Abstract: In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, a system is described. The system includes a pose estimator to identify a plurality of anatomical points on a person depicted in an image. A frame former of the system generates a frame for the person by connecting a first set of the plurality of anatomical points to form a skeleton and forming at least a head region and a torso region of the person based on a second set of the plurality of anatomical points. A map generator of the system generates a spatial gradient map projecting outwards from the frame. In the system, the spatial gradient map is based on pixel distance from the frame and an intensity along the gradient map indicates a pixels likelihood of form a part of the person.

Abstract: A system and method for ensuring information present in volatile memory is moved to persistent memory before power is removed. An information handling system stores a time value corresponding to an amount of time for power to be supplied to the information handling system after a signal is received to power down the information handling system. An embedded controller determines the amount of information present in volatile memory, determines an amount of time needed to move the information to persistent memory, and adjusts the time value as needed to ensure power is supplied to the system until the information has been moved to persistent memory.

Abstract: A resource reservation system includes a media module that includes a plurality of media devices and a media controller that is coupled to the plurality of media devices. The media controller retrieves media device attributes from each of the plurality of media devices that identify performance capabilities for each of the plurality of media devices and determines one or more media module partitions that are included in the media module. Each of the one or more media module partitions are provided by a subset of the plurality of media devices. The media controller then determines, for each of the media module partitions, a minimum partition performance for that media module partition based the media device attributes for the subset of the one or more media devices that provide that partition and provides the minimum partition performance for each of the media module partitions to a resource reservation device.

Abstract: A double shoulder threaded tool joint connection includes a pin with external threads formed between a pin external shoulder and a pin internal shoulder, the pin including a nose section between the pin internal shoulder and the pin external thread and a box with internal threads formed between a box external shoulder and a box internal shoulder. The internal threads and the external threads are arranged and designed for connection with each other so that the box and the pin are connected with a common center-line and with a primary seal formed by the pin external shoulder forced against the box external shoulder and a secondary seal formed between the pin internal shoulder forced again the box internal shoulder. The invention may be applied to any threaded joint.

Abstract: A system may include a transmitter, a receiver, a cable coupled between the transmitter and the receiver and having two wires for communicating a differential signal from the transmitter to the receiver, and a direct-current (DC) voltage source coupled to a first wire of the two wires of the cable and configured to apply a variable DC offset voltage to the first wire in order to vary an impedance of the cable as a function of the variable DC offset voltage.

Abstract: A removable adapter device is integrated into a cradle for holding a handheld scanner. The adapter device enables the cradle to be removed and reattached or removed and replaced with another cradle without needing access to or changing cables that connect the cradle to a host system. The adapter device provides a standardize configuration, connection, or both to allow simplified replacement of different manufacturer cradles and scanners without concern about the cable connection to the host system. The adapter device acts as an interface for data and power transmission between the cradle and the host system.

The trigger rotationally couples to the axle at a trigger bracket that fixedly coupled to a frame. A guide integrated in the frame engages a member extending from the trigger to manage trigger motion. A cover couples to the frame and separate from the trigger to enhance housing robustness.

Abstract: Examples of a fluidic die for thermal zone selection with a circular shift register are described herein. In some examples, the fluidic die includes multiple thermal zones. Each thermal zone includes a temperature sensor and a fluidic actuator. The fluidic die also includes shared thermal control circuitry to process an output of the temperature sensor of a selected thermal zone. The fluidic die further includes a circular shift register that includes multiple memory elements. Each memory element is associated with one thermal zone. A token circulates within the circular shift register to select one thermal zone at a time for processing by the shared thermal control circuitry.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for intelligent caching of concatenative speech units for use in speech synthesis. A system configured to practice the method can identify speech units that are required for synthesizing speech. The system can request from a server the text-to-speech unit needed to synthesize the speech. The system can then synthesize speech using text-to-speech units already stored and a received text-to-speech unit from the server.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide haptic feedback within areas of keyboard using a single haptic device, while isolating the feedback to keys that are being pressed. A keyboard may include multiple key areas. Each key area includes a mechanical actuator. Each key area also includes a sensor layer located below a plurality of haptic key plates and located above the mechanical actuator. Each key area also includes a flexible membrane that dampens haptic feedback and separates each of the haptic key plates from neighboring key plates. Each key area also includes haptic key plates that each include one or more protrusions. When a key plate is pressed, protrusions of the pressed key plate contact the sensor layer to trigger activation of the mechanical actuator to generate haptic feedback. The protrusions of the pressed key plate transmit the generated haptic feedback from the mechanical actuator to the key plate.

Abstract: Techniques for controlling parameters for uplink transmission associated with a device to facilitate improving a communication condition metric(s) (CCM(s)) of the uplink transmission are presented. A communication management component (CMC) can determine whether CCM satisfies a first threshold CCM. If CCM does not, CMC can modify a parameter(s) to reduce a number of resource blocks or an MCS value to improve the CCM. If respective minimum threshold levels have been reached for the number of resource blocks and MCS value, and CCM still is not satisfying the first threshold CCM, CMC can modify a parameter to increase an amount of repetition of data packets for uplink transmission (unless a maximum threshold amount of repetition is reached). If CCM satisfies an applicable threshold CCM for a defined amount of time, CMC can modify parameters to increase the number of resource blocks, increase MCS value, or reduce repetition of data packets.

Abstract: A clustered memory system includes a first computing system coupled to a second computing system via a network, and including a clustered memory management subsystem coupled to a central processing subsystem and a networking device. The clustered memory management subsystem receives a processor memory-centric access request associated with a memory access operation from the central processing subsystem, and uses memory management hardware to determine that the processor memory-centric access request is directed to a second memory subsystem in the second computing system. The clustered memory management subsystem then uses remote memory access hardware to generate memory access information for performing the memory access operation at the second memory subsystem, and instructs the networking device to utilize the memory access information to transmit at least one memory access communication that provides for the performance of the memory access operation at the second memory subsystem.

Abstract: Examples disclosed herein relate to selecting a 3D printing parameter based on voxel property association and conflict resolution. In one implementation, a processor assigns properties to a voxel of a 3D print object based on a first and second zone including the voxel and a condition of a first property associated with the first zone and a condition of a second property associated with the second zone. The processor may update the assigned properties to resolve conflicts between the properties and select a 3D printing parameter based on the assigned properties.

Abstract: End user presence and absence states are determined at an information handling system by analyzing infrared time of flight sensor presence detection information detected at plural peripherals each having an infrared time of flight sensor. In one example embodiment, a peripheral includes processing capabilities to analyze the infrared time of flight sensor presence detection information to determine the end user presence and absence state for communication to an embedded controller. In an alternative embodiment, infrared time of flight presence detection information includes sensed distances provided to a central processing unit integrated sensor hub either directly or with a subscription by the integrated sensor hub to the embedded controller.
