Abstract: A passenger seat, such as an aircraft passenger seat, includes a seat base and an entertainment system. The seat base includes a cushioning member and a cover covering the cushioning member. The entertainment system is positioned between the cushioning member and the cover and is removably connected to the cushioning member. The entertainment system is configured to determine a force caused by a passenger's legs in at least two locations on an upper surface of the seat base when used.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for an air intake system. In one example, an air intake system is provided. The air intake system includes a first air inlet duct providing intake air to an engine intake conduit, the first air inlet duct including an opening positioned external to an engine compartment. The air intake system also includes a second air inlet duct positioned upstream of the engine intake conduit and external to the engine compartment, the second air inlet duct including a funnel shaped to flow air to only a portion of an air filter.

Abstract: Systems and methods to generate visual overlays on a graphical user interface (GUI) based calendar which is viewable according to numerous views, such as a month view, year view, decade view, etc. The calendar may be associated with a library (“media library”) of various objects (e.g., images, videos, music, documents) stored across one or more storage devices. The system may generate a date-range overlay in which the user creates a query, or may generate an autonomously extracted overlay from a container of media objects. The system autonomously extracts date(s) from media files in the container or query result and generates an overlay on the calendar which corresponds to the autonomously extracted date(s) of the files in the container or query. The generated overlay may be displayed on the calendar as a single date-range overlay or as individual overlays associated with each media object in the container or query.

Abstract: A method for managing pool device resources, the method comprising: obtaining, by a digital twin service, a digital twin generation request, wherein the digital twin generation request specifies a pool device, identifying a plurality of PCI bus device being used by the pool device associated with the digital twin generation request, obtaining configuration information associated with the plurality of PCI bus devices, initiating a resource allocation using a virtual switch to access a peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus device on a second pool device based on the configuration information and the plurality of PCI bus devices, performing performance calculations on the PCI bus device based on the resource allocation, and storing a result of the performance calculations.

Abstract: A method and system for automatically terminating access or initiating a logout session for a restricted access system by determining that an authorized user has left the vicinity of the restricted access system. The authorized user preferably carries a wireless transmitter which transmits an authorization signal. When the authorized user leaves the vicinity of the restricted access system after logging in, the signal is no longer received by a wireless receiver or too weak of a signal, such that an access control system in communication with the wireless receiver automatically causes the restricted access system to initiate a logout action in order to prevent or reduce the chance of an unauthorized user gaining access to the restricted access system. In one embodiment the signal strength from the authorization signal at the time of logon is used as a baseline signal strength for future calculations that determine when to initiate an automatic termination of access to the restricted access system.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to producing paper or paperboard having improved stiffness and strength, compared to the conventional paperboard at the same basis weight. It also discloses a method of wood pulping having a significantly increased yield and providing fiber pulps with enhanced properties such as strength and stiffness. Wood chips are chemically pulped to a high kappa number, providing a rejects component and an accepts component. The rejects component is subjected to a substantially mechanical pulping process, optionally in a presence of bleaching agent, prior to blending back into the accepts component. The resulting fiber blend is washed, optionally bleached, and subjected to a papermaking process to provide paper or paperboard with enhanced strength and stiffness at low basis weight.

Abstract: Speaker diarization techniques that enable processing of audio data to generate one or more refined versions of the audio data, where each of the refined versions of the audio data isolates one or more utterances of a single respective human speaker. Various implementations generate a refined version of audio data that isolates utterance(s) of a single human speaker by generating a speaker embedding for the single human speaker, and processing the audio data using a trained generative model—and using the speaker embedding in determining activations for hidden layers of the trained generative model during the processing. Output is generated over the trained generative model based on the processing, and the output is the refined version of the audio data.

Abstract: A virtual reality system including a garment worn by a user, such as a glove, includes a jamming that jams movement of a portion of the user's body by increasing a rigidity of certain portions of the garment or by preventing a certain portion of the garment from expanding past a certain length. This allows the garment to simulate the physical sensation that occurs when the user touches an object. For example, to simulate the sensation of holding a coffee mug, the jamming mechanism prevents the user's fingers from curling after the user's fingers have reached a position equivalent to making physical contact with the coffee mug.

Abstract: Systems and methods associated with generating and/or maintaining resilient versions of application data usable by operationally distinct clusters are disclosed. In one embodiment, an exemplary method may comprise operating plural instances of a software application in a first cluster and a second cluster, assessing requirements of streaming architecture of both clusters that impact the instances' ability to process application data, creating at least two versions of the application including a main version in one cluster and a replica version for an operationally distinct cluster, automatically mirroring, in real time, replica versions of the application data from each cluster into a distinct cluster for access and use by the software instance in the distinct cluster, and locally storing indexes for main and replica versions and all data that the software application requires to provide consistent responses in all of the operationally distinct clusters.

The memory stores instructions executable by the processor such that the computer is programmed to classify a traffic condition of a road segment based on data received from an object detection sensor with a field of view including the road segment and that is communicatively connected to the computer. Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention relate to surface enhanced pulp fibers, various products incorporating surface enhanced pulp fibers, and methods and systems for producing surface enhanced pulp fibers. Various embodiments of surface enhanced pulp fibers have significantly increased surface areas compared to conventional refined fibers while advantageously minimizing reductions in length following refinement. Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for expediting heating of an engine and an emissions device upon cold startup of the engine. In one example, a method may include prior to cold startup of an engine, operating an e-compressor and opening a recirculation valve of a recirculation passage coupled across the e-compressor to flow compressed intake air from an outlet of the e-compressor through the recirculation passage to an inlet of the e-compressor and starting the engine upon a temperature at the outlet of the e-compressor reaching a threshold and continuing to operate the e-compressor while the engine is on. The heated intake air resulting from the flow of compressed intake air through the recirculation passage raises a temperature of combustion and a temperature of exhaust gas, which may decrease catalyst light-off time of the emissions device.

Abstract: The disclosure herein describes a system for generating customizable summaries of multi-message conversations in email threads and other multi-message and multi-participant messaging applications. A summary icon is displayed if the number of messages in a thread exceeds a threshold number. Message data is cleaned and analyzed by ML models to generate feature vectors representing the messages content. Multiple loglinear regression models compute similarity between message sentences. Clustering algorithm(s) to generate a multi-message conversation thread summary based on the values. If the user selects the summary icon, the multi-message conversation thread summary is displayed. The summary includes summary sentences and/or annotations describing content of the messages in the thread, participants contributing to the messages in the thread, links back to the original messages in the thread and/or a count of the number of messages contributed by each participant.
