The system restart circuit includes a capacitive element, a first end of which is coupled to a first voltage level; a restart switch for coupling a second end of the capacitive element to the first voltage level selectively; a first circuit for establishing a current path between a second voltage level and the capacitive element during a restart time, and setting a voltage level of an enabling signal of a system power supplying circuit according to the voltage level of the second end of the capacitive element; and a second circuit for controlling the first circuit to continually establish the current path during the restart time. The present invention can spontaneously restart the system when a restart signal is detected, so that the hardware restart can be accomplished with low cost.

    Abstract: Methods for protecting backup data of a computer system from damage are disclosed. A first storage device is provided for storing the backup data of the computer system, wherein the first storage device is ordinarily disabled to prevent the operating system of the computer system from accessing the backup data. A pin on the motherboard of the computer system is triggered by the Basic Input Output System (BIOS) of the computer system to enable or disable the first storage device. A first software system management interrupt is then initiated to call the BIOS to enable the first storage device. The backup data stored in a second storage device of the computer system is then copied to the first storage device. Finally, a second software system management interrupt is initiated to call the BIOS to disable the first storage device after copying of the backup data is complete.

    Abstract: A de-skew mechanism, in an image forming device, with a correcting member disposed in a rotatable manner to the rotary shaft and turning with driving roller by a spring between them. A torque spring suppresses the turning of the correcting member to correct the skew of the medium. When conveyed, the medium will butt against the correcting member to be stopped and corrected. The medium conveying force and the force that the spring brings to the driving roller are sufficient for turning the correcting member and passing therethrough. At one time, the force that the correcting member brings to the medium will reduce to zero. As such, the medium will not be damaged by the correcting member while being conveyed.
