Abstract: An asymmetric supercapacitor having a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a biasing electrode disposed between the positive electrode and negative electrode. The biasing electrode accumulates a mass-balanced equivalent amount of charge as the supercapacitor is charging, and an independent voltage applied to the biasing electrode causes charge to be forced to the positive electrode or the negative electrode maintaining an equilibrium in the charge double layer. In one embodiment, the operating voltage is about 5.5-7.4V in a coin cell form factor. The positive and biasing electrodes are made of the same material and in one embodiment are made of activated charcoal and graphene nanoplatelets. The negative electrode may also comprise activated charcoal and graphene nanoplatelets in a different amount than the positive electrode such that the weight ratio of the positive electrode to the negative electrode is not 1:1. The negative electrode may also comprise lithiated graphite.

Abstract: Email has become commonplace as a means to communicate among parties non-synchronously by exchanging email messages. Some communications, however, may be more effective in real-time or in near real-time. For instance, service providers may offer a chat feature to accommodate real-time or near real-time help or service communications with customers. However, in this case, the user is likely required to enter credentials and/or context information to transition into a different communication type with the service provider. The present systems and methods provide a continuous conversation experience for the user whereby a message recipient of one message type (e.g., email, text, etc.) may continue a conversation in a different message type (e.g., a chat session, instant message, etc.) without manually providing message context for communicating via the second message type.

Abstract: This document describes techniques that enable facilitating user-proficiency in using radar gestures to interact with an electronic device. Using the described techniques, an electronic device can employ a radar system to detect and determine radar-based touch-independent gestures (radar gestures) that are made by the user to interact with the electronic device and applications running on the electronic device. For the radar gestures to be used to control or interact with the electronic device, the user must properly perform the radar gestures. The described techniques therefore also provide a tutorial or game environment that allows the user to learn and practice radar gestures in a natural way. The tutorial or game environments also provide visual feedback elements that give the user feedback when radar gestures are properly made and when the radar gestures are not properly made, which makes the learning and practicing a pleasant and enjoyable experience for the user.

Abstract: Detecting data corruption in a storage system includes examining portions of the data for encryption anomalies and providing an indication in response to detecting an encryption anomaly. The encryption anomalies may be based on entropy of the data. The entropy of the data may vary based on an inherent nature of the data. One of the portions of data may be deemed to be encrypted in response to an entropy value exceeding a predetermined threshold. The predetermined threshold may be based on prior data accesses. The predetermined threshold may be determined using machine learning. Portions of the data may be examined for encryption anomalies during data accesses. Data accesses may be suspended in response to detecting an encryption anomaly. Encryption anomalies may include data that is flagged to be encrypted not being detected as being encrypted and/or data that is flagged to not be encrypted being detected as being encrypted.

Abstract: A method and system for automated computer-based medical malpractice insurance underwriting using value-based care data is disclosed. A machine-learning based predictive model is trained to predict a risk of a medical malpractice claim from a provider data set including value-based care data and social factor data. A provider data set including value-based care data and social factor data for a provider is retrieved. The provider data set is input into the trained machine-learning based predictive model. A risk score indicating a risk of a medical malpractice claim for the provider is predicted based on the input provider data set using the trained machine-learning based predictive model. A premium for medical malpractice insurance is determined for the provider based on the predicted risk score. The predictive modeling method can also be used to predict stop loss risk and determine a combined premium for medical malpractice and stop loss insurance.
