Abstract: A media thickness detector includes a driving force transmission part for removing vibration generated from a driving source. A sensing roller feeds media by receiving the driving force through the driving force transmission part. Sensing bearings are installed on bearing holders and rotate about a central shaft under an elastic force so that they are brought into close contact with the sensing roller. A damper member is connected to the central shaft at a position between the bearing holders and absorbs vibration generated in the central shaft. A thickness sensor detects the thickness of media passing between the sensing bearings and the sensing roller based on a rotating amount of the bearing holders.

Abstract: A media sensing method of a media dispenser is disclosed capable of discriminating various media and accurately discriminating whether a media is normal by using the least sensors. The media sensing method of a media dispenser includes: setting an initial reference range for width and thickness of a media; comparing the initial reference range and a reference range of a currently discharged media; and variably setting a new initial reference range on the basis of the comparison value, thereby discriminating whether media is normal or abnormal. Accordingly, without using an additional sensor, a cost in manufacturing the media dispenser can be reduced, an error caused by various environmental conditions or a deflection taking place in setting sensors can be effectively prevented, a multi-media overlap can be accurately discriminated, and the thickness of discharged multimedia can be precisely measured.

Abstract: A customer access module is provided for a media dispenser. The customer access module includes an accumulation box or receptacle used to accumulate media in the customer access module. The accumulation box or receptacle is rotatably installed to rotate through 360 degrees and includes first and second accumulation surfaces as well as an accumulation space. The accumulation space is in communication with the outside through an opening. The second accumulation surface has a width w smaller than a width of the media and is disposed adjacent to an edge of one side of the opening. The accumulation box or receptacle is rotated about an axis passing through centers of both side ends thereof and receives a driving force from a motor through a driving belt. A collector box or receptacle is installed below the accumulation box so as to collect the media that have not been taken by a customer.

Abstract: A media dispenser module for an ATM is provided which has a secure locking mechanism. The media dispenser module may include a casing that is separatably coupled to a discharge portion for media, including a media mounting portion, on which discharged media is mounted, and an opening portion for withdrawing the media mounted on the media mounting portion. A door moving device moves a door along a plane made by the opening portion, and a pair of catching portions are formed on both sides of the media mounting portion. A locking mechanism engages the catching portions when the door completely closes the opening portion so as not to open the door.

Abstract: A media cassette includes a casing mounted on a mounting portion of a media dispenser, having a stack space in which media are stacked. A discharging slot is formed in the casing for discharging the media stacked in the stack space out of the casing in an edge direction of the media. A slot shielding unit opens the discharging slot when the casing is mounted on the mounting portion and shields the discharging slot when the casing is detached from the mounting portion.

Abstract: A security method and system using a server security solution and a network security solution is disclosed. In the security method based on the security system that has a firewall for blocking malicious access to a corresponding network, a network intrusion prevention system for blocking intrusion into the network and server systems including a mail server and a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server, the server systems transmit information on an intruding system, which has transmitted harmful traffic, to the network intrusion prevention system at the time of detecting the harmful traffic. The network intrusion prevention system blocks the access of the harmful traffic based on the information transmitted from the server systems.

Abstract: The present invention relates to media discharging unit for a media dispenser. The present invention includes a delivery module, which selectively feeds media fed from a media box to a discharge position and a reject position one-by-one using belts and rollers. A stacking module is separable from the delivery module, and collects the media, which are fed by the delivery module, one-by-one upon the rotation of a stacking wheel and then feeds the collected media as a stack at one time. A stack delivery module is separable from the stacking module, and clamps the stacked media, which are collected in the stacking module, and feeds the stacked media to a position where a customer can take the media.

Abstract: A media pickup apparatus includes a push plate for pushing media stored in a cassette body towards a discharge port of the cassette body. A driving source provides power to the push plate so as to allow the push plate to push the media towards the discharge port of the cassette body. A pickup roller is rotatably coupled to one side of a roller bracket and biased towards the push plate by means of an elastic member in such a manner that the pickup roller elastically makes contact with the media pushed by the push plate, in order to discharge the media from a media cassette by separating the media sheet by sheet. A sensor detects a position of the pickup roller so as to provide data for operating the driving source. The media make contact with the pickup roller with a substantially constant contact force so that media are reliably discharged from the media cassette sheet by sheet.

Abstract: A media support apparatus for a media cassette of an automatic media dispenser includes a base plate having a guide piece which is provided with a guide slot. A link mechanism has at least one connection pin, which is moved along the guide slot, and two connection link plates, the height of which, relative to the base plate, can be adjusted. A media seat is seated on each connection link plate. The horizontal spacing between the media seats can be adjusted. The apparatus is advantageous in that a single media cassette can be adapted to supply media of various sizes.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a network security system and method. The network security system includes a packet-dedicated processor for primarily performing hardware filtering on static attacks of network traffic, and a host system provided with a software filter for secondarily performing software filtering on dynamic attacks of network traffic. In the network security method, hardware filtering is performed on static network traffic attacks, software filtering is performed on dynamic network traffic attacks based on an analysis the results of the hardware filtering and packet streams generated by incoming packets for a predetermined time, and intrusion prevention information is provided to an administrator based on the accumulation and an analysis of the results of the software filtering.

Abstract: A media cassette for a media dispenser includes a cassette body which includes a storage space in which media are filled and a discharging opening through which the media are discharged. A door selectively opens and closes the discharging opening. A solenoid and locking member are installed in the storage space to selectively lock and unlock the door in response to an external electrical signal. A gear unit is formed at an external surface of the door, and an opening/closing gear of the media dispenser is engaged with the gear unit to open and close the door. The solenoid is installed in the cassette body, and the locking member is also installed in the cassette body to lock and unlock the door via a driving force of the solenoid.

A discharging door is movable along one surface of the cassette body and driven by means of a driving source provided at a main body of the media dispenser for opening and closing the media discharging opening. Abstract: A media transfer method and apparatus enable media to be separated and discharged out of a media cassette of a media dispenser with a uniform transfer interval. The media transfer apparatus includes a pickup roller in contact with media waiting to be discharged, so as to separate and transfer the media sheet by sheet. A main feed roller and a delivery roller transfer a separated sheet of the media to a media transfer route. A sensor detects a front end of the separated sheet, having passed through a juncture between the main feed roller and the delivery roller. When the sensor detects the front end of the separated sheet, a power supplied to the pickup roller is stopped, and the separated sheet continues to be transferred by the driving power of the main feed roller and the delivery roller.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to an apparatus (i.e. an automatic teller machine) comprising an optical sensor. The optical sensor is configured to detect thickness of paper. Advantages of some embodiments of the present invention are that by determining a thickness of paper, it can be confirmed that two pieces of paper are not stuck together. For example, if two substantially identical pieces of paper are stuck together, then their thickness will be approximately twice the thickness of a single sheet. Accordingly, upon detection of two or more sheets of paper stuck together, a device, that automatically handles paper, may cause the sheets of paper to be separated.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a worm blocking system including a dedicated hardware-based board for performing pattern matching without a change in an existing network environment, which is installed in front of a network to be protected, inspects whether worm-related patterns exist on all packets on communication lines without loss or delay, passes packets through the system or blocks packets according to corresponding security rules and informs an administrator of results in real time, and a worm blocking method. In particular, the present invention relates to a hardware-based system and method for detecting and blocking worm-related packets which is suitable for a gigabit environment.
