Abstract: A receiver system is provided for receiving a coherent Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) encoded signal. The receiver system may include an optical polarization component configured to modulate a polarization of the received coherent PAM encoded signal. The receiver system may further include a digital signal processor (DSP) configured to perform polarization recovery between the received coherent PAM encoded signal and the LO signal using a first control loop, and to perform phase recovery between the received coherent PAM encoded signal and the LO signal using a second control loop.

Abstract: An adjustable removable device caddy is disclosed for securing devices including, but not limited to a smartphone or other phone, a tablet, an e-reader, a power bank, a speaker, a multimedia player, a two-way radio, a flashlight or other light, a television or other display, a GPS, a laser range finder, a beverage or other device. One embodiment of the invention utilizes a combination of one or more seat, wing, and face plate, to create an adjustable cavity that can accommodate a number of devices with varying width and thickness. The adjustable removable device caddy can be mounted to various mounting surfaces including, but not limited to a golf cart, automobile, all-terrain vehicle, maintenance vehicle, boat, push cart, bicycle, motorcycle, scooter, tent, canopy, flat surface and the like.

Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) includes a body that supports breakaway components. One component is a battery pack which powers the vehicle. Two other components are pod assemblies, which each include at least one motor and one propeller. Each motor is supported within a support ring using spokes or filament. The spokes keep the motor firmly stable during operation and also effectively encage the otherwise dangerous spinning propeller. This allows the vehicle to operate with a higher level of safety than conventional UAVs. The breakaway feature can be established using magnets.

Abstract: A method for producing valuable organic liquid from a biomass wherein a gas is heated to a predetermined temperature to produce a heated gas. The heated gas is mixed with a biomass to produce an enriched organic vapor and a biomass waste product. The biomass waste product is separated from the enriched organic vapor. The enriched organic vapor is cooled to produce a liquid organic oil and the liquid organic oil is collected. A system for producing the liquid organic oil wherein the system includes a heat source for heating a gas to produce a heated gas and a first separation unit to separate an enriched organic vapor and a biomass waste product. The enriched organic vapor and the biomass waste product are generated from mixing the heated gas and a biomass. The system also includes a wet scrubber for cooling the enriched organic vapor to remove certain compounds from the enriched organic vapor to generate an enriched organic smoke.

Abstract: Systems and methods for building a monitoring fabric are described. The system receives a duplicate of a first portion of traffic information from a first network as first traffic information and communicates the first traffic information in the monitoring fabric. The first traffic information is communicated to a controller that configures the monitoring fabric. The system receives a duplicate of a second portion of the traffic information from the first network as second traffic information. The system forwards the second traffic information to at least one tool.

Abstract: An adjustable ballistic garment includes a first panel, an opposing second panel, and a connection assembly configured to releasably and adjustably couple the first panel to the second panel. The first panel has a first end of a strap attached thereto, while a second end of the strap is free-hanging. The second panel includes an adjustable tensioning loop and a rotary tensioning knob configured to adjust a length of the tensioning loop. A first coupling member is attached to a second end of the strap and includes a pin extending therefrom. A second coupling member is formed separately from the tensioning loop and the first coupling member and includes a cavity configured to receive the pin of the first coupling member and channel configured to receive the tensioning loop.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for regulating fuel flow in a fuel tank. In one example, a method may comprise fueling a fuel tank by receiving a nozzle into a filler tube which extends into a fuel tank to fuel the fuel tank, and directing fuel through the tube against vanes in a baffle which forms a compartment within the tank. Additionally, the method may comprise enabling the vanes to open so that pressure within the compartment remains below a level which would otherwise cause shut off the nozzle during the fueling.

Abstract: According to one configuration, a system includes provisioning hardware and a wireless station that supports communications with one or more communication devices. The wireless station receives a first notification from the provisioning system. The first notification indicating that the wireless station is assigned to a first allocation management resource. The first allocation management resource operable to allocate wireless resources for use by the wireless station to support wireless communications. The wireless station communicates with the first allocation management resource to receive allocation information indicating the wireless resources allocated for use by the wireless station. In response to receiving a second notification that the wireless station has been reassigned to a second allocation management resource, the wireless station communicates with the second allocation management resource instead of the first allocation management resource to receive the allocation information.

Topology relationships amongst configuration items (CI) present in a semi-structured data generated by an information technology component of the IT infrastructure are determined. Topology relationships amongst configuration items (CI) present in a structured data generated by the information technology component of the IT infrastructure are determined. The topology relationships amongst the configuration items (CI) present in the semi-structured data are reconciled with the topology relationships amongst the configuration items (CI) present in the structured data.

Abstract: A system and method for establishing a communication with a customer by an agent, via one or more communication modes includes an agent computer and a second computer. The agent computer receives a batch notification identifying a batch of one or more customer records in the agent computer, for communication in the near future, wherein the one or more customer records is associated with one or more customers. The second computer provides the batch notification enabling the agent computer to identify the batch of one or more customer records. The system determines a next step action based on a prediction of availability of the agent to execute a communication attempt to communicate with the customer using a communication mode that requires the attendance of the agent.

Abstract: A system and method are presented for content control and monitoring in a multi-party video stream using a specialized user interface (UI). Particular participants are identified as luminaries and allowed to specify off-limit topics. Other participants are presented UIs that require agreement to avoid off-limit topics. All participants are immediately able to report problem behavior during the stream through the provided UI. Reports made through this interface immediately result in quarantining compensation and streaming content including reports relating to the off-limit topics. Administrative UIs allow for quicker understanding of the reporting issues, quicker review of the potentially offending stream, and quicker resolution of the report.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods for an adjustable magazine lockup. A magazine body includes a slot in a first side with feed lips connected to the top side. The feed lips have a top edge positioned away from the top side of the magazine body. A first insert with a first lockup notch may be positioned within the slot so that there is a first distance from the top edge of the feed lips to a centerline of the first lockup notch. The insert may be replaced to change to the top edge of the feed lips. A second insert having a second lockup notch may be inserted into the slot in the first side of the magazine body to increase the distance and a third insert having a third lockup notch may be inserted into the slot in the first side of the magazine body to decrease the distance.

Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method may include (1) establishing a communication channel to indirectly convey a conversation, (2) receiving, via the communication channel, a portion of the conversation, (3) presenting the portion of the conversation to a user, (4) receiving, via the communication channel, an additional portion of the conversation, (5) detecting an additional communication channel capable of conveying the conversation, (6) determining a human-perceivable difference between how the conversation has been conveyed via the communication channel and how the conversation will be conveyed via the additional communication channel, and (7) compensating for the human-perceivable difference when presenting the additional portion of the conversation to the user in order to smoothly transition the conversation from the communication channel to the additional communication channel. The main body may include an inner surface configured to abut a fillet of a railcar axle and a receiving element on an inboard radial face of the main body. Abstract: Disclosed is a composition and process for making a water blown semi-rigid polyurethane foam wherein the polyisocyanate side and the polyol side are combined under ambient temperature conditions. Said foams are particularly suited for sound and vibration management, especially in motor vehicles.

Abstract: A precast, prestressed concrete tank and method that facilitates construction of a primary inner tank within a secondary outer tank, and which permits for the construction of the primary inner tank after the secondary outer tank has been erected, but without requiring insertion through a top of the secondary outer tank, or by tunneling underneath the secondary outer tank, is disclosed. The primary inner tank has an inner wall and the secondary outer tank has an outer wall (precast, prestressed concrete) and wire windings. The primary inner tank is disposed inside of the secondary outer tank. The secondary outer tank has a plurality of first precast outer wall panels, and a temporary construction opening frame. The temporary construction opening frame defines an access doorway during construction of the tank. The temporary construction opening frame is disposed on a foundation base slab.
