  • Patent number: 6164417
Abstract: In the procedure for closing an elevator landing door (3,4), the landing door is coupled with the car door (1,2) by a door coupler, and the car door is moved by an actuator provided in conjunction with the elevator car. During the initial phase of the closing movement, the car door and landing door are moved at the same speed, but towards the end of the closing movement the landing door (3,4) is caused to move faster than the car door (1,2). Based on control by the car door movement, the coupling elements (5,6) of the door coupler are moved in the direction of the car door movement.

  • Patent number: 6131704
Abstract: Rail brake (1) for an elevator, comprising a brake body attached to the elevator car, a clamp part comprising jaws (3,4) that engage a guide rail (2) via braking surfaces during braking. A spring (10) generates a load on the clamp part to press the braking surfaces against the guide rail, and a magnet whose force produces an effect reverse to that of the spring releases the braking surfaces from the guide rail. The clamp part is floatably suspended relative to the brake body. The motion of the clamp part relative to the brake body is controlled by the guide rail (2).

  • Patent number: 5934891
Abstract: The screw pump (1) has a driving screw (6) and at least one side screw (7), which are placed in a screw channel (5) in the pump body (2), between a suction space (3) and a pressure space (4). At least one of the clearances between the surfaces of the driving screw, side screws and screw channel is larger in the areas close to the suction and pressure spaces than the corresponding clearance in the middle portion of the pump channel. The magnitude of the clearances is so fitted that the total leakage flow (V) between the suction and pressure spaces through the clearances is substantially the same for all angles of rotation of the screws (6,7). Preferably the clearance fit is achieved by reducing the diameter of the screw at its ends so that the change in the external diameter of the reduced portion has at least two different values.

  • Patent number: 5932852
Abstract: A procedure for allocating the calls entered via landing call devices of the elevators in an elevator bank forms several allocation options. Each allocating option contains, for each active landing call, a call data item and an elevator data item which together are used to determine which elevator should service the call. The value of a cost function is calculated for each allocation option; one or more of the allocation options is repeatedly changed with respect to at least one data item, and the values of the cost functions of the new allocation options are calculated. Based on the values of the cost functions, the best allocation option is selected and the active elevator calls are allocated to the elevators in the elevator bank accordingly.
