Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described that implement a smart-device-based radar system capable of performing gesture recognition using a space time neural network. The space time neural network employs machine learning to recognize a user's gesture based on complex radar data. The space time neural network is implemented using a multi-stage machine-learning architecture, which enables the radar system to conserve power and recognize the user's gesture in real time (e.g., as the gesture is performed). The space time neural network is also adaptable and can be expanded to recognize multiple types of gestures, such as a swipe gesture and a reach gesture, without significantly increasing size, computational requirements, or latency.

Abstract: Embodiments herein are directed to an emulator assembly. The assembly includes a housing with a cavity, a pedal arm, an elongated member, a carrier, an end plate and a compressible member. The pedal arm is at least partially received in the cavity and has a pedal pad on one end. The elongated member extends and couples to the pedal arm on one end and couples to a carrier on an opposite other end. The end plate is spaced apart from the carrier. The compressible member is positioned in the space between the carrier and the end plate. When the pedal pad is depressed, the elongated member moves the carrier in a direction towards the end plate which drives the carrier into the compressible member such that the compressible material compresses to generate a force feedback onto a foot positioned on the pedal pad.
Abstract: A system and method of deploying a portable monitoring device. The method comprises inferring a rate of motion associated with the portable monitoring device; initiating, at a display screen of the portable monitoring device when the rate of motion is above a predetermined threshold, an image capture request; determining, responsive to the image capture request, a violation; and reporting the violation to a remote server communicatively coupled to the portable monitoring device.
Abstract: A system, machine, and methods for selectively extracting chemicals from plant material without co-extracting chlorophyll, lipids and other undesirable constituents from plants, is described here. Extraction uses super-cooled solvents, such as 100% ethanol. The system and method provides plant extracts that are enriched in active compounds, and depleted in chlorophyll.
Abstract: A process comprises (i) providing an isocyanate component A that is a reaction product of an aliphatic polyisocyanate, an aromatic polyisocyanate, an aliphatic polyester polyol, and a polyether polyol; (ii) providing a polyol component B comprising an aliphatic polyester polyol and a polyether polyol; (iii) mixing A and B to form a solventless adhesive (SLA) composition component A and component B each comprises an aliphatic polyester polyol having a viscosity from 800 to 6000 mPa·s at 25° C. and a hydroxyl number from 60 to 180 mg KOH/g; the SLA composition has (a) an initial viscosity at 40° C. from 500 to 1600 mPa·s, (b) an increasing viscosity ratio from 100% to 112% of the initial viscosity after the SLA composition stands at 40° C. for 10 min, and (c) an end viscosity at 40° C. from 120% to 210% of the initial viscosity at 40 min after forming the SLA composition.

Abstract: A lighting system for a vehicle is described, which includes a first hybridized device, a second hybridized device and a controller. The first hybridized device includes a first array of light emitting devices that illuminate a roadway on which the vehicle is located when operating. The second hybridized device includes a second array of light emitting devices that illuminate the roadway on which the vehicle is located when operating. The controller is electrically coupled to the first and second hybridized devices. Abstract: A low cost, high selectivity asymmetric polyimide/polyethersulfone (PES) blend hollow fiber membrane, a method of making the membrane and its use for a variety of liquid, gas, and vapor separations such as deep desulfurization of gasoline and diesel fuels, ethanol/water separations, pervaporation dehydration of aqueous/organic mixtures, CO2/CH4, CO2/N2, H2/CH4, He/CH4, O2/N2, H2S/CH4, olefin/paraffin, iso/normal paraffins separations, and other light gas mixture separations. The polyimide/PES blend hollow fiber membrane is fabricated from a blend of a polyimide polymer and PES and showed surprisingly unique gas separation property with higher selectivities than either the polyimide hollow fiber membrane without PES polymer or the PES hollow fiber membrane without PES polymer for gas separations such as for H2/CH4, He/CH4, H2S/CH4, CO2/CH4 separations.

A sediment removing vacuum unit is operably associated with the structural frame to conduct suctioned bottom water flow through suction lines to a filtering station outside of the water body, such that the water can then be returned to the large water body.
