Abstract: A subscriber server routes a terminating call in a network that includes a circuit switched (CS) network, a packet switched (PS) network, and an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). The server receives a request for routing information in relation to the terminating call from a CS node in the CS network. A determination is made at server based on whether a UE associated with the terminating call is registered in the IMS and the UE has access to the PS network. The server instructs the CS node to route the terminating call in the CS network when the UE is not registered in the IMS or when the UE does not have access to the PS network. The server instructs the CS node to send the terminating call to the IMS for handling when the UE is registered in the IMS and when the UE has access to the PS network.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining a location address for shared packet switched data. The data is to be accessible by a user of a first device and a user of a second device. A symmetric function is applied to a known identifier associated with the first device and a known identifier associated with the second device. The result of the function can then be used as an address for data to be accessible by users of both the first device and the second device, the data being stored on a remote server at a location defined by the address. The method ensures that the same address is calculated regardless of which identifier is used first, and that both devices can calculate the address without requiring any further signalling or capability/discovery mechanism.

Abstract: Orthogonality in cyclic shift (CS) and orthogonal cover code (OCC) selection for DMRS in MIMO is improved by new nDMRS to nDMRS(2) mapping patterns. Values in the mapping tables are arranged in sets, with minimum CS separation between the values in each set. Additionally, the semi-static nDMRS is independently configurable for each UL component carrier (CC) in the case of cross-CC scheduling in carrier aggregation, and the PHICH allocation formula that defines the allocation of the PHICH process relative to the kth codeword (CW) on the cth UL CC is a function of both the CS index nDMRS,k,c(2) that is dynamically assigned to a certain layer of the considered CW and the semi-static CS offset nDMRS,c(1) for the cth CC.

Abstract: A base station node (BS) of a heterogeneous radio access network comprises a terminal locator (34) and a scheduler (36). The terminal locator (34) obtains an indication of location of a wireless terminal (30) in a cell served by the base station (BS), e.g., whether the wireless terminal (30) is in a center region (M) or an edge region (E) for the cell served by the base station node (BS). The scheduler (36) uses the indication of location to assign to the wireless terminal (30) a frequency of a frequency bandwidth usable by the heterogeneous radio access network. The scheduler (36) assigns a frequency from a partitioned portion of the frequency bandwidth if the cell served by the base station node is a micro cell and the wireless terminal is in an edge region of a micro cell. The scheduler (36) also assigns a frequency of the frequency bandwidth if the cell served by the base station node is a micro cell and the wireless terminal is in a center portion of the micro cell.

Abstract: A method for fingerprinting positioning decision support includes obtaining a geographic distribution probability of positions of measurement. A first collection of simulated measurements according to a signal model is generated, wherein each simulated measurement is associated with a respective pixel. The signal model is based on base stations located in the area. Fingerprinting positioning reference data is computed from the first collection and positions of the selected pixels. A second collection of simulated measurements is generated, which is statistically independent to the first collection. These simulated measurements are associated with a respective intended position within the area. Fingerprinting positioning is performed by the second collection utilizing the computed fingerprinting positioning reference data. An estimated accuracy of the fingerprinting positioning is calculated using a comparison between the intended position and the estimated position.

Abstract: A method of iteratively determining an optimal configuration for rehoming a plurality of base stations among a plurality of RNCs is disclosed. In a first iteration, a proposed rehoming configuration and an associated performance metric indicative are determined. The performance metric is indicative of a load imbalance of the proposed rehoming configuration, a quantity of inter-RNC handovers that would be exhibited by the proposed rehoming configuration, or both. A plurality of additional rehoming configurations are iteratively determined by: selecting one of a simulated annealing algorithm, an intensification algorithm, or a diversification algorithm responsive to a type of algorithm used in the preceding iteration, the performance metric of one or more preceding iterations, or both; and performing the selected algorithm to identify an additional rehoming configuration. Responsive to a completion event, a determined rehoming solution having a performance metric exhibiting a greatest improvement is outputted.

Abstract: Systems and methods for cancelling interference from a received signal in order to properly detect a signal of interest are disclosed. A combined signal of interest plus interference signal may be received. A copy or sample of the interference signal may be determined. The interference signal and the combined signal of interest plus interference signal may be converted to the optical domain. The interference signal may be optically phase shifted by ?180 degrees, which may result in an optically inverted interference signal. The optically inverted interference signal may be variably optically attenuated and/or variably optically time delayed, for example based on a detected output power of an optical subsystem of the interference cancellation system. As a result, interference cancellation of the interference signal from the combined signal of interest plus interference signal may be achieved, resulting in 50 dB or more of cancellation of the interference signal.

Abstract: A method for noise rise estimation in a wireless communication system comprises measuring (210) of received total wideband power of an antenna a plurality of times. An estimate of a noise floor measure is computed (212) based on at least a number of the measured received total wideband powers of the antenna. Interference whitening of a received signal is performed (214) per user for a multitude of users. A useful signal power per user after the interference whitening, preferably Frequency Domain Equalization, is determined (216). A noise rise measure per user is calculated (220), based at least on the useful signal power per user and the noise floor measure. The calculation in turn comprises compensation of the noise rise measure per user for the effects of the interference whitening. An arrangement for noise rise estimation is adapted for such a method. A radio base station comprises such an arrangement.

Abstract: The iterative decoding of blocks may be continued or terminated based on CRC checks. In an example embodiment, one iteration of an iterative decoding process is performed on a block whose information bits are covered by a CRC. The iterative decoding process is stopped if the CRC checks for a predetermined number of consecutive iterations. In another example embodiment, a decoding iteration is performed on a particular sub-block of multiple sub-blocks of a transport block, which includes a single CRC over an entirety of the transport block. The CRC is checked using decoded bits obtained from the decoding iteration on the particular sub-block and decoded bits obtained from previous decoding iterations on other sub-blocks of the multiple sub-blocks. The decoding iteration is then performed on a different sub-block if the CRC does not check. Also, the decoding iterations for the sub-blocks may be terminated if the CRC checks.
