Abstract: An image projection method and a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) image projection apparatus are provided. The image projection method controls a MEMS scanning mirror swinging around a first swing axis to project an image light beam. The image projection method includes following steps. A resonance frequency and a damping coefficient of the MEMS scanning mirror at swinging are measured to calculate a first amplitude scale and a first maintaining period, and a periodic wave signal is generated accordingly. The periodic wave signal is output to the MEMS scanning mirror for controlling the MEMS scanning mirror to swing, and a swing speed error thereof is recorded. By adjusting the first amplitude scale and the first maintaining period, the periodic wave signal is also adjusted, and the corresponding swing speed error is recorded. According to the recorded swing speed errors, the corrected periodic wave signal is generated for controlling the MEMS scanning mirror.

Abstract: A joint encoding/decoding method for a solid state drive is provided. Firstly, a data-writing process is implemented for encoding a user data by a hard codec and a soft codec respectively, thereby generating a first number of parity bits and a second number of parity bits. Then, the user data, the first number of parity bits and the second number of parity bits are written into a flash memory module. Then, a data-reading process is implemented for decoding the user data by the hard codec according to the first number of parity bits. If the user data is successfully decoded, the user data is outputted. If the user data is unsuccessfully decoded, a step of decoding the user data by the soft codec according to the second number of parity bits is performed.

Abstract: An optical disc drive comprises a flash memory, an optical pick-up head, a spindle motor and a control unit. The control unit generates a determination result according to whether the optical disc drive has a disc loaded therein, and stores the determination result into the flash memory when the optical disc drive receives a power. The control unit reads the determination result from the flash memory after receiving the power again, and determines whether to control the optical pick-up head and the spindle motor to execute the disc detection procedure according to the determination result. If the determination result is negative, whether the optical disc drive has a disc loaded therein is determined according to a rotation speed of the spindle motor. If the rotation speed is larger than a threshold value, the control unit determines that no disc is loaded in the optical disc drive.

Abstract: A solid state storage device receives a device sleep signal and a power signal from a host. The solid state storage device includes a control chip, a sleep control circuit, and a regulator. If the device sleep signal is activated, the control chip temporarily stores a system parameter into a flash memory module and then generates an acknowledge signal. The sleep control circuit receives the power signal, the device sleep signal and the acknowledge signal. If both of the device sleep signal and the acknowledge signal are activated, the sleep control circuit generates a disable state and a wake-up state. Moreover, if the power signal is received by the regulator and the sleep control circuit generates the disable state, the regulator stops providing a supply voltage to the control chip, so that the solid state storage device enters a sleep mode.
