  • Patent number: 11354158
Abstract: Novel techniques are described for platooning of computational resources in automated vehicle networks. An on-board computational processor of an automated vehicle typically performs a large number of computational tasks, and some of those computational tasks can be computationally intensive. Some such tasks, referred to as platoonable tasks herein, are well-suited for parallel processing by multiple processors. Embodiments can detect one or more on-board computational processors in one or more automated vehicles that are likely, during the time window in which the platoonable task will be executed, to have available computational resources and to be traveling along respective paths that are close enough to each other to allow for ad hoc network communications to be established between the processors. In response to detecting such cases, embodiments can schedule and instruct shared execution of the platoonable tasks by the multiple processors via the ad hoc network.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to electrically confined ballistic devices, circuits, and networks. One such device includes a heterostructure that has a first semiconductor layer, a second semiconductor layer, and a two-dimensional electrode gas (2DEG) layer between the first and second semiconductor layers. The device further includes an input electrode electrically coupled to the 2DEG layer and an output electrode electrically coupled to the 2DEG layer. A first confinement electrode is positioned on the heterostructure. The first confinement electrode, in use, generates first space charge regions which at least partially define a boundary of the ballistic device within the 2DEG layer between the input electrode and the output electrode in response to a first voltage.

  • Patent number: 11354138
Abstract: Plugin loading can be optimized. A service can use a plugin loader to load plugins on a computing device. When the plugin loader loads plugins, the plugins can be configured to determine their load statuses and report such load statuses to the plugin loader. After receiving the load statuses, the plugin loader can store the load statuses and then notify the service to request a restart. When the service restarts the plugin loader, the plugin loader can use the load statuses to determine which of the plugins should be loaded. In this way, the service and plugin loader can ensure that only plugins that are appropriate for a particular computing device will remain loaded.

  • Patent number: 11356994
Abstract: An adaptive two-stage downlink control channel structure is utilized for control channel transmission with code block group (CBG) retransmission for 5G and other next generation wireless systems. In an aspect, the first stage of the two-stage downlink control channel structure utilizes a defined format (e.g., having a fixed length) and provides information that is employable to determine the length and/or coding scheme of the second stage. In another aspect, the second stage of the two-stage downlink control channel structure utilizes a variable length/size to indicate the CBGs that are scheduled to be retransmitted (e.g., by employing a variable length bitmap). As an example, the length/size is varied based on a length/size of a transport block, from which the CBGs have been generated.
