  • Patent number: 8038464
Abstract: An electrical connector for electronics applications such as avionics or the like includes an adaptable strain relief feature for accommodating different sizes of wire bundles that terminate and are electrically coupled within the connector. The strain relief feature includes a pair of clamping members that span between mounting surfaces at a rear portion of the connector to define a strain relief passageway in which the wire bundle is clamped to provide a strain relief. The clamping members are selectable from at least two different available shapes so that the size of the strain relief passageway is determined by the selection of clamping members, which may be interchangeable with one another. Resilient pads on the clamping members engage and compress against the wire bundle to secure it in place when the selected clamping members are installed.

  • Publication number: 20110248005
Abstract: A method of cutting a work-piece to be cut by a laser beam, in which an incident laser beam is generated that has an initial beam parameter product (BPP), given by means of a laser source, preferably an ytterbium-doped or erbium-doped fiber laser source, coupled to at least one optical fiber for conveying the beam. Said incident laser beam is brought to a focusing head comprising at least one optical focusing device. The incident laser beam is focused by means of said optical focusing device, so as to obtain a focused laser beam, and the work-piece is cut by means of the focused laser beam. According to the invention, the quality factor of the incident laser beam is adjusted or modified by means of an optical device designed to be able to modify or vary the BPP of a laser beam so as to obtain a modified focused laser beam having a modified BPP which is different from the BPP of said incident laser beam. Associated equipment for implementing said method.

Abstract: Method for the treatment of a semiconductor substrate (2), in which an ion beam (4) is produced from a doping gas and is directed onto the semiconductor substrate (2), characterized in that the doping gas is fed through a plastic hose (6) to a unit (3) for producing an ion beam (4), and is then ionized. The method and the device advantageously permit the supply of the unit 3 for producing an ion beam 4 with a doping gas from customary gas reservoirs 14 such as customary compressed gas cylinders, for example. Voltage flashovers from the deflection elements 5 are effectively prevented by the use of a plastic hose 6. The method and the device thus permit the simple construction of a corresponding ion implantation apparatus in conjunction with possible inexpensive supply thereof with doping gas.
