Abstract: In some examples, for a given authentication event between a plurality of devices in a network, a system identifies a set of events, at the devices, that are temporally related to the given authentication event. The system applies a classifier on a collection of features associated with the set of events, and determines, based on an output of the classifier, whether the given authentication event is an unauthorized authentication event.

Abstract: A three dimensional truck or SUV cab marker light apparatus comprising a container having a right circular cylinder structure with a shape determined by the number of walls used during assembly, each wall being formed from a generally flat sheet of a rigid material and a transparent material, the walls being assembled to form a container enclosing an interior region for a light-transmission source and having a lower surface for attachment to a cab roof without drilling holes into the cab roof and without installing wires through the cab roof.
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a system performs an emergency stop when a speed planning optimization fails to generate a speed curve. In one embodiment, in response to an emergency stop request, the system generates one or more path-time analytical curves, where each of the one or more path-time curves is represented by a polynomial function. The system selects one of the path-time analytical curves to determine whether the selected path-time analytical curve satisfies a set of evaluation criteria. If the selected path-time analytical curve does not satisfy the set of evaluation criteria, the system selects a next one of the path-time analytical curves for evaluation. If the selected path-time analytical curve satisfies the set of evaluation criteria, the system generates a trajectory based on the selected path-time analytical curve to control the ADV during an emergency stop.

Abstract: Slope-compensated current mode DC-DC converters. Example embodiments are methods of operating a slope-compensated current mode DC-DC converter including asserting a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal in a switching period to couple an input voltage to the inductor; sensing an inductor current through an inductor to generate a sensed current signal; generating a slope compensation signal having a peak amplitude during the switching period; generating a slope offset signal based on a sum of a predefined threshold with a product of a duty cycle of the PWM signal and the peak amplitude; and de-asserting the PWM signal during the switching period based on the sensed current signal and the slope offset signal.

Abstract: An apparatus for implementing a game having a deterministic component and a non-deterministic component wherein a player uses the game through at least one player interface unit. Each player interface unit generates a player record indicating player-initiated events. A random number generator provides a series of pseudo-random numbers and a rules library stores indexed rules for one or more games. An interface registry stores mapping records where the mapping records are used to associate the player-initiated events to pre-selected rules in the rules library. A control means is coupled to the player interface to receive the output of the player interface unit, coupled to the interface registry, the rules library, and the random number generator.
Abstract: An in-ear stimulator for administering thermal stimulation to the ear canal of a subject includes (a) an earpiece configured to be insertable into the ear canal of said subject, the earpiece having an outer surface and an internal cavity formed therein, the internal cavity having an inner surface; and (b) at least one thermoelectric device thermally coupled to the earpiece internal cavity inner surface.
Abstract: A knife having a double-sided ball slide knife blade locking mechanism includes a blade pivotally attached to a handle, the blade having a pair of large circular indentations formed on opposite lateral sides of the blade, and also having a pair of small circular indentations formed on opposite lateral sides of the blade. The knife handle has handle scales attached to opposite sides of the knife blade. Each of a pair of detent elements are positioned intermediate the handle scales and knife blade on both sides of the blade, and positioned such that the detent elements will mate with the indentations. Each of a pair of spring-loaded sliding detent release shafts are mounted within the handle scales and have a tapered interior side configured to wedge between the detent element and a detent housing cover to temporarily lock the detent elements in place within the indentations.

Abstract: Systems and methods for surfacing contextually relevant data into the workflow of a third party system are discussed herein. The system implements a near-real-time method of detecting activity corresponding to particular electronic health records associated with particular patients in third-party systems using specifically configured software systems. A cloud-based micro-services architecture is communicably coupled to the third-party systems and is operable to transmit contextually relevant data to the third-party system in response to particular detected activities, such as accessing a patient's electronic health record. The contextually-relevant data is identified by comparing electronic health record data from various third-party systems, each third-party system associated with the particular patient, to determine gaps in the records. The contextually relevant data is transmitted to the third-party system and visually integrated into the third-party system's pre-existing clinical workflow.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing queries of a graph database. During operation, the system stores intermediate results of a query in a structure comprising rows in a set of tables. Next, the system applies one or more operations to existing rows in the structure to generate additional rows in additional tables of the structure. The system also tracks inputs and outputs associated with the one or more operations in a set of relationships between rows of different tables in the structure. Finally, the system uses the rows and the set of relationships to generate a final result of the query and provides the final result in a response to the query.
