Publication number: 20210109095Abstract: The present invention provides a novel and efficient process of preparing a highly organized 3D array of particles by stacking multiple 2D arrays of the particles. The 3D array of particles so prepared is used in fabrication of sensors, such as molecular imprinted photonic (MIP) crystal sensor. The sensor has a 3D array of voids each having a void internal wall. The void internal walls have cavities each having a cavity internal wall made from a material containing the non-metallic element. A binding of the analytes to the cavities induces a detectable variation of the optical property of the 3D array of voids. The invention exhibits numerous technical merits such as high sensitivity, high specificity, fast detection, ease of operation, low power consumption, zero chemical release, and low operation cost, among others.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2020Publication date: April 15, 2021Applicant: 2WITECH SOLUTIONS LLCInventors: Qingwu Wang, Sajjad Maruf, Evan Wang

Publication number: 20210107793Abstract: The specification discloses methods and associated equipment in a system of machine elements for industrial scale manufacture of graphene from graphite through use of a liquid medium comprising a non-toxic, water-soluble aliphatic solvent and water, together with graphite particulate dispersed therein. The medium promotes dispersion of the graphite particles and pre-conditions the graphitic material to delamination as ultra-high velocity flow streams of the dispersion are conducted through disintegration zones under powerfully turbulent flow conditions and associated vorticity with intense shear forces imposed on the particles over extended dwell times to effectively exfoliate and comminute the graphitic material, providing substantially complete conversion of the same to stably dispersed mono or few layer graphene particles in the resulting graphenic dispersion. Embodiments of the invention enable extraordinary yields of high quality graphene approaching 98 wt.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 11, 2016Publication date: April 15, 2021Applicant: CELTIG, LLCInventors: Brian J. Patent number: 10979048Abstract: Circuits and methods for switching between an internal clock and an external clock without causing an interruption or an artifact in the switched clock signal are disclosed. To achieve this, the internal clock signal is synchronized with the external clock signal prior to switching. The synchronization may be accomplished using two possible clock-synchronization methods: a first method that passively waits for the clocks to synchronize over time and a second that adjusts a period of the internal clock signal to actively synchronize the clocks. The method selected for use requires the fewest clock cycles to reach synchronization, which is determined by a frequency difference between the two clock frequencies. After clock-synchronization, the output clock signal spectrum will be substantially the same before and after switching between the clock signals, and therefore is suitable for use with spread spectrum clocks.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2019Date of Patent: April 13, 2021Assignee: SEMICONDUCTOR COMPONENTS INDUSTRIES, LLCInventor: Jonathan Matalon

Eye suction loss and corneal applanation detection in ophthalmic docking system using optical signal
Patent number: 10973688Abstract: An ophthalmic laser surgical system uses a confocal detector assembly to continuously detect a confocal signal during laser treatment, and based on the confocal signal, detects in real time a loss of tissue contact with the patient interface (PI) output surface. The detection is partly based on the change of reflectivity at the PI output surface when the optical interface changes from a lens-tissue interface to a lens-air interface. The behavior of the confocal signal upon loss of tissue contact is dependent on the treatment laser scan pattern being performed at the time of tissue contact loss. Thus, different confocal signal analysis algorithms are applied to detect tissue contact loss during different scans, such as the bed cut and side cut for a corneal flap. The real time confocal signal may also be used during eye docking to detect the establishment of tissue contact with the PI output surface.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2019Date of Patent: April 13, 2021Assignee: AMO Development, LLCInventors: Harvey I. Patent number: 10979378Abstract: Systems and methods for promoting user engagement with messaging, such as advertising are presented. Specific marketing communications may be evaluated by measuring user responsiveness, such as the respective times at which advertising and other messages may be sent to a user and at which a user may respond, and using these measurements to determine a relative value of the advertising and other messages based on a time decay analytical approach. This approach may include sending an electronic communication to a user interface at a first time for display, sending an electronic message, such as an e-mail or text message to the user at a second time, sending a physical mailing to the user at a third time, receiving a user response at a fourth time, determining the time that elapsed between the fourth time and each of the first, second and third times, and assigning a relative value to each of these messaging events.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2020Date of Patent: April 13, 2021Assignee: CAPITAL ONE SERVICES, LLCInventors: Ryan Swartz, Damian Von Schoenborn
