    Abstract: In a method of anti-lock brake control, in which when the wheel is about to become locked, a control valve is capable of controlling a braking pressure for a brake device irrespective of a braking operation. The control valve is operated to reduce the braking pressure of the brake device in order to reduce a braking force, thereby preventing the wheel from becoming locked. When the braking pressure is to be recovered, the control valve is operated to intermittently increase the braking pressure of the brake device for a given time in order to moderate the increasing of the braking force. The control of the intermittent increasing of the braking pressure is stopped when the completion of the braking operation has been detected in the course of intermittently increasing the braking pressure in recovering the braking pressure. This avoids the wasteful operation of the control valve to prevent the generation of any unwanted operational noise and a wasteful consumption of electric power.

An arcuate hole having its center on the center shaft is formed at one of the ends of the lock lever. One of the ends of the a rod whose other end is interconnected to a key cylinder is meshed with the arcuate hole of the lock lever and with the engagement hole of the switch arm.

    Abstract: In a device for disconnecting a needle bar from a needle-bar connecting stud on a sewing machine, a drive source drives a moving board. The moving board lowers a predetermined distance until a threading hook goes through an eye in a needle. A disconnecting member rotates a clutch click and disconnects the clutch click from a needle-bar connecting stud. The needle bar thus disengages from the needle-bar connecting stud. The moving board further lowers, an actuating rod lowers, the actuating rod in turn lowers a threading rod, the threading rod further rotates, and the threading hook goes through the eye. The needle is thus threaded. The disconnecting operation and the threading operation are carried out by using the drive source in common. Consequently, the device is simple in structure and compact in size. Since the needle bar only rises to disengage from the needle-bar connecting stud, no scratches are given on the fabric.

    Abstract: A fail-safe device for an engine temperature sensor. A value of the engine temperature detected by the engine temperature sensor is renewed and stored for engine control. While the engine is detected to be in a low temperature region lower than a predetermined value on the basis of the detected value, renewal of the detected value is inhibited when it has decreased. It is determined that the detected value has decreased, when the detected value is lower than a lower limit value. The lower limit value is set to a value corresponding to the detected value when the engine is detected to be in the low temperature region, whereas it is set to the predetermined value when the engine is detected not to be in the low temperature region. Renewal of the detected value is inhibited when the detected value has not remained within a predetermined range over a predetermined time period.
