  • Patent number: 7741256
Abstract: A lubricant composition contains poly-?-olefin oil having a kinematic viscosity of 1500 to 13000 mm 2/s (40° C.) as a base oil and from 45 to 50% by weight of a thickener composed of polytetrafluoroethylene. The lubricant composition may be used for lubricating an expandable shaft having a pair of shaft members filled with the lubricant composition to prevent stick-slip from occurring when a high surface pressure is applied thereto, thereby allowing consistent maintenance of good lubricating performance. Such an expandable shaft may be incorporated advantageously into a steering system as an intermediate shaft into an area between a steering shaft and a rack-and-pinion mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7737648
Abstract: A motor controller stores values corresponding to predetermined equivalent resistance which corresponds to power loss generated by switching on and off switching elements. Voltage command values are determined by adding voltage drop values determined from values corresponding to the equivalent resistance and values of current flowing in the switching elements to target applied voltage values corresponding to current command values which correspond to target output of a motor. The switching elements arranged in a power supply line to the motor are switched on and off by control signals generated according to the voltage command values.

  • Patent number: 7736257
Abstract: Pinion gears are rotatably carried within pinion gear receiving openings formed in a differential case. The inner pinion gear holding surfaces of the receiving openings are enlarged inwardly to form extensions to hold not only portions of the pinion gears that are located outwardly and that are to be held, but also part of inner meshing portions of the pinion gears that are disposed in meshing engagement with side gears in an overlapping manner. This construction prevents a tilting of the pinion gears and improves the durability.

  • Publication number: 20100133934
Abstract: In a motor that includes bus bars each of which has an intermediate electrical path portion, end electrical path portions, and a main electrical path portion, the width of a portion of the intermediate electrical path portion at which the multiple end electrical path portions are formed between the main electrical path portion and an end portion of the intermediate electrical path portion is decreased from the portion at which the main electrical path portion is formed toward the end portion of the intermediate electrical path portion in such a manner that the width is decreased immediately after each intervening end electrical path portion by a unit width “w” that is equal to the width of the end electrical path portion. Thus, it is possible to prevent the current density in the intermediate electrical path portion from being excessive so that the current density is maintained substantially constant, and to attain lighter bus bars, and, consequently, to attain a lighter motor.
