Abstract: Methods are described for diagnosing or prognosing insulin resistance in diabetic and pre-diabetic patients, the method comprising determining the amount of insulin and C-peptide in a sample. Provided herein are mass spectrometric methods for detecting and quantifying insulin and C-peptide in a biological sample utilizing enrichment and/or purification methods coupled with tandem mass spectrometric or high resolution/high accuracy mass spectrometric techniques.

Abstract: A two-ply liner-label and liner-label-roll are provided. A front side of a liner is coated with a release coating. The liner also includes a plurality of die cut tabs that at least partially align with a second die cut label in the label. The backside of the label is coated with an adhesive material and applied to the front side of the liner to form a liner-label roll. The tabs remain affixed to their corresponding individual labels when the labels are removed for placement on packaging; thereby, leaving holes in the liner as the liner is wound into a waste-liner roll within an auto applicator machine.

Abstract: A method is provided for inter-coding video in which transmission bandwidth requirements associated with second motion vectors for bi-directional temporal prediction is reduced. In the method, vector information for one of motion vectors for multi-directional temporal prediction can be transmitted together with information on how to derive or construct the second motion vectors. Thus, rather than sending express information regarding each of the plurality of motion vectors, express information related to only one motion vector along with information related to reconstruction/derivation of the second motion vectors is transmitted, thus reducing bandwidth requirements and increasing coding efficiency.

Abstract: Provided herein are methods and composition for immune repertoire sequencing and single cell barcoding. The methods and compositions can be used to pair any two sequences originating from a single cell, such as heavy and light chain antibody sequences, for antibody discovery, disease and immune diagnostics, and low error sequencing.

Abstract: A kit for modifying a firearm includes an adapter, and the adapter includes an external threaded surface configured to detachably couple to an internal threaded surface of a receiver of the firearm. An adapter bore is disposed opposite the external threaded surface, and the adapter bore is configured to receive a barrel of the firearm. The kit further includes a securing element, and the securing element includes a securing element bore configured to receive the barrel. The securing element is configured to detachably couple to the adapter and thereby secure the barrel to the adapter.

Abstract: A storage system comprises a cache device and a storage device group. A technique involves: the cache device of the storage system receiving from a host an input/output (I/O) request for the storage system; and upon determining that the storage system is just recovered from a hardware failure and the storage device group in the storage system is in a ready but degraded state, safely performing data write/read by sending a new Recover State I/O request to the storage device group. Such a technique may be used to reduce a Data Lost window, reduce or avoid data loss. In addition, such a technique may be implemented in a current RAID technology, namely, can be used in combination with the current RAID technology.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for simulating users for testing websites using a trained model. Simulating users involves training a model to generate realistic synthetic clickstreams that emulate actual clickstreams. Synthetic clickstreams may include simulated mouse actions and keystrokes and the results of the testing may be used to improve the design and functioning of the tested website.

Abstract: A load control device for controlling power delivered from an AC power source to an electrical device may be configured to conduct current through earth ground and may disconnect a switching circuit to reduce an amount of current conducted through the earth ground. The load control device may comprise a controllably conductive device configured to control the power delivered from the AC power source to the electrical device so as to generate a switched-hot voltage, a switching circuit electrically coupled with a detect circuit, and a control circuit configured to render the switching circuit conductive and nonconductive. The detect circuit may generate a detect signal indicating a magnitude of the switched-hot voltage. The control circuit may be configured to monitor the detect signal and to render the switching circuit non-conductive after detecting an edge on the detect signal to reduce the total current through the earth ground.

Abstract: Automatically identifying context-specific repeated transformations (such as repeated edit tasks) that are based on observation of the developer drafting or modifying code. As the developer modifies the code, the code passes through a series of states, one after the other. The computing system observes the series of states of the code. It is based on this observation that the computing system identifies repeated transformations of the code for potentially offering to continue performing the repeated transformations for the user. This alleviates the developer from having to manually perform the remainder of the repeated transformations.

Abstract: A combination of an alternating stack and a memory opening fill structure is provided over a substrate. The alternating stack includes insulating layers and electrically conductive layers. The memory opening fill structure vertically extends through the alternating stack, and includes a memory film, a vertical semiconductor channel, and a core structure comprising a core material. A phase change material is employed for the core material. A volume expansion is induced in the core material by performing an anneal process that induces a microstructural change within the core material. The volume expansion in the core material induces a lateral compressive strain and a vertical tensile strain within the vertical semiconductor channel. The vertical tensile strain enhances charge mobility in the vertical semiconductor channel, and increases the on-current of the vertical semiconductor channel.

Abstract: Processing for a file system may include determining an inconsistency between a data log and inodes (index nodes) of the file system. Responsive to determining the inconsistency, recovery processing may be performed including first processing of the data log, second processing of the inodes of the file system, and third processing of the data log after said second processing. First processing may, for each entry of the data log that records a create snapshot operation to create a snapshot of a file having an associated inode of the file system that is a dirty snapshot inode, marking the associated inode as “snap validated”. Second processing may include freeing each dirty snapshot inode not marked as “snap validated”. Third processing may include freeing any entry of the data log where the entry references dirty snapshot inode freed by the second processing.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a system that receives a notification, from an identity proxy function, indicating an identity mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) is being registered. That is, a communication device sends a registration request that includes the IMSI to a first registration function. Further, the identity proxy function intercepts the registration request and sends the first notification to the device. Also, the system, sends a first registration message to the first registration function. The first registration function includes a first registry. Further, the first registration message indicates to the first registration function to add the IMSI to the first registry. The system also sends a second registration message to a second registration function. The second registration function includes a second registry. Further, the second registration message indicates to the second registration function to remove the IMSI to the first registry.

Abstract: A memory die including a three-dimensional array of memory elements and a logic die including a peripheral circuitry that support operation of the three-dimensional array of memory elements can be bonded by die-to-die bonding to provide a bonded assembly. External bonding pads for the bonded assembly can be provided by forming recess regions through the memory die or through the logic die to physically expose metal interconnect structures within interconnect-level dielectric layers. The external bonding pads can include, or can be formed upon, a physically exposed subset of the metal interconnect structures. Alternatively or additionally, laterally-insulated external connection via structures can be formed through the bonded assembly to multiple levels of the metal interconnect structures. Further, through-dielectric external connection via structures extending through a stepped dielectric material portion of the memory die can be physically exposed, and external bonding pads can be formed thereupon.

Abstract: Systems and methods of delegating media capturing functionality from one device to another are presented. A first device configured with an object recognition engine captures a media representation of an environment and identifies an object within that environment. Then based on matched object traits from a database, the engine selects a delegation rules set, and delegates certain media capturing functionality to a second device according to the selected delegation rules set.

Abstract: To improve monetization of electronic advertisement placement, a profile owner company operates an automatic system for identifying media properties that have interests in specific profiles or profiles of a specified category or kind. The profile owner recognizes a collected visitor profile as one that a media property has previously requested or one that is within a category that a media property has previously requested and arranges for the visitor to be tagged with a tag readable by the media property that requested such a profile. The media property can use the tag in displaying customized advertising to the visitor. Using information received from the media property, the profile owner company then records usage of the profile by the media property.

Abstract: Various methods include receiving, by a controller, a temperature reading of a memory array, the temperature reading includes a temperature value; determining the temperature value is below a first threshold; in response, modifying a duration of a verify cycle of a write operation to create a modified verify cycle; then programming a first data into the memory array using the write operation that uses the modified verify cycle. Methods additionally include receiving a second temperature reading of the memory array, the second temperature reading includes a second temperature value; determining the second temperature value is below a second threshold, in response, decreasing the duration of a verify cycle of a verify cycle to create a second verify cycle, where the second verify cycle is shorter than the modified verify cycle; and then programming a second data into the memory array using the write operation that uses the second verify cycle.

Abstract: Disclosed techniques for improving computational efficiency can be applied to synthesis and analysis in digital signal processing. A base discrete-time Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signal is generated by performing an inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) on a set of data symbols. The set of data symbols is multiplied with a sparse update weight matrix to produce an update signal, and an IDFT is performed on the update signal to generate a discrete-time update signal. The discrete-time update signal is summed with the base discrete-time OFDM signal to produce an updated discrete-time OFDM signal.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing supplemental data are disclosed. An exemplary method can comprise determining content currently being consumed by a user, determining one or more user preferences for display of supplemental data, retrieving supplemental data according to the one or more user preferences, and providing the supplemental data to the user concurrently with the content currently being consumed.

Abstract: A lubricant composition includes: an oil selected from among polyalkylene glycols (PAG); and a nitrogen compound selected from among amine phosphates or amine tungstates. The lubricant composition is particularly suitable for lubricating a vehicle engine, preferably a motor vehicle engine. Also disclosed is an engine lubrication method utilizing such composition.

Abstract: A roof system and related methods for installing the roof system. The roof system includes a roof diaphragm including a nail board and an insulating panel connected to the nail board, wherein the insulating panel is adapted to be positioned between the nail board and a roof frame so that the insulating panel engages the roof frame. In several exemplary embodiments, the nail board comprises one or both of: oriented strand board (OSB) and plywood. In several exemplary embodiments, the insulating panel comprises one or both of: a closed-cell rigid polyisocyanurate (polyiso) foam core and a polystyrene foam core. In several exemplary embodiments, the roof system further includes a plurality of nail board fasteners connecting the roof diaphragm to the roof frame, the nail board fasteners each extending through the nail board, through the insulating panel, and into the roof frame to a depth.
