Abstract: Disclosed are a medium discrimination apparatus and a discrimination method thereof. If a paper money is introduced through a paper money inlet, first and second magnetic sensors 110a and 110b sense a magnetic component printed on a specific position of the paper money, and delivers analog signals for the magnetic component to first and second amplifier/band-pass filters 120a and 120b. The first and second amplifier/band-pass filters 120a and 120b receive and amplify the analog signals and filter noises contained in the analog signals. A differential AD converter 130 performs a subtraction operation based on two filtered analog signals and then converts a result signal into a digital signal. One digital signal in which most noise is canceled is obtained. A controller 140 reads the digital signal to discriminate if the introduced paper money is genuine or counterfeit. The controller 140 reads one digital signal so that time take to perform operations is reduced.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a media separating device of an automatic media dispenser. In the present invention, a pick-up bracket 34 is rotatably provided so that it is pushed by a push plate 32 for pushing media received in a media box 30. A pick-up roller 38 is rotatably installed to the pick-up bracket 34 to pick up and convey the medium. In addition, a skew of the medium picked up by the pick-up roller 38 is detected by a skew detecting sensor 80. The media picked up by the pick-up roller 38 is separated one by one by a feed roller 50 and a contra-roller 60. The present invention is provided with an interlocking means for rotating the pick-up bracket 34 in a direction away from the push plate 32 in response to rotation of a feed roller shaft 50? provided with the feed roller 50 when a skew of the medium is detected and the feed roller 50 is rotated in a direction reverse to a direction in which the medium is conveyed.

  • Patent number: 7789389
Abstract: A media dispenser has a delivery module for feeding media, a stacking module for stacking the media, which are fed through the delivery module, on a stacking plate, and a delivery clamp module for clamping the media stacked on the stacking module and delivering the clamped media to the customer, and for feeding the media, which the customer did not take out, to the stacking plate. A path through which the media clamped by the delivery clamp module are fed to a reject box is opened by moving the stacking plate of the stacking module. The method comprises the steps of returning the media onto the stacking plate by a clamp assembly, opening a reject slot by allowing a driving plate to be moved by a driving source and the stacking plate to be moved together with the driving plate, and dropping the media as the clamp assembly unclamps the media through the opened reject slot.

Abstract: Disclosed is a medium recognition apparatus for determining the type of a medium by using color information obtained by scanning the inserted medium, as well as a method for determining the type of a medium by using the apparatus. Color information and size information obtained by scanning only a partial region of a medium image, the hue of the medium image scanned by the image sensor, or RGB channel color information scanned by the color sensor is compared with pre-stored reference information to determine the type of the medium. This guarantees that the type of the medium is determined quickly and accurately based on simple comparing results.

  • Patent number: 7591462
Abstract: A media transfer method and apparatus enable media to be separated and discharged out of a media cassette of a media dispenser with a uniform transfer interval. The media transfer apparatus includes a pickup roller in contact with media waiting to be discharged, so as to separate and transfer the media sheet by sheet. A main feed roller and a delivery roller transfer a separated sheet of the media to a media transfer route. A sensor detects a front end of the separated sheet, having passed through a juncture between the main feed roller and the delivery roller. When the sensor detects the front end of the separated sheet, a power supplied to the pickup roller is stopped, and the separated sheet continues to be transferred by the driving power of the main feed roller and the delivery roller.

  • Patent number: 7451976
Abstract: A media pickup apparatus includes a push plate for pushing media stored in a cassette body towards a discharge port of the cassette body. A driving source provides power to the push plate so as to allow the push plate to push the media towards the discharge port of the cassette body. A pickup roller is rotatably coupled to one side of a roller bracket and biased towards the push plate by means of an elastic member in such a manner that the pickup roller elastically makes contact with the media pushed by the push plate, in order to discharge the media from a media cassette by separating the media sheet by sheet. A sensor detects a position of the pickup roller so as to provide data for operating the driving source. The media make contact with the pickup roller with a substantially constant contact force so that media are reliably discharged from the media cassette sheet by sheet.

  • Publication number: 20080163356
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method of securing a network. In the present invention, a pattern matching engine 210 corresponding to a first security module initially performs a hardware-based filtering process for a static attack of an input network packet and transmits a normal packet determined to be normal as a result of the filtering to a dynamic attack detection module 230 corresponding to a second security module through a PL3 interface. The dynamic attack detection module 230 performs a hardware-based filtering process for a dynamic attack of the normal packet transmitted from the pattern matching engine 210. The dynamic attack detection module 230 transmits the filtering result to a main CPU 400 through a PCI 300 if filtering the dynamic attack is completed. Then, a main CPU 400 transmits a response policy based on the transmitted filtering result to a response engine 220 through the PCI 300 and the dynamic attack detection module 230 to block an abnormal packet.
