Abstract: Tools and methods for expanding a precursor hole in a host material to receive a fixture. The precursor hole is enlarged by a rotary tool having helical flutes and interposed lands. The flutes have a negative rake angle. The lands each have a working edge that cuts the host material when the tool is rotated in a cutting direction, and that condenses the host material when the tool is rotated in a densifying direction. The body of the rotary tool has a stopper section that plugs the hole when a certain depth is reached. When the tool is used with a copious wash of irrigating fluid at or below the necessary depth, hydraulic pressure builds inside the precursor hole. The hydraulic pressure can be advantageously exploited in cutting mode to autograft a slurry of host material particles into the sidewalls of the hole and create an incipient densifying crust.

Abstract: The present disclosure is in the field of plant breeding and genetics, particularly as it pertains to the genus Glycine. More specifically, the invention relates to methods and compositions for producing a population of soybean plants with enhanced resistance to soybean cyst nematode. The methods use the detection of molecular genetic markers linked to soybean cyst nematode resistance loci to select for plants displaying an enhanced soybean cyst nematode resistance phenotype.

Abstract: A channel state information request requesting a device to feedback channel state information can be received. Whether the channel state information request corresponds to regular latency based operation or reduced latency based operation can be determined. Channel state information can be derived based on a first reference resource when the channel state information request corresponds to regular latency based operation. Channel state information can be derived based on a second reference resource when the channel state information request corresponds to reduced latency based operation. The reduced latency based operation can have a latency less than the regular latency based operation. The derived channel state information can be reported to a network.

Abstract: A system for retaining a cross fire tube in a multi-combustor gas turbine engine is disclosed. The system comprises a flow sleeve having a generally annular body, and a flange at a forward end thereof and having one or more recessed portions. A cross fire tube extends through one or more openings in the flow sleeve and is secured in place by a retention clip. The retention clip includes a plurality of fingers which engage the cross fire tube and a mounting plate engaging the one or more recessed portions of the flow sleeve flange so as to create a clip engagement having a lower profile than prior art configurations.

Abstract: Born Scattering Inversion (BSI) systems and methods are disclosed. A BSI system may be incorporated in a well system for accessing natural gas, oil and geothermal reserves in a geologic formation beneath the surface of the Earth. The BSI system may be used to generate a three-dimensional image of a proppant-filled hydraulically-induced fracture in the geologic formation. The BSI system may include computing equipment and sensors for measuring electromagnetic fields in the vicinity of the fracture before and after the fracture is generated, adjusting the parameters of a first Born approximation model of a scattered component of the surface electromagnetic fields using the measured electromagnetic fields, and generating the image of the proppant-filled fracture using the adjusted parameters.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for multi-modal interaction between users, automated assistants, and other computing services. In various implementations, a user may engage with the automated assistant in order to further engage with a third party computing service. In some implementations, the user may advance through dialog state machines associated with third party computing service using both verbal input modalities and input modalities other than verbal modalities, such as visual/tactile modalities.

Abstract: A depth camera assembly (DCA) for depth sensing of a local area. The DCA includes a polarized light generator, an imaging device, and a controller. The polarized light generator modulates one or more optical beams emitted from an illumination source to generate modulated light, and projects the modulated light into the local area as polarized light having a first polarization. The imaging device receives light from the local area, the received light including ambient light and a portion of the polarized light reflected from the local area. The imaging device reduces an intensity of the received light having polarization different from a second polarization to generate filtered light substantially composed of light of the second polarization, and detects the portion of the polarized light having the second polarization using the filtered light. The controller determines depth information for the local area based on the detected portion of the polarized light.

Abstract: An apparatus for monitoring battery swelling includes a conductive layer adhered to a battery pack, a surface opposite the battery pack, a flex layer adhered to the bottom of the surface, and a resistance measurement circuit. The conductive layer includes one or more conductive strips. The flex layer includes a resistive pattern with one or more serially connected resistive segments. Each resistive segment is aligned to a respective conductive strip. The surface is positioned over the battery pack so that initially the resistive pattern is not in contact with and is electrically separated from the conductive layer. The resistance measurement circuit is connected to the resistive pattern to detect changes in resistance of the resistive pattern. When the battery pack swells, the resistive pattern comes in contact with the conductive layer, thereby shorting a resistive segment, and causes the resistance measurement circuit to detect the change in the resistance.

Abstract: In some instances, spatial mapping data from one spatial mapping is used to augment the spatial mapping data in another spatial mapping. First and second spatial mapping data is accessed, where both the first and second spatial mapping data overlap in that they both, at least partially, describe the same portion of an environment three-dimensionally. A determination is made as to whether the second spatial mapping data is to augment the first spatial mapping data. If so, then the second spatial mapping data is used to augment the first spatial mapping data. Otherwise, the second spatial mapping data is not used to augment the first spatial mapping data. These determinations may be based, at least in part, on determined quality levels of the first and second spatial mapping data.

Otherwise, the processor determines whether a split threshold value of the PDCP protocol entity is set to a predefined value, communicates with the mobile communication network according to a first split bearer mode of operation in response to determining that the split threshold value is set to the predefined value, and communicates with the mobile communication network according to a second split bearer mode of operation in response to determining that the split threshold value is not set to the predefined value.
