    Abstract: Methods and systems for remotely monitoring trailer or trailers attached to a vehicle is provided. The method includes associating an identification tag or ABS ECU that is configured to broadcast a trailer identification signal with a trailer. The method further includes receiving the trailer identification signal on-board the vehicle, associating the trailer identification signal with the vehicle, transmitting the trailer identification signal to a remote processor and receiving the trailer identification signal at the remote processor. The system comprises a mobile data terminal capable of generating and responding to telematic events comprising at least one processor, a graphical user interface, an input device, a memory and a set of executable instructions which may include a plurality of modules, such as a vehicle location module capable of receiving a GPS signal and transmitting the GPS signal to a remote processor for determining a location of a transportation unit.

    Abstract: A radio receiver receives multiple radio frequency (RF) carriers where each RF carrier corresponds to a logical entity or object used in multi-carrier communications called a cell. A receiving radio node receives signals on serving cells, including a serving cell on a primary carrier and a serving cell on a secondary carrier, and on neighboring cells, including a neighboring cell on the primary carrier and a neighboring cell on the secondary carrier. Initially, a power delay profile is calculated for each of the serving cells and the neighboring cells. An association is determined between at least one cell on the primary carrier and at least one cell on the secondary carrier based on the calculated power delay profiles. The association is then later used in performing interference cancellation in the radio node.

    Abstract: A passive network measurement based solution for estimating user-perceived TCP throughput in a mobile PS network is provided. Instead of direct detection of TCP bulk data periods and server side limitations, the diversity of TCP connection end-points on the Internet side is exploited. The TCP throughput at an interface of the mobile network from/to each server on the Internet side during a file/object transfer of bulk date periods is monitored and measured and the servers are ranked according to their throughput statistics. The top performing servers are grouped into classes by statistical algorithms. The throughput samples from the users towards the servers belonging to the top group of highest average throughput are averaged to obtain a proper estimation for the user-perceived TCP throughput.

    Abstract: An error-correcting coding method generates code words of m bits from useful data blocks of n bits. The method adds k check bits to a block of n useful data bits in order to generate a code word of m=n+k bits, said check bits being defined according to the combination rules defined by a parity matrix H consisting of binary elements and having k rows and m columns such that H·V=0, V being a column matrix whose m elements are the m bits of the code word to be generated. The k check bits are separated into two groups, on the one hand a group of k1 bits called total parity bits PT and on the other hand a group of k2 bits called conventional check bits VC, the values of k, k1 and k2 satisfying the conditions k=k1+k2 and k>k1>2, the matrix H whose columns can be swapped being broken down into six submatrices A, B, C, D, E and F. Another method detects multiple errors in code words generated by the coding method.
