Abstract: A system including a plurality of nodes. Each node includes a pending operations list, an unstable operations list, and a hardware controller. The pending operations list can include operations that have not yet been executed on the node. The unstable operations list can include operations that have not yet been stored on non-volatile data storage. Each of the operations listed in the unstable operations list can include a listing of all other operations that must be executed prior to the operation being executed on each respective node. The hardware controller can be configured to execute at least one operation listed in the pending operations list, remove at least one executed operation from the pending operations list, and remove at least one operation from the unstable operations list.

Abstract: A cluster management system sends a first message over a communications network to detect a server node which runs a base operating system image configured to communicate with the cluster management system to enable discovery and network configuration of the server node. In response to receiving the first message, the base operating system image sends a second message to the cluster management system, wherein the second message includes node identifying information associated with the server node. The cluster management system and the base operating system image communicate to configure network settings of the server node based on server cluster specifications and the node identifying information. Subsequent to completion of the network configuration, the cluster management system automatically provisions the server node for inclusion in a server cluster by re-imaging the server node with a server operating system to enable operation of the server node in the server cluster.

Abstract: In some aspects, a conveyor chain includes a first link, a second link, and a coupler link coupled between the first link and the second link. The first link includes a first portion and a second portion, the second portion oriented parallel to and laterally spaced apart from the first portion. The first portion includes a first sprocket-engaging pin protruding laterally, and the second portion includes a second sprocket-engaging pin protruding laterally. The second link includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes a first sprocket-engaging portion protruding laterally, and the second portion includes a second sprocket-engaging portion protruding laterally. A flight bar is positioned adjacent an end of the first sprocket-engaging portion of the first link.

Abstract: The fretboard system provides a replaceable fretboard with customized placement of frets along the fretboard for a stringed instrument. A configuration of magnets on the neck of the stringed instrument secure the fretboard to the stringed instrument. The magnets attract a metallic underside, such as a sheet metal, of the detachable fretboard. A separating layer, including but not limited to a layer of wood or other composite material, separates the magnets from the sheet metal. At least one, preferably two or more, reinforcing members extend longitudinally along the neck of the stringed instrument to reinforce the neck.

Abstract: A lamp is provided that can have at least one interface on the lamp body for a selectable lumens and selectable correlated color temperature (CCT). In one embodiment, the lamp design includes a housing having a downlight geometry and a light engine including at least one string of light emitting diodes (LEDs), in which the light engine is position to emit light through a light emission end of the housing having the downlight geometry. The lamp also includes at least one first switch for selecting at least one lumen setting for the light emitted by the light engine; and at least one second switch for selecting at least one correlated color temperature. The first and second switch are mounted to the housing.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for forming atomically precise structures are provided. In some embodiments, the methods, devices, and systems of the present disclosure utilize a scanning tunneling microscope (STM) system to receive a sample having a surface to be patterned. The system positions a conductive tip over a pixel region of the surface. While the conductive tip remains laterally fixed relative to the surface, the system applies a bias voltage between the conductive tip and the surface such that a current between the conductive tip and the surface removes at least one atom from the pixel region. The system stops applying the voltage and current when it senses the removal of the at least one atom. The system then verifies that the at least one atom has been removed from the pixel region.

Abstract: A method, system, or device for hydration monitoring using trend analysis. The method may include measuring a physiological measurement of an individual with a sensor to obtain trend data correlating to a hydration level of the individual. The method may include removing an abnormal shift or an abnormal change from the trend data. The method may include removing abnormal shifts and changes from the raw trend data. The method may include identifying a trend parameter for the trend data, the trend parameter indicating a change in the hydration level of the body. The method may include determining a reference value for the trend parameter. The method may include identifying a change in the trend data for the trend parameter, the change in the trend data indicating a change in the hydration level of the individual.

Abstract: In general, the subject matter can be embodied in methods, systems, and program products for identifying, by a computing system and using first and second frames of a video, a transformation that indicates movement of a camera with respect to the frames. The computing system generates a modified transformation so that the transformation is less representative of recent movement. The computing system uses the transformation and the modified transformation to generate a second transformation. The computing system identifies an anticipated distortion that would be present in a stabilized version of the second frame. The computing system determines an amount by which to reduce a stabilizing effect. The computing system applies the second transformation to the second frame to stabilize the second frame, where the stabilizing effect has been reduced based on the determined amount by which to reduce the stabilizing effect.

Abstract: In one implementation, a system for automatically profiling pallets includes a frame defining an opening that is sized and shaped for a pallet to pass through, and cameras mounted to the frame, the cameras being configured to capture images of a pallet as it passes through the frame. The system further includes a profiling computer system that is configured to receive the images captured by the cameras and to automatically profile the pallet based, at least in part, on analysis of the images. Automatically profiling the pallet includes generating a point cloud representing the pallet based on the images, determining a size of the pallet based on the point cloud generated from images of the pallet, identifying contents of the pallet based on the images, and providing pallet information identifying, at least, the size and contents of the pallet to a warehouse management system in association with the pallet.

Abstract: Chlorinators with multiple spaced gas traps and flow sensors are detailed. The sensors also may be protected, at least somewhat, from contact with scale build ups by interposition of a mechanical barrier. Ramps or other geometric restrictions may be used to increase water flow to some or all of the gas traps. Additionally, the chlorinator housing may be configured so as to route, or focus, gases toward a small-sized, high point thereof.

Abstract: A mirror assembly has one or more axes of motion and includes a mirror that is movable and forms an acute angle with a plane orthogonal to its axis of motion. The mirror assembly may include a first reflective mirror surface in the incoming optical path that is movable and forms an acute angle with a plane orthogonal to its axis of motion, and a second reflective mirror surface in the outgoing optical path that is movable and forms an acute angle with a plane orthogonal to its axis of motion and is moveable in a linear translation to scan the mirror in the interferometer in a way to generate a normal interferogram.

Abstract: Various embodiments are generally directed to NFC-based mobile currency transfers. A mobile payment may be programmatically initialized when at least two mobile devices come into NFC communications range. A payment card associated with an account used to fund the currency transfer may be tapped to one or more of the devices to allow a server to validate the currency transfer.

Abstract: A container determination system is provided and generally includes a server, a database, and a customer computing device. The server may obtain, from the database, purchase order data identifying order lines of a purchase order, where each order line is associated with one or more items. The server may associate each order line of the purchase order with an initial container. The server may then optimize the assortment of items amongst the initial containers by attempting to re-associate a selected order line with another container based on whether the other container can hold the items associated with the selected order line, and based on a comparison between an acceptance rate and a randomly selected rate. The re-associations are attempted multiple times to determine optimized assortment information, which may be transmitted to an associate device to have a bagger place the purchased items in containers according to the optimized assortment information.

Abstract: Systems and methods for content and program type detection, including identification of true boundaries between content segments. A broadcast provider sends a broadcast as an encoded stream. During a switch between content types, an automation system sends identifying metadata indicative of an approximate boundary between content types. A mediacast generation system receives the encoded stream of content and metadata, processes the metadata, time corrects the metadata, and slices the content on the exact boundary where the content change occurs. The mediacast generation system decodes an audio stream directly into Waveform Audio File Format (WAVE) while using an envelope follower to measure amplitude. When the system detects a metadata marker, an analyzer may look inside a buffered time window. The WAVE data may be analyzed to look for a period most likely to be the true boundary or split point between content segments. The content may then be split up on the new true boundary.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and high performance electrochemical devices employing electroactive particles having a sandwich structure are described. The electroactive particle includes an electroactive layer between a pair of dimension-control layers. The electroactive layer includes an electroactive material configured to receive cations and experience a volumetric change in response thereto. The dimension-control layers are configured to inhibit planar dimensional changes of the electroactive particle such that the volumetric change of the electroactive layer occurs through a vertical dimension of the electroactive particle. The vertical dimension is orthogonal to the planar dimensions.

Abstract: A well tool assembly can include a well screen configured to filter fluid flow between an interior and an exterior of a tubular string, and an outflow control section that permits the fluid flow in an outward direction and prevents the fluid flow in an inward direction, the outflow control section including at least two outflow control valves arranged in series. A method can include installing a well tool assembly including a well screen, flowing a fluid from an exterior to an interior of a tubular string through the well screen and an inflow control valve of the well tool assembly, and flowing another fluid from the interior to the exterior of the tubular string through the well screen and at least one outflow control valve of the well tool assembly.

Abstract: Rheological measurement systems for use with systems including pressurized polymer melts and/or other viscous materials are described. In one embodiment, a rheometer is connected to an associated system with a bent, curved, or bendable tube to permit the rheometer to measure rheological properties in locations where the rheometer could not otherwise be located due to the presence of obstructions. Embodiments including rigid straight tubes for connecting a rheometer to an associated system are also described. In another embodiment, a flow-through rheometer is connected to an industry standard ½-20 thermowell aperture that is typically used for attaching temperature and pressure probes to a vessel containing a viscous material such as an extruder or injection molding system.
