Abstract: An axis indicator contains a long rectangular tube placed within the saddle of a dental bracket. The indicator contains a projection which is parallel to the archwire slot in the dental bracket and can be aligned parallel to the occlusal plane of the patient. Thus, use of the axis indicator insures proper placement of the dental bracket on the teeth.

Abstract: Improved attachment structure between a rotatable interdental device and a toothbrush handle having said device rotatable about a movable shaft. The device is held in position by positioners which engage when the device is at a predetermined angle to said handle and said shaft is in a first position. The positioners dissengage when the shaft moves to a second position. The positioners interact in a camming manner so that a predetermined force cams the shaft into its second position. The shaft extends from a resilient cantilever arm which biases the shaft toward the first position. The shaft also includes diverging wedgelike end surfaces which facilitate separating legs of the device for assembly of the shaft and device.

Abstract: A cylindrical toy having a first and second half each defining a semi-cylindrical body. Each of the halves has secured to its inner surface a plurality of substantially semi-circular flat plates which define a spiral passage when the halves are connected. The cylindrical halves have a bottom portion and the bottom portion of one half includes a bottom guide disk. The second half includes a reinforcing plate which is spaced from and disposed parallel to the bottom portion of the second half to form a space which receives the guide disk of the first half in order to accurately position the two halves with respect to each other prior to their being connected together.

Abstract: The adhesive strength of alumina brackets to acrylic adhesive cements is enhanced by forming an essentially silica coating on the bonding surface of the bracket by the steps of coating said surface with an organosilicon compound such as a silane and then pyrolyzing the organosilicon coating to volatilize the organic components thereof to thereby leave an essentially silica coating.
