Abstract: A base station central unit transmits to a first base station distributed unit (BS-DU), a first power value for uplink transmission of a wireless device to the first BS-DU. A second request to add the second BS-DU for the wireless device is transmitted to a second BS-DU. The second request comprises a second power value for uplink transmission of the wireless device to the second BS-DU. A third power value for uplink transmission of the wireless device to the first BS-DU is transmitted to the first BS-DU. The third power value is based on the second power value.

Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a position of a moveable component of a valve disposed in a borehole penetrating the earth includes a radioactive marker disposed on the moveable component and a radiation detector configured to detect radiation emitted by the radioactive marker. The apparatus also includes a controller configured to receive radiation detection information from the radiation detector and to correlate the radiation detection information to the position of the moveable component.

Abstract: Described herein is a system and method for latency-aware thread scheduled. For each processor core, an estimated cost to schedule a particular thread on the processor core is calculated. The estimated cost to schedule can be a period of time between the scheduling decision and the point in time where the scheduled thread begins to run. For each processor core, an estimated cost to execute the particular thread on the processor core is calculated. The estimated cost to execute can be a period of time spent actually running the particular thread on a particular processor core. A determination as to which processor core to utilize for execution of the particular thread based, at least in part, upon the calculated estimated costs to schedule the particular thread and/or the calculated estimated costs to execute the particular thread. The particular thread can be scheduled to execute on the determined processor core.

Abstract: A hydrophobic topical skin composition is disclosed. The composition includes greater than 50% w/w of the composition of a continuous hydrophobic carrier, 5-24% w/w of one or more volatile silicone fluids, and 0.1 to 5% w/w of the composition of a plurality of taxane nanoparticles, wherein the mean particle size (number) of the taxane nanoparticles is from 0.1 microns to 1.5 microns, and wherein the taxane nanoparticles are crystalline nanoparticles or a combination of amorphous and crystalline nanoparticles.

Abstract: Methods for decreasing harmful effects of blue light on skin are disclosed that include topically administering to a subject in need thereof a composition of an effective quantity of a purified, enzymatic hydrolysate of Theobroma cacao L. beans comprising peptides and saccharides having a molecular weight between 200 Da and 10 kDa in a physiologically acceptable medium. The hydrolysate of Theobroma cacao L. beans is present in the composition at a concentration from 0.001 to 20% with respect to the total weight of the composition. The composition can be a cosmetic composition.

Abstract: Hydroxycitric acid-metal heterocyclic compounds with covalent characteristics are provided. The subject hydroxycitric acid compounds include monomeric hydroxycitric acid (HCA) compounds having a divalent metal, lactone forms thereof, and dimeric compound forms thereof. The monomeric HCA compound includes a divalent metal (X) bonded via a 5-membered ring to both the carboxylic acid and the hydroxy group of the central C2 carbon of the HCA. In addition, a monovalent metal (Y) can also be bonded to the carboxylic acid of C3 or C1, or to both C1 and C3. The subject dimeric compounds include monomeric HCA compounds linked via a second divalent metal (X) to a carboxylic acid group of each HCA unit at C3 or C1. Also provided are compositions including a monomeric HCA compound and one or more other additional compounds. Methods of alleviating at least one symptom associated with a target disease or condition in a subject are provided.

Abstract: The present invention is a cannabidiol oral dosage form including predominantly or exclusively hemp pomace, compounded as a tablet or formulated within a capsule without the addition of synthetic excipients, fillers or other additives, not including the inevitable presence of some moisture and the optional presence of fungal or bacterial probiotics introduced prior to or during dosage form manufacturing, and with or without fermentation of the hemp pomace prior to the dosage form manufacturing process. The dosage forms contain dietary fiber, important to activity as the desired delivery system, having a ratio of one part soluble dietary fiber to 30 parts insoluble dietary fiber and delivers desirable/non hallucinogenic cannabinoids (CBD, CBG) in a ratio of 30:1 up to 120:1 to hallucinogenic cannabinoids (THC).

Abstract: Signals of an immersive multimedia item are jointly considered for optimizing the quality of experience for the immersive multimedia item. During encoding, portions of available bitrate are allocated to the signals (e.g., a video signal and an audio signal) according to the overall contribution of those signals to the immersive experience for the immersive multimedia item. For example, in the spatial dimension, multimedia signals are processed to determine spatial regions of the immersive multimedia item to render using greater bitrate allocations, such as based on locations of audio content of interest, video content of interest, or both. In another example, in the temporal dimension, multimedia signals are processed in time intervals to adjust allocations of bitrate between the signals based on the relative importance of such signals during those time intervals. Other techniques for bitrate optimizations for immersive multimedia streaming are also described herein.

Abstract: A microphone assembly includes a transducer element and a processing circuit. The processing circuit includes an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) configured to receive, sample and quantize a microphone signal generated by the transducer element to generate a corresponding digital microphone signal. The processing circuit includes a feedback path including a digital loop filter configured to receive and filter the digital microphone signal to provide a first digital feedback signal and a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) configured to convert the first digital feedback signal into a corresponding analog feedback signal. The control unit is configured to receive the pressure signals from the liquid pressure sensor and the atmospheric pressure sensor. The control unit is further configured to determine the fill level of the liquid aerosol-forming substrate based on a comparison of the pressure signals from the liquid pressure sensor and the atmospheric pressure sensor.

Abstract: An adjustable stand that can by employed in a hydraulic fracturing system is disclosed herein. The adjustable stand preferably includes a frame, legs, clamps and a rack. The legs are connected to and support the frame. The racks are connected to the frame and extend upward from the frame and the clamps are mounted onto the racks. The legs are configured to raise and lower the frame, and the clamps are configured to be raised and lowered on the rack. The ability of the legs and the clamps to be adjusted allows the stand to be modified to support various objects and be modified to accommodate various systems.

Abstract: A wall-mountable load control device may include an illuminated rotary knob for providing a nightlight feature. The load control device may be configured to control an intensity of a lighting load. The load control device may include a yoke adapted to be mounted to an electrical wall box, an enclosure attached to the yoke, a faceplate attached to the yoke and having an opening, a mounting member attached to the yoke, and/or a potentiometer located within the enclosure and having a shaft extending through an opening in the yoke and the opening of the faceplate. The load control device may include a collar attached to the boss of the mounting member and surrounding the shaft of the potentiometer. The mounting member may be configured to conduct light from at least one light source housed within the enclosure to illuminate the faceplate.

Abstract: Biases in search and retrieval (i.e., situations where searchers seek or are presented with information that significantly deviates from the truth) may be detected by comparison to one or more authoritative sources. Once bias or potential bias is detected, techniques may be applied to indicate and/or compensate for the bias. Such techniques may allow users to more easily assess the veracity of search results, and increase the chances that users will locate accurate answers to their questions.
