  • Patent number: 8655988
Abstract: In order to put a network access node such as a wireless router or home gateway in a home network in operation, the node needs to be configured with several parameters requiring technical skills that an ordinary user often does not have. The present invention solves this problem by introducing a system and a method to assist the user to configure the router. The system comprises a web based wizard, an inference engine coupled to said wizard and a knowledge base coupled to said inference engine. The wizard guides the user to provide input which together with stored information retrieved from the knowledge base is processed by the inference engine. The inference engine further generates configuration data that is stored in the wireless router or home gateway. The user can without detailed technical knowledge easily configure the router.

  • Patent number: 8654010
Abstract: In one of its aspects the technology concerns a method of determining a position of a wireless terminal in a radio access network using information of the travel time of radio waves between a base station and the wireless terminal, the travel time information being retrieved in a way consistent with SUPL positioning. The method comprises performing, at the wireless terminal, a time of arrival measurement for a respective downlink radio frame received from a node associated with a cell of a radio access network. The method thereafter uses the time of arrival measurement and an estimated time of downlink transmission from the node to make a determination of a distance between the wireless terminal and the node. The distance so determined can be used to generate an ellipsoid arc for describing a round trip time positioning of the wireless terminal.

  • Patent number: 8656158
Abstract: A system and method for generating a set of IP addresses for access multi-homing in an Internet access network. A generating host obtains from the network a set of IPv6 subnet prefixes for a plurality of available Internet Service Providers, ISPs. The generating host generates a single IPv6 interface identifier from the subnet prefixes and cryptographically binds the subnet prefixes with the single IPv6 interface identifier. A remote peer verifies that all of the IP addresses belong together by independently generating the IPv6 interface identifier from the same set of subnet prefixes and comparing the result with the IPv6 interface identifier generated by the generating host.

  • Patent number: 8654739
Abstract: An IP (Internet Protocol) session for a mobile node is carried out through the use of a virtual care-of address. A foreign agent sends an agent advertisement to the mobile node to allow the mobile node to choose from a list of IP addresses of the foreign agent. The foreign agent ties a virtual care-of address to a mobile node so that an intelligent and dynamic selection of tunnels to be used for the IP session can occur. Therefore, traffic for an IP session is not limited to transmission over the single particular tunnel that corresponds to an IP address initially selected by the mobile node. Rather, the virtual care-of address shifts the tunneling decision from the mobile node to the foreign agent. Supporting multiple tunnels between home agent and foreign agent allows resilience, redundancy, and service-level differentiation to mobile node traffic without involving the mobile node in the process.

  • Patent number: 8656102
Abstract: A method for preloading into a hierarchy of memories, bitstreams representing the configuration information for a reconfigurable processing system including several processing units. The method includes an off-execution step of determining tasks that can be executed on a processing unit subsequently to the execution of a given task. The method also includes, during execution of the given task, computing a priority for each of the tasks that can be executed. The priority depends on information relating to the current execution of the given task. The method also includes, during execution of the given task, sorting the tasks that can be executed in the order of their priorities. The method also includes, during execution of the given task, preloading into the memory, bitstreams representing the information of the configurations for the execution of the tasks that can be executed, while favoring the tasks whose priority is the highest.

  • Patent number: 8654770
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of setting up a call from an originating user in an internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) network. The originating user provides a signalling message containing an originating identifier of the user to a first node of the network. According to the method, a first node of the network receives the signalling message. The first node performs a verification on whether the originating identifier is associated with a wildcard identifier, wherein the wildcard identifier identifies a plurality of identifiers which are entitled to using a group service. If the originating identifier is associated with a wildcard identifier, the first node forwards the wildcard identifier and the originating identifier to a further node for setting up the call.

  • Patent number: 8653887
Abstract: The present invention relates to an amplifier circuit where a load modulation is applied to a segmented amplifier. This will reduce the shunt loss since the loss of a segmented amplifier is reduced by allowing each amplifier segment or combination of segments to operate to their full output power capacity, rather than limited to a lower output power which results in a higher shunt loss. Hence, operation to full capacity before adding more segments is made possible by dynamically modulating the load.

  • Patent number: 8653886
Abstract: The invention is based on the fact that the current output from a DDB controlled amplifier in backoff, i.e. for low amplitudes, is reduced more or less linearly with the amplitude of the signal to be amplified. Therefore, it is enough to use smaller amplifiers which are able to output the necessary RF current. Hence, according to the present invention, the total DDB amplifier is divided into smaller parts that are coupled to the output only when needed.
