  • Patent number: 4539702
Abstract: A discriminating method, wherein a bill pattern is extracted in accordance with signals derived from selected optimum channels out of a plurality of channels connected to sensors disposed in the path across which a bill moves and the bill is discriminated through comparing the bill pattern with a reference pattern set up previously in accordance with the discriminating operational modes and the kind of bill. Bill discriminating units are provided, each having a RAM and a multiplexer. The RAM permits writing of any desired reference pattern therein, while the multiplexer selects any desired channels. Because of this arrangement, it is possible to discriminate bills for different operational modes and different kinds of bills.

  • Patent number: 4527845
Abstract: A device for locking a front cover attached to a bank note container box to cover the opening of the box. The device securely locks the front cover in the closed condition when the box is removed from the automatic money depositing and disbursing machine, and releases the front cover automatically when the box is held in position within the machine. The device comprises, in combination, an opening and closing cam and an unlock cam mounted to the machine body, and a lock member and a first unlock lever mounted to the side plate of the box. When the box initially inserted in the machine body is moved to be pulled out, the unlock lever is raised by the unlock cam so that the lock member releases the front cover from the locked condition in which it is locked in the open position. Thereafter the front cover is slowly closed by the action of the opening and closing cam. Then the lock member is moved by the action of a biasing spring to the position for locking the front cover.

  • Patent number: 4504916
Abstract: A paper sheet counting machine for feeding paper sheets, one at a time, and counting the number of the paper sheets, includes a circuit for detecting an abnormal flow of the paper sheets. In the circuit, the lengths of paper sheets are detected. A predetermined number of the detected signals are averaged. The newest length value is compared with the averaged value to provide a difference signal which determines whether an abnormal flow of the paper sheet has occurred. The averaged value is renewed to compensate for deviation of the length values.

  • Patent number: 4436300
Abstract: A paper sheet stripper device of the type used in a paper sheet dispenser, such as a bank note dispenser, in which sheets of paper are sucked by a suction head assembly one by one and passed to a conveyer assembly by the swinging action of the suction head assembly. The improvement proposed is the use of a vacuum source for generating a constant reduced pressure for sucking operation, instead of the conventionally used vacuum source which fluctuates between positive and negative pressures. A valve is interposed between the suction head assembly and the vacuum source so that the suction head assembly communicates with the vacuum source only when the suction head assembly is swung from a sucking position at which it engages with a lower portion of the first sheet of a bundle of paper sheets to a take-up position at which the sucked paper sheet is passed to the conveyer assembly.
