  • Patent number: 4655004
Abstract: One element of the hatchway panel is hinged to the hatch coaming through a link and is connected to the piston rod of a hydraulic actuator of which the cylinder foot portion comprises a transverse pin adapted to slide within an elongate hole provided in a fixed support. On this fixed support is pivoted a locking hook adapted to co-act with a lateral stop of the panel for locking the panel in its closed position. When the hydraulic actuator is actuated for opening the panel, the foot portion of the actuator cylinder first engages a heel portion of the locking hook and causes this hook to pivot for automatically unlocking the panel.

  • Patent number: 4636477
Abstract: A procedure for loading into an instrument cuvettes intended for chemical analysis and/or handling of liquids, said cuvettes being loaded into the instrument directly from the shipping package, and a cuvette package. The cuvette package includes a box portion for supporting the cuvettes having an open feeding end, and a cover portion detachable from the box portion and provided with a depending pushing member. When the cover portion is disposed contiguously atop the box portion to form the package, the pushing member closes the feeding end to securely contain any cuvettes therein. When the cover portion is detached from the box portion, dust-free and scratch-free transfer of cuvettes into the instrument while the package is attached to an input aperture of the instrument may be accomplished by pushing, from behind, the rows of cuvettes in the package with the pushing member of the cover portion.

  • Patent number: 4576327
Abstract: A procedure for affixing bearing hoops on the outer surface of a barking drum or an equivalent large diameter drum, the bearing hoops resting on carrier wheels thereunder, by the aid of which the drum is rotated. In this procedure, a drum with an open longitudinal joint gap, the bearing hoops and the carrier wheels are properly placed in mutual register. The invention teaches to proceed in the manner that hollow bearing hoops are used through which a heating fluid, such as hot water, is arranged to flow, that the inner surface of the drum is cooled with a cooling fluid such as cold water, that the drum is loaded mechanically in a direction such as to dilate the longitudinal joint gap, that is, so that the drum is urged against the inner surface of the bearing hoop, that the drum is secured in this position by the aid of wedges pushed into the longitudinal joint, that into the open longitudinal joint of the drum inserts are welded, and that the bearing hoops are then allowed to cool.

  • Patent number: 4566381
Abstract: A drum press for separating liquid from solid substance, the drum press consisting of two different sized, cylindrical, perforated drums rotating one within the other around different centers, between the envelope surfaces of which the liquid is pressed out from the substance being pressed, and the outer drum being provided with non-rotating end plates disposed with requisite clearance in relation to the rotating outer drum. The inner drum provided with a shaft passes through the non-rotating end plates of the outer drum with requisite clearance, and in its shell and in its end plates fixed on the shaft have been made, towards the shell, apertures, through which the liquid that has entered the drum during the pressing operation is enabled freely to flow out from the drum.

  • Patent number: 4545946
Abstract: Method and equipment for compacting of concrete mix when concrete products are being cast by means of a continuous method. The concrete mix is carried from the feeder device (4) forwards by means of an endless transfer unit. The compression required for the compacting of the concrete mix is produced by means of a roll (1) pressed against the transfer face (2). The compression is directed at the concrete mix by the intermediate of rigid plates (2) of a caterpillar band constituting the transfer unit, which plates are pressed against the concrete mix by means of two or more support rolls (1).

  • Patent number: 4518062
Abstract: A procedure for adjusting the stopping of an elevator as accurately as possible on desired level with the aid of the deceleration instruction (DR). From the elevator's deceleration instruction (DR) a sample is taken at the beginning and at the end of deceleration, these are compared with each other and the linearity of deceleration is adjusted on the basis of the result obtained. The invention also concerns an elevator deceleration measuring circuit for carrying out the procedure. The measuring circuit, connected to the deceleration instruction (DR) of the elevator, comprises a display unit such as for instance two light-emitting diodes (D4,D5) by which the result can be ascertained if the deceleration instruction is increasing or decreasing.

  • Patent number: 4499645
Abstract: Procedure for manufacturing a roof element wherein in the space between two sheets, that is, between a top and a bottom sheet (2,3), lagging material (1) such as polyurethane is foamed. It is only after foaming the lagging (1) that the folds (4,5) required for joining by machine are profiled by roller forming technique on the margins of the top sheet (2). The invention makes for faster and simpler manufacturing of the roof element. In comparison with procedures now in use, the cutting of the top sheet (2) from stock is simplified, the points of escape will be less, implying better quality, the manufacturing takes less time and continuous moulding, which presents the most efficient manufacturing method at the time, becomes applicable in this process in competitive and technologically sound production of these roof elements.

  • Patent number: 4499972
Abstract: An elevator speed control system permitting rotation of the motor with short-circuited rotor at full speed, wherein the thyristors controlling said motor permit the motor to rotate at full speed and when the elevator is running in the lighter direction, operation of the motor as generator at an over-synchronous speed. The system comprises a control unit assembled of components known in themselves in the art by which the instruction value is increased considerably past the actual value, whereby the motor with short-circuited rotor is left to rotate at full speed, and that on commencing retardation the instruction value is dropped directly to be consistent with the actual value.
