  • Patent number: 8677423
Abstract: A digital residential entertainment system is disclosed recording video data of an event. The apparatuses include a processor communicating with memory. The memory stores video data of the event captured by a camera, and the video data includes a series of picture frames of the event. A loop buffer also stores video data of the event captured by the camera. A rule-based engine stored in the memory uses a set of rules to store the contents of the loop buffer in the memory. The apparatus utilizes the loop buffer to provide video data prior to occurrence of the event.

  • Patent number: 8676240
Abstract: Mechanisms for efficient transmission of large amount of download data from a base station to a user equipment in a multi-carrier that minimizes power consumption on the user equipment are described. When multiple component carriers are to be used to transmit the download data, the base station informs the user equipment. The base station transmits on the anchor carriers without wait after informing the user equipment and transmits on the non-anchor carriers after waiting a predetermined delay. The predetermined delay provides time to allow the user equipment to activate the receiving resources and be ready to receive the download data over the non-anchor carriers. In this manner, the user equipment can be in a power conservation mode and activate the receiver resources only when needed.

  • Patent number: 8675718
Abstract: Precoder weights employed at a base station which coordinates with other base stations to form a super-cell are determined by: (a) determining an initial downlink precoding matrix at the base station for a mobile station serviced by the base station in the super-cell; (b) revising a downlink receiver matrix associated with the mobile station based on the initial downlink precoding matrix; (c) transforming the downlink receiver matrix to an uplink precoder matrix associated with the mobile station; (d) revising an uplink receiver matrix associated with each base station in uplink communication with the mobile station based on the uplink precoder matrix associated with the mobile station; and (e) revising the initial downlink precoding matrix by transforming the uplink receiver matrix to a revised downlink precoding matrix. Steps (b), (c), (d) and (e) are repeated for a particular number of iterations to determine a final downlink precoding matrix for the mobile station.

The first and second rails of the window cover are movable relative to each other. According to the method, at least one of the first rail and the second rail is moved in a first direction to cause the lift cords to unwind from the lift cord pulleys, thereby rotating a lift cord pulley shaft and a set of gears. Further, at least one of the first rail and the second rail is moved in a second direction to cause the lift cords to wind on the lift cord pulleys, with the lift cord pulley shaft rotating in an opposite direction.

  • Publication number: 20140073314
Abstract: A method of operating a network node (130) to control measurements by a UE (110) in a communications system, includes communicating a measurement configuration message to the UE (110) that configures a measurement that is to be performed by the UE (110) to generate a measurement report. The measurement report is received from the UE (110). The measurement configuration message can be communicated as an explicit indication to the UE (110) to proceed with performing the measurement defined by the measurement configuration message. The measurement configuration message can define a reporting criteria that triggers the UE (110) to communicate the measurement report when the reporting criteria is fulfilled. The reporting criteria may be a threshold value that the UE (110) compares to the measurement to determine whether to communicate the measurement report. Related methods of operating a UE (110) and corresponding network node (130) and UE (110) apparatuses are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20140073368
Abstract: An aggressor base station (22-1) herein performs downlink interference coordination with one or more victim base stations (22-2, 22-3) in a radio communication network (10). Such coordination is performed for each of one or more iterations. For any given iteration, the aggressor (22-1) sends a message (28-2) to a victim (22-2) that indicates, for each of one or more downlink resources (26), whether the aggressor (22-1) promises to protect that resource (26) from interference by not transmitting on the resource (26) with a transmit power above a threshold (TH2). The victim (22-2) schedules downlink transmissions to one or more user equipments (16) on resources (26) that, according to the message (28-2), are protected from interference. Based on monitoring for interference to those transmissions, though, the victim (22-2) generates and sends to the aggressor (22-1) feedback (30-2) that generally requests an increase or decrease of the threshold (TH2).
