Abstract: In one aspect, an integrated circuit (IC) includes a level shifter configured to generate a first output signal and a second output signal, and to receive an input voltage, a first supply voltage and a second supply voltage; and a state reinforcement circuit configured to maintain a logical state of the second output signal in response to the first supply voltage having a voltage below ground and the input voltage is logical high. If the input voltage is logical high, then the first output signal is logical low and the second output signal is logical high; and, if the input voltage is logical low, the first output signal is logical high and the second output signal is logical low.
Abstract: Various antenna systems are presented that have independently steerable receive and transmit beams. The antenna system may include multiple antenna element systems. Each antenna element system may include multiple phase shifters that alter the phase of received signals and signals to be transmitted. Directions of a first transmit beam, a second transmit beam, a first receive beam, and a second receive beam may be steered independently using the phase shifters. Each antenna element system may include a polarization system.

Abstract: A file system is setup in user space of an operating system (OS) of a device without editing kernal code of the OS. Data of a file at the device is archived to a target location. The data of the file is replaced with a link to the target location. The archived data is retrieved via the file system in response to an input/output (I/O) request to the data of the file.
Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a body, a shaft, and an end effector that is operable to compress, staple, and cut tissue. The end effector includes a pair of jaws. One of the jaws has a deflectable placement tip attached thereto. The placement tip may be attached using a mechanical connection in some versions. Still in other versions the placement tip may be attached via an overmolding process. Where an overmolding process is used, a portion of the jaw can be configured with various connection features that improve the overmolding attachment success.

Abstract: A computer-implemented security system and method provides signature pathway authentication and identification. The system and method include establishing a user-defined cognitive signature pathway through multiple graphical zones of a graphical user interface. The signature pathway enables authorized user access to an otherwise secured location. Subsequent entries of the signature pathway entered via the graphical user interface are then validated. For all valid entries of the signature pathway, user access is allowed to the secured location.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying a security risk include a security group analyzer that identifies a first set of users belonging to a security group such as a local administrators' group. A privileges analyzer identifies a second set of users having one or more privileges gained from user rights assignments that may pose a security risk. An autostart extensibility point (ASEP) access analyzer identifies a third set of users by identifying users having access to an ASEP entry or an image path identified by an ASEP entry. A security risk identifier identifies security risks by identifying users that are in the second or third set of users but are not in the first set of users. A security handler performs a responsive action in response to the identification of the security risk. A security graph builder uses the identified interrelationships to build a security graph that illustrates the security risks.

The reader system further has an illumination system configured for illuminating at least a portion of the background screen. The detector is configured for detecting and decoding the at least one identification tag.

Abstract: An actuation system used to actuate one or more buttons on a remote control device, such as a key fob, based upon commands that are generated from a mobile device. The actuation system includes a key fob enclosure located remotely from the vehicle. When a command is received on the mobile device, the command is relayed to a controller within the key fob enclosure, causing a button on the key fob to be depressed. The RF signal from the key fob is translated into a digital message which is relayed to a proxy remote located within the vehicle. The proxy remote, in turn, translates the digital message to an RF signal which is transmitted and received by systems within the vehicle. In this manner, the proxy remote is able to communicate using RF signals with the vehicle without requiring the key fob to be located near the vehicle.
Abstract: Polymer polyols are made in a seeded process, in which styrene and acrylonitrile are polymerized in the presence of a base polyol, a seed dispersion and a solvent. The seed dispersion contains an unsaturated macromer. The process produces a polymer polyol in which the dispersed phase particles have a particle size of 1 to 3 ?m and a particle size span of less than 1.25. The polymer polyols are very useful for making flexible polyurethane foam for cushioning applications, in which high airflows and good load bearing are needed.

Abstract: A flotation tank has an input to receive a slurry from a pipeline section. The slurry contains finer mineral particles and coarser mineral particles. The pipeline section has one or more loops or coiled sections arranged to perform partial centrifugal separation on the finer and coarser mineral particles. As the mineral particles are moved tangentially into the lower part of the flotation tank, the coarser mineral particles tend to be near the tank wall while the finer mineral particles tend to move into the central part of the tank. Air bubbles or lightweight synthetic bubbles are used to collect and lift the finer mineral particles to the upper part of the tank. The coarser mineral particles are recovered by using collection surfaces coated with a hydrophobic material.

Abstract: Antenna monitoring systems and methods can include, among other things, a transmitter near each of the antennas in a distributed antenna system (DAS). The transmitter can transmit an antenna identifier corresponding to that antenna, so that the various transmitters in the DAS each transmit different antenna identifiers. These antenna identifiers can be detected by a receiver and can be processed to determine whether any antenna identifiers are missing. If any expected antenna identifier is missing, the receiver can infer that the antenna or a component associated with the antenna (such as cabling) may have failed. The receiver can then output an indication or notification that may be accessed by maintenance personnel and/or emergency personnel to enable them to identify and repair the non-functioning antenna or component. The transmitter can transmit other data, such as environmental data, RF data, or the like, to facilitate additional or alternative monitoring functionality.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for managing, and enforcing policies on data security. A policy appliance includes a policy administration point, a policy decision point, a policy enforcement point and, optionally, an auditing module. The policy appliance can execute in a self-contained environment, e.g., a single virtual machine, a single physical machine, or a cluster of virtual machines or physical machines identically configured. The self-contained policy appliance can receive, manage, enforce and audit multiple policies that specify access privileges of multiple users on multiple databases. The databases can include heterogeneous databases that are configured separately and differently from one another. A single configuration of the policy appliance centralizes and unifies policy management of the heterogeneous database in the self-contained environment.
