  • Patent number: 4271855
Abstract: Herein disclosed is a coin selecting apparatus for selecting or classifying mixed coins in accordance with their diameters. The coin selecting apparatus includes a selecting track which is formed in its bottom with a plurality of selecting holes. These holes are arranged in a row in the flow direction of the coins and are sized to have stepwisely larger widths in the downstream direction of the coin flow so that they may allow the coins to pass down therethrough to be classified. The coin selecting apparatus further includes a selecting belt mechanism which is operative to convey the coins on the selecting track so that coins may fall into the selecting holes in order of increasing coin diameter.

  • Patent number: 4272067
Abstract: In a machine for counting the number of sheets by bringing a stack of sheets in turn into abutment against a plurality of rotating suction heads, which are adapted to attract the sheets and deflect them one after another away from the remaining stack of sheets, an apparatus for holding the stack of sheets and adjusting the pressing force under which the stack of sheets is brought into abutment against the suction heads. The apparatus has a rotatable holder and a rotatable support rod for holding therebetween the stack of sheets. Associated with the holder and the support rod are two springs which present different tensile forces in opposite directions with respect to the holder and the support rod so that the pressing force may be determined by the effect of the tensile force difference between the tensile forces of the two springs.

  • Patent number: 4270557
Abstract: Herein disclosed is an incorrectness detecting device for detecting the coin piling condition in a piling cylinder of a coin packaging machine. The detecting device includes a sensor which is made coactive with a coin kind selecting dial so that its height may be varied in accordance with the height corresponding to a preset number of coins piled. Further inclusive is a detecting element which is to be brought downwardly into contact with the upper side of the uppermost one of the piled coins, when the preset number of coins are piled in the piling cylinder, so that an electric circuit may be made through the piled coins. Further inclusive is a sensor element which is made coactive with the detecting element while corresponding to the sensor. As a result, the coil piling condition can be detected in response to both the signals, which are generated by the interaction between the sensor and its element, and the signals which are generated by the electric circuit made through the coins.

  • Patent number: 4268024
Abstract: A bank note holding method for a counting machine which counts bank notes or the like. These bank notes are placed upon a holder and are clamped with a keep rod. The bank notes thus placed and clamped are forced into abutment contact with a plurality of suction cylinders, which are made operable to make planetary movements, so that they may be sucked and separated one by one by the suction cylinders, thus accomplishing counting operation. For this purpose, the bank notes are arranged uniformly on the holder, and then the keep rod is moved toward the holder by depressing a push button so that the bank notes may be forced into contact with and held upon the holder. The push button is then released so that the holder may be moved to its counting position thereby to start the counting operation. After this operation, the holder and the keep rod are returned to their respective initial positions.

  • Patent number: 4263770
Abstract: Herein disclosed is a vibration interrupting device for use with a coin wrapping machine, in which coins are conveyed, while being counted, to a piling cylinder, in which this cylinder is vibrated by a vibrator so that the coins may be regularly piled in the cylinder, and in which a preset number of coins piled are carried to wrapping rollers by a coin receiving arm so that they may be wrapped. The vibration interrupting device includes a brake circuit which is operative to control the vibrator such that the vibrations to be applied to the piling cylinder are promptly interrupted by the time when the coin receiving arm is brought to receive the preset number of the coins piled in the cylinder. Thus, the coins piled can be prevented from being destroyed to pieces or getting scattered or lost when they are to be carried by the coin receiving arm.
