  • Patent number: 5218421
Abstract: A wavelength detecting apparatus which assures that the wavelength of a laser light can be detected with accuracy is disclosed. In the subject invention, the temperature of the vapor obtained from an element such as a mercury which contains plural isotopes is elevated in excess of a predetermined temperature so that an emission line of the element becomes plural emission lines. One of the divided emission lines is used as a reference light for the detection of the wavelength of the light to be detected. In addition, a specific isotope of the element may be selected from plural isotopes of a reference element to thereby provide a narrowed emission line for use as a reference light.

  • Patent number: 5209141
Abstract: During shift change, a discrimination is made as to a load, a quantity of residual hydraulic oil in respective shift change clutches (F, R, 1 to 4) and a state of shift change which has been effected from what speed stage to what speed stage so that a pattern of electrical commands to be issued to pressure control valves (51 to 56) for required shift change clutches is variably controlled depending on results derived from the above discrimination. Thus, smooth shift change can always be achieved regardless of running conditions. Electrical commands (C.sub.1 to C.sub.6) to be fed to the respective pressure control valves (51 to 56) are compared with electrical currents (I.sub.1 to I.sub.6) outputted from drive circuits and outputs (S.sub.1 to S.sub.6) from clutch pressure detecting means (101 to 106) for each clutch, whereby an abnormality is detected with the relevant clutch based on results derived from the comparison.

  • Patent number: 5204865
Abstract: A serial control apparatus includes a main controller (2) and a plurality of nodes (3) each serving as an auxiliary controller normally serially arranged on a loop-shaped signal transmission line (1). Each node (3) extracts data for the present node among from the data delivered from the main controller (2) as time elapses so as to allow the terminal units (A) associated with the present node to be properly controlled. In addition, the node inserts the output data from the terminal units (A) into a time slot corresponding to the present node and then delivers to the signal transmission line (1) the output data which in turn are transferred to the main controller (2) via other nodes on the downstream side. To assure that the data extracting circuit operates properly, two latching circuits, i.e., first and second latching circuits (311, 312 to 315) are serially arranged in a signal passage by way of which the extracted data are fed to a driver (316) for the corresponding terminal units.

This method is one in which the density of a magnetic flux formed in the range between the vicinity of the surface of an electrode material 3 fixed to the front end of the electrode and the vicinity of the nozzle opening 1b of a nozzle 1 is between 10 and 200 gauss. The magnetic flux is generated by a magnetization apparatus 4 disposed in the vicinity of the electrode 2 of a plasma torch 100. • Patent number: 5199818
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for performing measurement by a resistivity method in order to detect the thickness of a sludge layer on the outer periphery of a shield machine. A Wenner electrode row (14) on the outer periphery of the machine is used to measure reference resistivities to thereby detect certain resistivities in the depth direction of the natural ground and the sludge layer thickness. At the same time, a dipole electrode row (16) is used to measure voltage distributions in the depth direction of the natural ground and in the direction of the arrangement of the electrodes. The ratios of the values measured by the measurement dipole electrodes to those measured by the reference Wenner electrodes are calculated, and their distribution is charted. When mutually equal values in the distribution map are connected together by continuous curves, a contour-pattern image is obtained, which enables a configuration of the collapse of natural ground to be determined.
