Publication number: 20130308589Abstract: Methods and arrangements in a control node, a base station and a UE, for achieving a UE up link transmit diversity mode adaptation, which is coordinated between a base station and a control node. The methods and arrangements involve the control node indicating a set of allowed up link transmit diversity modes to the base station. Further, an up link transmit diversity mode for the mobile terminal is selected in the base station, from amongst the currently allowed up link transmit diversity modes; where the selection is based on information concerning the mobile terminal which is available in the base station. The base station then indicates the selected up link transmit diversity mode to the mobile terminal, which changes to the up link transmit diversity mode indicated by the base station. The methods and arrangements enable a faster and more flexible UE up link transmit diversity mode adaptation.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2011Publication date: November 21, 2013Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Jinhua Liu, Johan Bergman, Johan Hultell, Qingyu Miao

Patent number: 8588220Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and apparatus for mitigating port swapping during signal tracking. The method and apparatus generally include acquiring a first signal characteristic corresponding to a signal assigned to a first port, comparing the first signal characteristic to a second previously acquired signal characteristic, and assigning the signal to a second port if the first and second signal characteristics vary. Such a configuration mitigates port swapping without requiring signals to include identification information, thereby enabling assignment of signals corresponding to any format or source.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2005Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: L-3 Communications CorporationInventors: Steven D. Patent number: 8589292Abstract: A market for unbiased private individual data is disclosed. A data market maker managing the market collects information from owners of private individual data on their privacy and risk attitudes. The collected information includes choices from the owners of private individual data on different pricing schemes that reflect the privacy and risk attitudes of the owners of data. The data market maker receives requests for access to private individual data from data buyers over time and determines pricing menus listing prices for the data buyers to pay for access to the private individual data based on the collected information. The data market maker compensates the owners of the private individual data for selling access to their data to the data buyers.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2012Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: Hewlett-Packaqrd Company, L. Patent number: 8589582Abstract: A method and Access Network Node for handling dissimilar protocols when a Host accesses a Broadband Network. The Access Network Node includes a protocol converter for interworking between the Neighbor Discovery (ND) protocol and the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). When an ND Router Solicitation message is received from a Host that does not support DHCP, the converter converts the ND message to a DHCP Solicit message and forwards it to a Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) together with a port ID. When the Access Network Node receives a DHCP Reply message from the BNG destined for the same Host, the converter converts the DHCP Reply message to an ND Router Advertisement message before sending it to the Host.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2009Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Torben Melsen, Ole Helleberg Andersen, Jørgen Karkov

Patent number: 8588157Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved procedure for synchronization of re-configuration of RRC procedures between the radio base station and the UE. This is achieved by associating a new configuration to be used by a UE with an additional UE identity. The UE is normally identified by a first UE identity, but is informed in a re-configuration message that the UE also has the additional UE identity. The UE is identified by the additional UE identity when the new configuration is to be activated. Hence, when the radio base station detects that the UE responds to requests, which included the additional UE identity, the radio base station can conclude that the UE has activated the new configuration.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2008Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Mats Sagfors, Magnus Johansson, George Jongren, Magnus Lindstrom, Johan Torsner

Patent number: 8588090Abstract: A system and method to provide intelligent scheduling of network resources when a user equipment (UE) is operating in a Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) wireless network with duty cycle limitation. Intelligent scheduling is accomplished in two stages—a training stage, and a scheduling stage. In the training stage, a training module in the eNodeB senses the Transmission Time Interval (TTI) pattern when the UE is “awake” (i.e., when the UE is transmitting power under a P % duty cycle (P<100)). In the scheduling stage, a scheduler in the eNodeB intelligently allocates the network resources to the UE for transmission on both uplink and downlink based on the information from the training stage. Thus, resources are allocated only when the UE is “awake” or can send/receive ACK/NAK when it is awake. Such intelligent scheduling may substantially reduce re-transmissions in the system and may improve system's efficiency in duty cycle-limited frequency bands.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2010Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Sairamesh Nammi, Hossam H'mimy, Nishant Batra

Patent number: 8588439Abstract: A variable capacitance system including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a layer of elastically deformable dielectric material positioned between the first and the second electrode. An electret forms with the first electrode a first capacitor, and the electret forms with the second electrode a second capacitor. Capacitances of the first and second capacitors vary with deformation of the dielectric layer. The first electrode, the second electrode, and the first electret follow deformations of the dielectric layer and a deformation of the dielectric layer causes an inverse variation of capacitances of the first and of the second capacitor. The first electrode includes slots in which the electret is located, wherein the edge of the slots forms with the electret located inside the slots the first capacitor, wherein the electret is made on or in the dielectric layer.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2009Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: Commissariat a l'energie atomique et aux alternativesInventor: Ghislain Despesse
