  • Patent number: 5802078
Abstract: There is disclosed an acceptable error detector for error correcting block codes, in which of received syndrome vectors S for the received word vectors Y available from the syndrome generator, the m.sub.e -bit received subsyndromes S(m.sub.e) formed by the same components as those of the m.sub.e -bit representative subsyndromes <S(m.sub.e)> uniquely corresponding to the vectors of all the acceptable error pattern with error bits equal to or less than the acceptable number e is applied as addresses into the redundant subsyndrome table memory. Since the stored data specified by the input address are (m-m.sub.e)-bit redundant subsyndromes <S(m-m.sub.e)> which are supposed to appear in the remaining portion of S(=<S>) when the number of error bits is equal to or less than e, the remaining (m-m.sub.e)-bit received subsyndromes S(m-m.sub.e) derived from the received word vector Y in the syndrome generator and the (m-m.sub.e)-bit redundant subsyndrome <S(m-m.sub.

  • Patent number: 5795452
Abstract: A dry process system comprising a chamber having an inlet for reaction gas and an exhaust port for exhaust gas, at least one pair of electrodes connected with an alternating current power source through a blocking capacitor, respectively, and one or more magnetic field applying means for generating a magnetic field nearly parallel to a surface of each electrode. The distance between adjacent electrodes is set to the extent that electrons can travel nearly without collision in the space between the adjacent electrodes. Since the distance between adjacent electrodes is narrow, one plasma generated in the neighborhood of one of the adjacent electrode and the other plasma generated in the neighborhood of another electrode can commingle with each other so that the distribution of plasma is made nearly equal, thus a nearly uniform plasma can be formed without a rotating magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 5787342
Abstract: In a receiver of the present invention, a local oscillator frequency, used as a basis for a reception unit to demodulate a received signal, is generated by a local oscillator based on a reference frequency, which is generated by a voltage-controlled oscillator whose oscillation frequency is adjusted by a control voltage applied thereto. The control voltage is prescribed by a decoding unit which monitors a reception electric field intensity (RSSi) or an error rate in the reception unit. The control voltage is adjusted in a manner to increase the reception electric field intensity (RSSi) or reduce the error rate. When the local oscillator frequency experiences a large deviation and the signal cannot be received with good reception sensitivity, the decoding unit generates a control voltage in a manner so as to eliminate the deviation and applies the generated control voltage to the voltage-controlled oscillator for automatically adjusting the local oscillator frequency to a level having a reduced deviation.
