Patent number: 8576943Abstract: A multi-band signal is generated by combining two or more input signals separated in frequency. The input signals are combined either before or after predistortion depending on the bandwidth of the multi-band signal. If the bandwidth of the multi-band signal is less than a predetermined bandwidth threshold, the input signals are combined and predistortion is applied to the combined signal to generate the multi-band signal. If the bandwidth of the multi-band signal is greater than the bandwidth threshold, the individual input signals are predistorted and subsequently combined to generate the multi-band signal.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2011Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Sai Mohan Kilambi, Bradley John Morris

Patent number: 8576845Abstract: Method and apparatus for controlling transmission of data packets in a packet-switched network. When a first end-host (A) sends an address query to a DNS system (300) for a second end-host, the DNS system responds by providing a sender key created from a destination key registered for the second end-host, if the first end-host is authorized to send packets to the second end-host. Thereby, the first end-host, if authorized, is able to get across data packets to the second end-host by attaching a sender tag (TAG) generated from the sender key, as ingress tag to each transmitted data packet. A router (302) in the network matches an ingress tag in a received packet with entries in a forwarding table and sends out the packet on an output port (X) according to a matching entry. Otherwise, the router discards the packet if no matching entry is found in the table.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2008Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: András Császár, Lars Westberg, Mats Näslund, Lars G. Patent number: 8578153Abstract: A system, method, and owner node for securely changing a mobile device from an old owner to a new owner, or from an old operator network to a new operator network. The old owner initiates the change of owner or operator. The old owner or operator then commands the mobile device to change a currently active first key to a second key. The second key is then transferred to the new owner or operator. The new owner or operator then commands the mobile device to change the second key to a third key for use between the mobile device and the new owner or operator. Upon completion of the change, the new owner or operator does not know the first key in use before the change, and the old owner does not know the third key in use after the change.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2009Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Mattias Johansson, Hakan Englund

Patent number: 8576766Abstract: A relay node is operated in a communication system wherein the relay node communicates with a communication system node via a first link and communicates with user equipment (UE) via a second link. The relay node detects whether a collision between its own uplink transmission on the first link and receipt of the user's transmission on the second link at a future time instant is expected to occur, wherein the collision will interfere with the relay node's ability to receive the UE's transmission. If so, then, the relay node selects and executes one of a plurality of interference averting measures, selection being based at least in part on what type of information is expected to be transmitted and received on the respective first and second links. First and second interference averting measures comprise refraining from or proceeding with transmission of some information to the communication system node.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2011Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Leif Wilhelmsson, Bengt Lindoff

Publication number: 20130287123Abstract: A method of indicating bit stream subsets in a video bit stream (210) is provided. The method comprises receiving the bit stream, dividing the bit stream into video packets (211-216), wherein each packet comprises either one of video data or supplemental information, and marking each packet with a single subset identifier (stream_id). Each subset identifier is associated with a corresponding bit stream subset (221-223). Further, a method of extracting video packets from a video bit stream is provided. The method comprises providing relevant subset identifiers, receiving video packets from the bit stream, and, for each received packet, inspecting the subset identifier of the packet. The packet is extracted if the subset identifier matches one of the relevant subset identifiers. This allows condensing properties of a bit stream subset into a single identifier, thereby simplifying the processing of video packets in the network and on the client side.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 19, 2012Publication date: October 31, 2013Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Thomas Rusert, Rickard Sjöberg, Zhuangfei Wu

Publication number: 20130291072Abstract: The system includes a device of a plurality of devices and a network entity for connecting the device to a communications network. The device is arranged for attempting to access the network while providing an identification of the device to the network entity. The network entity is arranged for receiving the access attempt from the device, and determining the identification of the device. The network entity determines an identification of a subscription associated with the device from a first database of the system. The network determines whether the identified subscription has the device associated therewith in a second database. The network entity allows the device to connect to the network entity or prevents the device from connecting to the communications network depending on the above determinations.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2010Publication date: October 31, 2013Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson AB (PUBL)Inventor: Jos Den Hartog

Publication number: 20130288652Abstract: A method and apparatus for use in a communication network. A node receives voice data relating to a voice sample of a subject and an identity of the subject. The voice data is associated with the identity of the subject and stored. A speech sample is subsequently received from a traffic node, the speech sample having been obtained from a telecommunications session. A comparison is made between the stored voice data and the speech sample, and a determination is made to check whether the speech sample is likely to belong to the subject. If so, then a message identifying the subject is sent towards an LEMF node. The LEMF node can then initiate lawful interception of the telecommunications session. The node allows a target subject to be identified by a voice sample, which makes it much more difficult for a target subject to avoid lawful interception by, for example, using a different device to make a call.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2011Publication date: October 31, 2013Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventor: Angelo Ciriaco

Publication number: 20130287216Abstract: A harmonic echo power estimator estimates power of echo generated by harmonic loudspeaker nonlinearities in a user equipment having an echo path between a loudspeaker input and a microphone output. The estimator includes a frequency band mapper that maps each frequency band in a set of loudspeaker output signal frequency bands into a corresponding array of loudspeaker input signal frequency bands, where each frequency band in the set is mapped into several frequency bands in the corresponding array. A power estimator determines a power estimate of each input signal in each array of frequency bands. A power estimate combiner combines determined power estimates in each array of frequency bands into a corresponding estimate of loudspeaker input power generating harmonic loudspeaker nonlinearities. A power estimate transformer transforms the estimates of loudspeaker input power across the echo path into power estimates of the echo generated by the harmonic loudspeaker nonlinearities.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 3, 2011Publication date: October 31, 2013Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Anders Eriksson, Per Åhgren
