Abstract: An unavailable memory device initialization system includes a memory controller device that is configured to determine whether a memory system includes unavailable memory devices during initialization operations. During the first initialization operations, a BIOS engine identifies unavailable memory device(s) in the memory system that were determined to be unavailable by the memory controller device during the first initialization operations and, in response, stores respective unavailable memory device identifier(s) associated with each unavailable memory device in a non-volatile storage subsystem.

Abstract: A method may be provided in a basic input/output system embodied in persistent memory including two data areas for storing data associated with the basic input/output system and a code area comprising firmware for performing functionality of the basic input/output system. The method may include, at any given time, designating one of the data areas as a non-transitory data area and designating the other of the data areas as a transitory data area; and for each item of data associated with the basic input/output system, determining if such item of data is non-transitory-type data or transitory-type data, storing such item of data in the non-transitory data area if such item of data is determined to be non-transitory-type data, and storing such item of data in the transitory data area if such item of data is determined to be transitory-type data.

Abstract: In an example, a method includes receiving, at a processor, a data model of an object to be generated in additive manufacturing. A virtual build volume comprising a representation of at least a portion of the object may be segmented into a plurality of nested segments comprising a core segment and a peripheral segment. Segmenting the virtual build volume may comprise determining a dimension of the peripheral segment based on at least one of a geometry of the object and an intended object property.

Abstract: Example implementations relate to an arc bar flexible display. For example, an apparatus includes a flexible display device and a support structure adjacent to the flexible display device. The apparatus also includes an arc bar device coupled to the support structure, where a portion of the arc bar device is slidable within a guide mechanism to allow the flexible display device to transform from a flat configuration to a curved configuration.

Abstract: Information handling systems, methods, and computer-readable media enable gameplay event detection and gameplay enhancement operations. One or more in-game events may be detected by monitoring audio content, by monitoring video content, by monitoring user input, by monitoring other information, or a combination thereof. The one or more in-game events (and information related to the one or more in-game events) may be stored at a database. Information of the database may be accessed to trigger one or more gameplay enhancement operations. The one or more gameplay enhancement operations may include an automatic highlight capture operation, a dynamic screen aggregation operation, a dynamic position switch operation, a dynamic player switch operation, a gameplay enhancement operation using one or more peripheral devices (e.g., a lighting effect or a haptic feedback event), one or more other gameplay enhancement operations, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: An active stylus couples to an information handling system by a removable clip that inserts into a slot formed in the information handling system housing. Power to charge a battery of the active stylus passes from an interface internal to the information handling system, through the clip and to a charger in the active stylus. The active stylus clip releases the active stylus in the presence of excessive force to prevent damage to the information handling system and active stylus.

Abstract: Data Center Bridge (DCB)-based path selection methods and systems reduce packet loss in a network system comprising a Link Aggregation Group (LAG) topology. In embodiments, once traffic received at a LAG node and identified as DCB traffic, links whose DCB status are identified as “up” are assigned to a LAG sub-trunk that may be used to forward the DCB traffic on the LAG trunk, while non-DCB traffic is forwarded to any member of the LAG, irrespective of DCB status. In addition, DCB traffic received from a LAG peer node, which sends traffic on an inter-node link (INL) when no DCB-enabled links to a downstream device are present, is identified as DCB traffic and forwarded on a LAG sub-trunk that comprises DCB-enabled links. An egress mask that indicates to not forward the traffic received at the LAG node on the INL may be overridden, such that DCB traffic may be forwarded.

Abstract: Virtualized gaming as a network service is provided where instead of using a cloud based virtualized gaming console, a virtual machine can be instantiated at an edge network device in a radio access network to decrease the latency of communications between the user equipment device and the virtualized gaming console. Another virtue of placing the gaming console in the network is that the processing, memory storage and other hardware requirements can be offloaded to the network, allowing the user equipment device to be able to handle a broad range of games, without being limited by processing power and battery usage. The user equipment device can be treated as a thin-client device, receiving control data, video data, and audio data that can be played back at the user equipment device.

Abstract: In some examples, a server may retrieve and parse test results associated with testing a software package. The server may determine a weighted sum of a software feature index associated with a quality of the plurality of features, a defect index associated with the defects identified by the test cases, a test coverage index indicating a pass rate of the plurality of test cases, a release release reliability index associated with results of executing regression test cases included in the test cases, and an operational quality index associated with resources and an environment associated with the software package. The server may use a machine learning algorithm, such as a time series forecasting algorithm, to forecast a release status of the software package. The server may determine, based on the release status, whether the software package is to progress from a current phase to a next phase of a development cycle.

Other storage management applications poll their local storage arrays, discover the files, and then decode and read the communications. The communications may include messages, requests, and responses. Topics of interest may be specified in messages. Specific storage arrays may be designated as targets of requests. Responses are sent by encoding the responses as XML files and writing the files to respective local storage arrays under a shared operating system.

Abstract: A system can receive a guardrail policy request that specifies a guardrail policy to assess for deployment on a server to protect at least a specific port of the server. The system can execute a fingerprint clustering machine learning model using server fingerprint data to generate cluster data that identifies a virtual machine cluster that includes a plurality of virtual machines executed by the server. The system can execute a traffic discovery machine learning model using server traffic data and the cluster data to generate a confidence score indicative of whether deployment of the guardrail policy would have an adverse impact on the server. The system can execute a risk assessment machine learning model using the application type data to generate a risk assessment score. The system can evaluate the confidence score and the risk assessment score and can determine whether the guardrail policy should be deployed on the server.
