Abstract: An ultrasonic system and method for sealing a complex interface, such as a Gable top, having multiple and a variety of layers across the interface, or an oval or round spout having a complex geometry. The system includes two ultrasonic horns arranged opposite a gap between which the interface is provided. The frequency and phase of the ultrasonic energy are synchronized as the energy is applied simultaneously while the interface is pressed between a jaw and the energy is applied to both sides of the interface. Only one application of the frequency- and phase-synchronized ultrasonic energy is required to hermetically seal all the layers of the interface together.

Abstract: A data protection technique involves, based on a first set of policies on a first storage array, generating a second set of policies on a second storage array to track the first set. The first array maintains a first storage object, and the second array maintains a second storage object as a replica of the first storage object. The technique further includes detecting assignment of the first set of policies to the first storage object and, in response to such detection, assigning the second set of policies to the second storage object. Application of a set of storage policies to a storage object may be delayed if the storage object is a replication destination. A policy group may identify multiple data protection rules or policies, which may include a snapshot rule and/or replication rule, and a user may be prevented from directly making a rule modification to a policy group. An orphan policy group cleanup operation may be performed to delete orphan policy groups.

Because the method includes storing anonymized event details, which include the biometric sample separate from user-identifying information, the method both improves privacy for law-abiding users and deters malicious use by others.

Abstract: A system and method for the matching of database records based on the similarity between fields in the database records and fields in the search queries is provided. A set of database records may be received from a search engine for further refinement of the search results. The database records may be assigned matching strength points, based on comparisons of fields in the search query and fields in the database records. The records that do not meet predetermined qualifying criteria, based on the matching strength points, may be rejected. The remaining records may be merged together, based on the similarity between fields of the remaining records.
