Publication number: 20120106324Abstract: In a mobile network with a plurality of access networks (210, 220), a control node (110) which is controlling access of a user equipment (300) to that one of the access networks (210, 220) which is currently used by the user equipment (300) determines an access capability of the user equipment (300) in said access network (210, 220), e.g. support of voice communication over packet switched access. The control node (110) provides an indication of the determined access capability to a subscriber database (150) associated with the user equipment (300). The indication may then be retrieved from the subscriber database (150) and be used to control termination of a connection to the user equipment (300).Type: ApplicationFiled: June 8, 2010Publication date: May 3, 2012Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Ralf Keller, Peter Hedman, Fredrik Lindholm, Magnus Olsson

Publication number: 20120106530Abstract: A radio receiver receives multiple radio frequency (RF) carriers where each RF carrier corresponds to a logical entity or object used in multi-carrier communications called a cell. A receiving radio node receives signals on serving cells, including a serving cell on a primary carrier and a serving cell on a secondary carrier, and on neighboring cells, including a neighboring cell on the primary carrier and a neighboring cell on the secondary carrier. Initially, a power delay profile is calculated for each of the serving cells and the neighboring cells. An association is determined between at least one cell on the primary carrier and at least one cell on the secondary carrier based on the calculated power delay profiles. The association is then later used in performing interference cancellation in the radio node.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 2, 2010Publication date: May 3, 2012Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Oskar Drugge, Muhammad Kazmi

Publication number: 20120109768Abstract: A method and arrangement for enabling a purchase of a media object for a user operating a user terminal (200). The media object is owned by a media provider (204) and is presented to the user by a media sender (202) controlled by a media sending party. The user terminal obtains (2:2) from the media sender a media ID that identifies the media object and a sender ID that identifies the media sender. When receiving (2:3) an input command from the user, the terminal makes (2:4) a purchase request referring to the media ID and sender ID, which may be sent to the user's home network operator (206) or to the media provider or to a separate purchase handler. The media provider then delivers (2:7) the media object to the user, the user is charged (2:10) for the media purchase, the media provider receives payment for the purchase, and the media sending party receives compensation (2:9) for the user's purchase of the media object.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2009Publication date: May 3, 2012Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventor: Joakim Söderberg

Publication number: 20120110012Abstract: A passive network measurement based solution for estimating user-perceived TCP throughput in a mobile PS network is provided. Instead of direct detection of TCP bulk data periods and server side limitations, the diversity of TCP connection end-points on the Internet side is exploited. The TCP throughput at an interface of the mobile network from/to each server on the Internet side during a file/object transfer of bulk date periods is monitored and measured and the servers are ranked according to their throughput statistics. The top performing servers are grouped into classes by statistical algorithms. The throughput samples from the users towards the servers belonging to the top group of highest average throughput are averaged to obtain a proper estimation for the user-perceived TCP throughput.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2009Publication date: May 3, 2012Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Tamas Borsos, László Kovács

Publication number: 20120110409Abstract: An error-correcting coding method generates code words of m bits from useful data blocks of n bits. The method adds k check bits to a block of n useful data bits in order to generate a code word of m=n+k bits, said check bits being defined according to the combination rules defined by a parity matrix H consisting of binary elements and having k rows and m columns such that H·V=0, V being a column matrix whose m elements are the m bits of the code word to be generated. The k check bits are separated into two groups, on the one hand a group of k1 bits called total parity bits PT and on the other hand a group of k2 bits called conventional check bits VC, the values of k, k1 and k2 satisfying the conditions k=k1+k2 and k>k1>2, the matrix H whose columns can be swapped being broken down into six submatrices A, B, C, D, E and F. Another method detects multiple errors in code words generated by the coding method.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2010Publication date: May 3, 2012Applicant: COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE ET AUX ENERGIES ALTERNATIVESInventors: Valentin Gherman, Samuel Evain

Publication number: 20120106488Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements for introducing an automatic one-time configuration ;of the DNS server(s) when a base station gateway, such as an HeNB GW, is deployed, such that the FQDN-to-HeNB GW IP address translation data is proactively configured. This is performed to identify the base station gateway address to which subsequently deployed base stations will be connected. That is, the FQDN-to-HeNB GW IP address translation data for the HeNB IDs of all the HeNBs that may potentially connect to the HeNB GW is proactively configured in the DNS server(s), thereby avoiding frequent and constantly ongoing DNS configuration during normal network operation. This configuration of the DNS allows the eNB to obtain the destination address for an X2 connection without knowing about an eventual HeNB GW, nor the addressing details, such as size/length (or fixed number of bits) of the HeNB GW ID.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2009Publication date: May 3, 2012Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Tomas Nylander, Johan Rune, Jari Vikberg
