Patent number: 7933742Abstract: A noise detection signal detected at an evaluation point is filtered by a low pass filter, so that an evaluation waveform signal is extracted. A real signal mother wavelet of complex type is derived from the extracted evaluation waveform signal. Using this mother wavelet, an abnormal waveform signal stored in advance is processed by wavelet transformation. Then, a correlation value is calculated between the abnormal waveform signal and the mother wavelet. The correlation value is compared with a predetermined criterion, so that the presence or absence of abnormality in a sound source or vibration source corresponding to each abnormal waveform signal is determined.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2007Date of Patent: April 26, 2011Assignees: JTEKT Corporation, Zhong ZhangInventors: Hideaki Ishii, Hiroshi Uemura, Zhong Zhang

Publication number: 20110084470Abstract: An upper bracket for mounting a column to a vehicle body includes a column support portion which is press-fitted on an outer periphery of the column through axial press-fitting action with a predetermined interference between the column and the column support portion. Hence, the column is in relative press-fit relation to the bracket and is normally in pressure contact with the column support portion. Therefore, if a secondary collision exerts an impact force on the column pushing the column in the axial direction, the column is moved as generating strong friction with the column support portion. Accordingly, the impact energy of the secondary collision is attenuated by the friction. Thus, a shock absorbing steering apparatus featuring a simple structure ensuring a stable operation can be provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 22, 2009Publication date: April 14, 2011Applicant: JTEKT CORPORATIONInventors: Yasuhiro Tanioka, Terukazu Nakajima, Takashi Sumida, Yoshikazu Kawada

Patent number: 7918306Abstract: In an electric power steering apparatus, a phase control characteristic for a signal corresponding to detected steering torque is changed according to the judgment whether the steering is in a return steering state or a feed steering state, so that a response of a variation of target output value of a motor for generating steering assist power to a variation of the detected steering torque decreases in the return steering state in comparison with that in the feed steering state. An output control characteristic of the motor is changed according to the judgment synchronously with the change of the phase control characteristic, so that a response of a variation of the output command value to a variation of deviation between the target output value and actual output value decreases in the return steering state in comparison with that in the feed steering state.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2006Date of Patent: April 5, 2011Assignee: JTEKT CorporationInventor: Terutaka Tamaizumi

Patent number: 7909131Abstract: A microcomputer is provided with an extracting section capable of extracting a specific frequency component from an input signal. The extracting section extracts, from a pinion angle corresponding to a signal indicating the state of a steering system, a frequency component corresponding to a vibration that increases generation of a rattling noise in a speed reducing mechanism. The extracting section outputs an effective value of the extracted frequency component as a power spectrum. If the power spectrum output from the extracting section is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold value, the microcomputer outputs a motor control signal to reduce the assist force generated by the EPS actuator.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2008Date of Patent: March 22, 2011Assignee: JTEKT CorporationInventor: Akihiko Nishimura
