Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing an organic film on the surface of a solid support including the steps consisting in (a) applying, to said surface, by transfer or by spraying, a solution containing at least one cleavable aryl salt; (b) subjecting said solution to a UV or visible irradiation, by means of which radical entities are formed from the cleavable aryl salt and an organic film is grafted. The present invention also relates to a kit of elements for the implementation of such a method.

Abstract: A procedure for synchronization of re-configuration of RRC procedures between the radio base station and the UE is achieved by associating a new configuration to be used by a UE with an additional UE identity. The UE is normally identified by a first UE identity, but is informed in a re-configuration message that the UE also has the additional UE identity. The UE is identified by the additional UE identity when the new configuration is to be activated. Hence, when the radio base station detects that the UE responds to requests, which included the additional UE identity, the radio base station can conclude that the UE has activated the new configuration.

In particular, the invention concerns a method for characterizing a known or suspected pigmentary spot in a human being, comprising comparing the levels of expression in skin samples obtained from said spot and from adjacent undamaged skin, of at least one dermal gene linked to matrix remodelling or to its extracellular proteoglycan and glycoprotein components, selected from the list constituted by the genes MXRA5, LYZ, CTSL2, PLAU, TIMP1, EFEMP1, ECM1, ASPN, HS3ST6, PAPLN, CHSY1 and FLRT2. The invention also concerns methods for evaluating the efficacy of a pigmentary spot treatment, cosmetic and therapeutic methods for the treatment of pigmentary spots, and various modulators for said genes, and their use.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes treatment of the vasculature of a patient with an expandable implant. The implant is constrained to a reduced delivery profile for delivery within the vasculature by at least one sleeve. The implant may be constrained to other diameters, such as an intermediate configuration having a diameter larger than the delivery profile and smaller than the deployment diameter. The sleeves may be expanded, allowing for expansion of the diameter of the expandable implant, by disengaging a coupling member from the sleeve or sleeves from outside of the body of the patient. The expandable implant may comprise a number of side branch fenestrations or fenestratable portions.

Abstract: The present disclosure includes a securing device comprising one or more barbs. A barb may comprise a depth stop, which may itself comprise an apex portion coupled to a trough portion. A barb may be constructed, in various embodiments, from a length of shape memory wire. Thus, during deployment, a barb may spring away from a medical device to which the barb is coupled such that the barb makes contact with and punctures, to a limited depth, a body lumen wall. A barb may not, however, fully puncture a body lumen wall. Rather, a depth stop may limit a puncture depth to a depth that does not endanger and/or subject tissue surrounding or external to the lumen wall to damage and/or bleeding or leakage from within the lumen. Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for transmitting data over a desired frequency tone in the presence of an interference that has an unknown magnitude that is substantially constant. In general, data symbols are transmitted in a null space of the desired frequency tone. The null space of the desired frequency tone is orthogonal to the desired frequency tone. As such, the data symbols transmitted in the null space of the desired frequency tone are not interfered with by the interference at the desired frequency tone regardless of the magnitude of the interference. The data symbols transmitted in the null space of the desired frequency tone can then be recovered by a receiver without estimation of or compensation for the interference at the desired frequency tone.

Abstract: A telecommunications node (e.g., base station subsystem) and method are described herein that broadcasts a set of system information messages (e.g., SI2quater messages or pairs of SI2ter messages and SI2quater messages) for use by a legacy mobile station which enhances the overall probability (over time) that the legacy mobile station (non-supporting mobile station) in a network sharing scenario will find frequency, cell information or a combination of both within the broadcasted system information messages to be used for the legacy mobile station's cell reselection process to provide continuity with the legacy mobile station's registered PLMN (i.e. the Common PLMN of a shared radio access network). In addition, the telecommunications node (e.g., base station subsystem) and method can also broadcast a different type of system information message for used by a supporting mobile station.

Abstract: A communication apparatus for connecting to a network that requires authentication is provided. The apparatus includes a network controller for connecting to the network; a controller for controlling a connection to the network via the network controller; a sensor for obtaining biometric information of a user of the communication apparatus; and a memory for storing a subscription module applied to authentication towards the network. The subscription module includes identification information created based on biometric information of the user. In order to establish a connection to the network by use of the subscription module stored in the memory, the controller obtains biometric information of the user by use of the sensor and compares the obtained biometric information to the identification information in the subscription module.

Abstract: The dynamic determination of a handover trigger for triggering handover of a mobile terminal in a wireless network from a source base station to a target base station is based on one or more Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Each KPI indicates a quality of wireless services provided by the wireless network responsive to a particular handover trigger. If an obtained parameter that indirectly or directly impacts handover performance passes a corresponding performance test, the mobile terminal selects the handover trigger based on the KPIs. If the parameter fails the corresponding performance test, the source base station selects the handover trigger based on the KPIs.
