Abstract: A longitudinal vehicle speed sensor for a vehicle includes a first sensor configured to generate a first measured speed based on one of a wheel speed of the vehicle receiving output torque from a drive unit and an output of a global positioning system (GPS). A second sensor is configured to generate a second measured speed. A speed weighting module is configured to apply a first weight to the first measured speed to generate a first weighted speed. A speed weighting module is configured to apply a second weight to the second measured speed to generate a second weighted speed. An output module is configured to generate a speed estimate based on the first weighted speed and the second weighted speed.

Abstract: Example embodiments provide systems and methods for increasing the cryptographic strength of an encryption or message-authentication-code-(MAC) generation technique. According to some embodiments, a MAC may be constructed around a shared secret (such as a random initialization number), thereby increasing strength of the MAC against brute force attacks based on the size of the shared secret. The MAC may be combined with randomized data, and may also be encrypted to further bolster the strength of the code. These elements (shared secret, MAC algorithm, and encryption algorithm) may be employed in various combinations and to varying degrees, depending on the application and desired level of security. At each stage, the cryptographic construct operates on the cyptographically modified data from the previous stage. This layering of cryptographic constructs may increase the strength of the group of contrasts more efficiently than applying any one construct with a larger key size or similar increase in complexity.

Abstract: Example embodiments of systems and methods for data transmission system between transmitting and receiving devices are provided. In an embodiment, each of the transmitting and receiving devices can contain a master key. The transmitting device can generate a diversified key using the master key, protect a counter value and encrypt data prior to transmitting to the receiving device, which can generate the diversified key based on the master key and can decrypt the data and validate the protected counter value using the diversified key.

Abstract: A hydraulic fracturing system for fracturing a subterranean formation includes an electric powered pump having an inlet and an outlet, the outlet coupled to a well associated with the subterranean formation and powered by at least one electric motor. The system also includes a fluid source, coupled to the inlet of the electric powered pump, the fluid source providing a slurry for injection into the subterranean formation. The system further includes a hose extending between the fluid source and the electric powered pump, the hose being flexible and having a first diameter. The system includes a fitting between the hose and the electric powered pump, the fitting having a first end for receiving the hose at the first diameter and a second end for coupling to the electric powered pump at a second diameter, the second diameter being larger than the first diameter.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for a forwarding element that receives a packet. The method determines whether the packet matches any flow entries in a first cache that uses a first type of algorithm to identify matching flow entries for packets. When the packet does not match any flow entries in the first cache, the method determines whether the packet matches any flow entries in a second cache that uses a second, different type of algorithm to identify matching flow entries for packets. The method executes a set of actions specified by a flow entry matched by the packet in one of the first and second caches.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for generated simulated sensor data. One of the methods includes obtaining a surfel map generated from sensor observations of a real-world environment and generating, for each surfel in the surfel map, a respective grid having a plurality of grid cells, wherein each grid has an orientation matching an orientation of a corresponding surfel, and wherein each grid cell within each grid is assigned a respective color value. For a simulated location within a simulated representation of the real-world environment, a textured surfel rendering is generated, including combining color information from grid cells visible from the simulated location within the simulated representation of the real-world environment.

The switches include a first side pair of switches and a second side pair of switches configured to provide an output signal based on the source. The output filter includes one or more energy storage elements coupled to the first side pair of switches or the second side pair of switches. The controller is configured to receive a ground fault signal that indicates a fault has occurred and configured to generate a switch signal for the switches for a minimum energy state of the output filter and in response to the ground fault signal.

The communication circuitry maintains network topology data responsive to the routing of the NF messages from the sending NFs to the receiving NFs. The API circuitry receives an API call for the network topology data. The API circuitry retrieves the network topology data from the communication circuitry. The API circuitry transfers an API response having the network topology data.

Abstract: A method and system for concrete monitoring calibration using truck-mounted mixer drum jump speed data selectively assimilated from previous deliveries. In preferred embodiments, the invention surprisingly employs data obtained using different concrete mix designs, as well as jump speed data obtained from high speed mixing after the trucks arrive at the construction delivery site and before pouring the concrete into place at the site. The method involves measuring energy (E) in terms of pressure or force associated with mixing the concrete (“E1”) at a first drum speed (“V1”) and measuring energy (E2) after a speed jump of +/?2.5 RPM or more to a second drum speed (V2). Slump is calculated using low speed energy/speed/slump curve data, or pre-stored equation wherein slump(S) is derived as a function of slope of the line defined by E1, V1 and E2, V2 and intercept of the plotted relationship (at E axis where V is zero).

Abstract: A computing device is provided, including a processor that receives a network graph. The processor further receives a specification of a network traffic control heuristic for a network traffic routing problem over the network graph. The processor further constructs a gap maximization problem that has, as a maximization target, a difference between an exact solution to the network traffic routing problem and a heuristic solution generated using the network traffic control heuristic. The processor further generates a Lagrange multiplier formulation of the gap maximization problem. At a convex solver, the processor further computes an estimated maximum gap as an estimated solution to the Lagrange multiplier formulation of the gap maximization problem. The processor further performs a network traffic control action based at least in part on the estimated maximum gap.

The artificial intelligence-based system is configured to: retrieve sensor data of the occupant; identify a difference between the current inferred hormonal state data and a desired hormonal state; determine a variation including one of configuring the vehicle for aggressive driving performance or configuring the vehicle for non-aggressive driving performance to promote the desired hormonal state of the occupant responsive to the current inferred hormonal state; and induce the variation in one or more occupant experience parameters to achieve at least one desired outcome.

Abstract: Techniques are described for reducing time to decrypt a next encrypted frame in a content stream by optimizing a license/key acquisition process. When requesting content, a key identifier and/or license identifier may be included within a webpage using a link, script, or similar access point. When a client device sends a request for content, the loading of the webpage within the client device includes the embedded key identifier. Access to the key/license identifier at the client device then may initiate a key/license acquisition process by the client device. The key/license may be obtained from a key management device in parallel with, or prior to, downloading of at least a portion of the content stream.

Abstract: A charging system of a vehicle includes a first conversion device of a first drive system of the vehicle, the first conversion device connected to a first electric motor. The system also includes a second conversion device of a second drive system of the vehicle, the second conversion device connected to a second electric motor. The first drive system and the second drive system are connected to a battery system of the vehicle. The system also includes a switching assembly including a plurality of switches configured to selectively connect the first electric motor and/or the second electric motor to a charge port of the vehicle, and a controller configured to control the switching assembly to define a conversion circuit that includes components of the first drive system and/or the second drive system, and control the conversion circuit to regulate an output voltage and supply power to an energy storage system.

Abstract: A system and method for recommending products based on characteristics of a customer's household. The system and method associates age dependent products with developmental stages on a universal developmental scale and determines a subset of age dependent products based on prior engagements by the customer's household. Using the development stages associated with the subset of age dependent products characteristics of the customer's household may determine specifically the number and ages of juveniles in the customer's household. Performing Gaussian mixture model or multivariate kernel density estimation on the developmental stages associated with the engagements of customer's household, the age(s) and number of juveniles respectively may be determined and recommendations of products and services to the customer or customer's household based upon these characteristics may be advantageously made.
