Abstract: Systems and methods according to the exemplary embodiments provide for bookmarking of content in IPTV systems. An IPTV control server can subscribe to receive notifications associated with the insertion of advertisements into other content. Upon receipt of a bookmark storing request, the IPTV control server can determine whether the bookmark storing request is associated with an advertisement or with the other content. A bookmark can then be stored by the IPTV control server including a content identifier based on the determination.

Abstract: A method and nodes adapted to provide personalized multimedia services for users having registered a media player (300, 400, 401, 501, 502, 606) to a multimedia network, on the basis of the content (301, 500) read by a code reader (302, 405, 503), connected to or integrated with the media player. Content decoded from a code is used for creating or updating a user preference data record (700, 701) linked to by the identity with which the respective media player is registered. An application server (305, 402, 506, 600) being responsible for personalizing a requested service is interconnected with one or more preference databases (306, 407, 603), and one or more content databases (308, 408, 605) and/or dedicated servers (507). Upon receiving a service request, the application server, access relevant data from the mentioned nodes and assembles personalization instructions, adapted to trigger the requested personalized service in the requesting media player.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for retransmission processing in a communication receiver includes improving the performance of Incremental Redundancy (IR) combining and retransmission processing at minimal increased complexity. One aspect of these improvements involves the use of prior decoding results, if the decoding block quality is above a threshold value, rather than or in addition to prior demodulation results, in retransmission processing. That is, the teachings herein propose selectively using the hard bit decisions obtained from decoding previously transmitted data blocks, to improve the decoding of retransmitted data blocks.

Abstract: A mobile UE initiates a full search of all supported frequencies upon detecting a change in the Mobile Country Code (MCC) transmitted by a PLMN. The change in MCC indicates the user had crossed a political border, and the spectrum allocated for wireless communication may be different. In one embodiment, the mobile UE stores the current MCC. Upon obtaining an updated MCC, it is compared to the stored MCC. If the updated MCC is different from the stored MCC, the full frequency search is initiated. To prevent excessive searching, with concomitant power consumption, while traveling near a border, the UE waits a predetermined duration after an MCC-initiated full scan before conducting a subsequent full scan, even if the MCC changes within that duration.

Abstract: According to one aspect, there is provided a method performed by a communication device for declaring RLF. In some embodiments, the method includes: (1) the communication device establishing a connection with a serving base station; (2) the communication device determining whether to relax a condition for declaring RLF; (3) the communication device using a first rule in declaring an RLF in response to determining that the communication device should not relax the condition; and (4) the communication device using a relaxed rule in declaring an RLF in response to determining that the communication device should relax the condition, wherein the relaxed rule is less stringent than the first rule.

In an example method for operating a computerized SNS aggregator having a plurality of account holders, identifiers for one or more external network-accessible SNS accounts associated with each of several account holders are collected and stored. An access token for each of the associated external network-accessible SNS accounts is collected and stored. Data-sharing relationships between pairs of account holders having linked accounts within the SNS aggregator service are identified. Subsequently, one or more account holders having a data-sharing relationship with a first account holder are identified. One or more external network-accessible SNS accounts for each of the other account holders are accessed, using the corresponding stored access tokens. Finally, a data feed for the first account holder is assembled, using data items retrieved from the external network-accessible SNS accounts for the other account holders.

The new data flow is admitted if the admission test count is smaller than a maximum allowable count. The reservation counts are then updated based on the descriptors of the new data flow.
