Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for managing performance optimization of applications executed by an Information Handling System (IHS) are described. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, an IHS may include computer-executable instructions for determining one or more resource performance features of a resource used by the IHS using a first machine learning (ML) service, and determining one or more application performance features of a target application executed by the resource using a second ML service. Using the determined resource performance features and the application performance features, the instructions may generate a profile recommendation for the target application, and adjust one or more settings of the resource to optimize a performance of the target application executed by the resource.

Abstract: An example lubricant application device includes a rotatable applicator to apply a lubricant from a solid lubricant source to a rotating member, a support member to support the solid lubricant source in contact with the rotatable applicator, a near-end detection member and an end detection member coupled to the support member. The near-end detection member is coupled to the support member such that it comes in contact with the rotatable applicator after a first amount of the solid lubricant source has been consumed. The end detection member is coupled to the support member such that it comes in contact with the rotatable applicator after a second amount of the solid lubricant source has been consumed.

Abstract: A method is presented to prevent formation of a scar or keloid following an insult to an area of a mammalian skin creating a lesion defining an outer surface, where the lesion reaches at least the dermis of the skin. The method includes irradiating the lesion with electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength between 410 nm and 430 nm for an exposure time long enough that the energy density received by the outer surface of the lesion is comprised between 15 J/cm2 and 120 J/cm2.

Abstract: In an example method, a liquid crystal display (LCD) is illuminated using a first number of local dimming zones. A second number of local dimming zones that overlap the first number of local dimming zones is determined. The LCD is illuminated using the second number of local dimming zones.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving, by a first radio module at a first location, a wireless signal, to obtain a first received RF signal. The wireless signal includes information originating at a remote transmitter and conveyed via a wireless channel. An envelope of the first received RF signal is detected by the first radio module without requiring a local oscillator, to obtain a first baseband signal. The first baseband signal may be filtered and/or amplified, after which it is provided to a processor. The processor also obtains a second digital signal from a second radio module receiving the wireless signal at a second location and determines an estimate of the information originating at the remote transmitter according to the first and second signals. The first server is configured to receive a list of source addresses associated with the content, and to provide a metadata file including an anycast Internet protocol address of the anycast server from the list of source addresses as an Internet protocol address of the content in response to a first request for the content. When the number of client devices requesting the content exceeds a first threshold, the first server receives an updated list of sources including a multicast Internet protocol address of a multicast server, and provides the multicast Internet protocol address of the multicast server as the Internet protocol address of the content in the metadata file.

Abstract: The use of lipo-amino acid alkyl esters as SPF (Sun Protection Factor) boosters in cosmetic compositions containing a sun filter is described. The alkyl esters, when added to cosmetic compositions containing a sun filter, increase their SPF value by 50% or higher. As a result, the amount of sun filter in the cosmetics can be significantly reduced while maintaining a high SPF. The SPF booster effect was observed in different types of cosmetic compositions and with different sun filters. The alkyl esters have a strong natural connotation and can be obtained by eco-friendly synthesis methods. Photoprotective cosmetic compositions are thereby obtained which are safe to use and have better acceptance by the consumer.

Abstract: Catalytic compositions for depolymerizing polyolefin-based waste material into useful petrochemical products and methods of use are described. The compositions are a composite of at least one zeolite catalyst with one or more co-catalyst(s) that is a solid inorganic material. These composite catalysts, along with heat, are used to both increase the depolymerization reaction rate of the feed streams and suppress poisoning effects of non-polyolefin polymers that may be present. This results in a shorter residence time in the depolymerization unit and more efficient process.
