Patents Assigned to Land Rover
  • Patent number: 11897456
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a controller (200), comprising input means (230) for receiving an environment signal indicative of a feature in a vicinity of a vehicle, output means (240) for outputting a manoeuvre signal to cause a vehicle to perform a defined manoeuvre, and control means (210) arranged to provide at least one mode for performing at least a portion of the defined manoeuvre, the mode being selectable from a plurality of modes including at least one mode corresponding to an occupant-in-vehicle mode and at least one mode corresponding to an occupant-out-of-vehicle mode, the mode being selectable in dependence upon the environment signal being indicative of a vehicle envelope suitable for the mode.

  • Patent number: 11889010
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a computer-implemented method of generating contact recommendations for a vehicle communication apparatus, comprising determining (110) a plurality of vehicle contact events associated with a communication device, determining (120) a distance between one or more current parameters and one or more parameters associated with each of the vehicle contact events, and generating (130) one or more contact recommendations according to the distance.

  • Patent number: 11884181
Abstract: A method for determining a minimum state of charge for an energy storage means of a vehicle can include: determining a routine of use of charge of the energy storage means; determining a user requirement for future driving of the vehicle; predicting a reduction in the state of charge of the energy storage means associated with the user requirement in dependence on the determined routine; determining a minimum state of charge for the energy storage means for enabling the user requirement to be satisfied in dependence on the predicted reduction; and providing an output to the user indicative of a time requirement for increasing the state of charge of the energy storage means to a value at or above the minimum state of charge.

  • Patent number: 11865946
Abstract: A controller (100) for a vehicle (1), the vehicle comprising: a powertrain (1P) comprising an electric machine (50) for providing motive power; cooling means (60, 80); and electrical energy storage means (70) for powering the electric machine (50), wherein the cooling means (60, 80) is configured to cool the electrical energy storage means (70) and a cabin (1C) of the vehicle and the vehicle (1) is configured to operate in a first or second driving mode, the controller (100) comprising: an input for receiving information indicative of a temperature of the energy storage means (70); and a processor arranged to generate a control signal in dependence on the information indicative of temperature of the energy storage means (70) and information indicative of the selected driving mode of the vehicle, wherein: if the vehicle is in the first driving mode the processor is configured to generate the control signal to limit or reduce an amount of power consumed by the powertrain (1P) in dependence on the information

  • Patent number: 11858513
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of generating a target operational speed band (53; 63; 67) for a host vehicle (1) travelling along a route. A first time-dependent obstacle (15-n, 18-n) is identified at a first location on the route. The first time-dependent obstacle (15-n, 18-n) is identified as hindering progress of the host vehicle (1) during a first time period (11). The first time-lin dependent obstacle (15-n, 18-n) is defined in a two-dimensional speed against distance map (50, 60). A first speed trajectory (51, 52; 61; 65, 66) is determined from a first point to a second point within the two-dimensional speed against distance map (50, 60). The second point represents the first location on the route and the determined first speed trajectory (51, 52; 61; 65, 66) represents the host vehicle (1) arriving at the first location at a first arrival time.
