  • Patent number: 10812813
Abstract: Described herein are classifiers that are used to determine whether or not to partition a block in frame during prediction using recursive partitioning. Blocks of training video frames are encoded using recursive partitioning to generate encoded blocks. Training instances are generated for the encoded blocks that include values of features extracted from each encoded block and a label indicating whether or not the encoded block is partitioned into smaller blocks in the recursive partitioning. The classifiers are trained for different block sizes using the training instances associated with the block size as input to a machine-learning process. When encoding frames of a video sequence, the output of the classifiers determines whether input blocks are partitioned during encoding.

  • Patent number: 10809968
Abstract: In general, the subject matter described in this disclosure can be embodied in methods, systems, and program products. A computing device stores reference song characterization data and receives digital audio data. The computing device determines whether the digital audio data represents music and then performs a different process to recognize that the digital audio data represents a particular reference song. The computing device then outputs an indication of the particular reference song.

  • Patent number: 10806974
Abstract: An improved putter grip is provided. In one embodiment, the putter grip includes an enlarged heel portion that can be held in the fore-to-aft direction or the side-to-side direction, dependent upon the user's preference. The putter grip includes a front-facing surface between a right side surface and a left side surface. The putter grip also includes a rear-facing surface that is opposite of the front-facing surface. The rear-facing surface includes an upper portion, defining the enlarged heel, a lower portion, and an intermediate portion. The lower portion of the rear-facing surface is spaced apart from the front-facing surface by a reduced distance, and the intermediate portion is a continuous extension of the lower portion. As a result, the front-to-back width of the putter grip is greater in the upper portion than in the lower portion, with the intermediate portion defining a slightly concave exterior curvature.

  • Patent number: 10808257
Abstract: Recombinant DNA constructs, for use in plants and plant cells, have site-specific recombination sites that allow assessing phenotypes and modes of action by over expression or suppression of endogenous genes. In an aspect, a single DNA construct can be switched between over expression and suppression by the action of a recombinase such as the Cre recombinase on constructs having lox recombination sites. Other useful recombination systems include the Flp/frt system, the R/Rs system, the Dre/rox system, and the GIN/gix system.

  • Patent number: 10808594
Abstract: A system providing an approach for catalytic converter warmup mode is applicable to multiple vehicle applications including hybrid vehicles. The system determines exhaust enthalpy during conditions including transient engine speed and transient engine load for a catalytic converter receiving exhaust output from an engine. Multiple exhaust parameter measurement devices each measure exhaust conditions entering the catalytic converter. A processor receives output from each of the exhaust parameter measurement devices and continuously calculates an enthalpy of the catalytic converter. The calculated enthalpy of the catalytic converter is repeatedly compared to a predetermined enthalpy threshold required to achieve catalytic light-off saved in a memory.

  • Patent number: 10806128
Abstract: A dog harness is provided with a leash-holding element with controlled displacement for search dogs performing special work, comprising a back strap, a belly strap with a quick release buckle, and a chest strap running between the chest bone and the throat area. The leash-holding element with controlled displacement has an elastic design, stretching along the axis line, in line with the spine of the dog to a given extent, reducing the load on the dog when led on a leash, primarily during special mantrailing—search work, when the dog is sniffing the ground with an outstretched neck. The leash-holding element with controlled displacement moves on the axis line as a function of the forces acting on the leash-holding end element. The leash-holding element follows the mechanism of movement characteristic of search work, and allows smooth working for the search dog led on a leash.
