Patents Assigned to Lange International S.A.
  • Patent number: 4523392
Abstract: This lining consists of an assembly of flexible panels assembled to constitute a kind of slipper having two lateral pockets opening to the rear for introducing a one-piece padding into the pockets, this padding extending to the rear on either side of the lining. The two lateral pockets extend on both sides in the front portion of the lining and comprise at the rear a substantially vertical opening. Furthermore, the lining comprises an outer one-piece sheathing covering the lower rear portion of the upper, the heel and the lateral portions at the rear of the two front lateral pockets. This sheathing is fastened permanently to the upper along its upper edge and detachably, at least through its vertical edges, to the other portions of the lining, so as to cover the edges of the openings of the two front lateral pockets. The one-piece padding is detachably housed under the sheathing and in the lateral pockets.

  • Patent number: 4499676
Abstract: This ski boot comprises a member for locking the upper in relation to the lower portion of the boot in the downhill running position, in the form of a rocker pivoted to a transverse axis in a cavity formed in the pivoted upper of the boot, and adapted to cooperate with a stop carried by the lower portion of the boot. The rocker can be released from the stop for straightening the skier's leg to a walking or non-skiing position by simply depressing the upper portion of the rocker. When the skier bends his leg the rocker is restored automatically to its locked position by a spring.

  • Patent number: 4433494
Abstract: The invention relates to a padding allowing an article of clothing or an accessory to be adapted closely to a part of the human body. This padding is constituted by a thermo-formable plastic foam 2 placed in a non-extensible covering 1 and making an open cavity intended to receive the part of the body, but of which the dimensions are generally smaller than this part of the body. The housing is thus formed by the reciprocal compression of the foam and of the part of the body placed in the cavity while the temperature of the foam is brought to the thermo-forming temperature. This invention can be used for adapting boots, helmets, gloves, swimming flippers, etc.

  • Patent number: 4433457
Abstract: This fastener for closing two opposed closure flaps of a sports footwear, notably a ski boot, comprises on a first flap of the footwear a coupling member adapted to interconnect these flaps, means for anchoring one end of the coupling member to a catch member secured to the one flap, a binding lever pivoted to a support fixed to the other flap of the footwear and having pivoted thereto the other end of the coupling member and comprising beyond its pivot point a rigid extension lying substantially within the plane and thickness of the binding lever extension for interlocking substantially in a common plane the end of the lever extension and the binding lever in their closed and fold-down position which is also the closed position of the fastener itself.

  • Patent number: 4424636
Abstract: This buckle fastener for ski boots or other sports footwear comprises a closing wireform adapted to be tensioned by a latch. The latch is pivoted to the end of an arm having its other end pivoted to one boot portion. In the closed position the latch is locked by a hook cooperating with the pivot pin connecting the arm to the boot. Means are provided on the latch for releasing this hook to open the fastener.

  • Patent number: 4398359
Abstract: A plastic ski boot having an attachment member mounted on its lower between the toe and heel, is adapted to be releasably attached to a ski. The toe and heel portions of the boot are shaped to facilitate safe and comfortable walking and standing, and at least part of the sole walking surfaces are covered with a high friction plastic for walking purposes. The forward lean angle of the boot when out of the binding can be lesser than normal to provide comfortable standing and walking, and the ski binding with which the boot is adapted to cooperate adds sufficient forward lean angle for skiing purposes when the boot is in the binding.

  • Patent number: 4349971
Abstract: A forward lean adjuster for ski boots includes a stand adapted to be secured to a ski boot lower and a slide plate adapted to be secured to the boot upper. Operating mechanism coupling the stand to the slide plate includes an adjuster body pivotally mounted on the stand and having an operating knob, an adjuster screw in the body to which the knob is secured, and a trunnion on the screw. A cover acting as a lever is pivoted at one end on the trunnion and at its other end on the stand, and the three pivots are positioned to provide over-center operation. With the adjustment body in its open or off position, the stand and slide plate are relatively movable and the ski boot is free hinging. Rotation of the knob and screw moves the trunnion. The forward lean angle of the boot is then altered when the adjustment body is moved through its over-center position to its closed or on position, securing the boot upper and lower against movement.
