Patent number: 10969241Abstract: Systems and methods detect steps from one or more sensed accelerometer signals. Systems comprise an accelerometer and a non-transitory computer readable medium, each of which communicates with a processor. The accelerometer is coupled to an individual and generates outputs received by the processor. The non-transitory computer readable medium stores instructions controlling the processor to perform steps of a method. The processor determines a minimum and a maximum reading for respective time periods. Counted peak heights are maxima that exceed a rest threshold. The rest threshold may be a function of the rest maximum. The processor determines a peak threshold for each time period having a counted peak height. A counted amplitude comprises the difference between the maximum reading and minimum readings of a time period in which the counted peak height exceeds the peak threshold. The processor increments a step counter when a counted amplitude exceeds an amplitude threshold.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2020Date of Patent: April 6, 2021Assignee: OPTUM LABS, LLCInventors: Gregory R. Patent number: 10970219Abstract: A storage system may maintain a purge counter for one or more logical storage units. When an instruction is received to perform an operation that will modify data across the one or more logical storage units, the purge counter may be incremented. One or more host systems implementing host caching may periodically poll the storage system to determine the purge counter value. When the current value of the purge counter value is different than a previously polled purge counter value recorded on a host system, the host system may purge from its host cache any entries for logical storage units associated with the purge counter. The data storage system may not execute the data modification instruction until it receives acknowledgement from all host systems caching data affected by the modification instruction that the host system has purged any host cache entries corresponding to the LSUs affected by the modification operation.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 2019Date of Patent: April 6, 2021Assignee: EMC IP Holding Company LLCInventors: Michael J.
