  • Patent number: 10808510
Abstract: A power generation system includes one or more micro-turbine electric generators (“MTEGs”). The MTEGs include a housing having an inlet for receiving pressurized gas and an outlet for releasing expanded gas. The MTEGs also include a rotor, a user-replaceable nozzle for directing pressurized gas over blades of the rotor, and a stator for generating alternating current (“AC”) responsive to rotation of the rotor. The power generation system also includes a programmable logic controller (“PLC”) coupled to the MTEGs that operates flow control valves (“FCVs”) coupled to the MTEGs to modulate the flow of gas to the MTEGs to generate output power suitable to support an electrical load. The system also includes power conversion circuitry configured to convert AC generated by the MTEGs to direct current (“DC”) and to provide the DC to an electrical load. The system also includes a skid for mounting multiple and MTEGs and FCVs.

  • Patent number: 10808747
Abstract: A method and system for increasing damping capacity in a mechanical fastener by utilizing dry friction between individual wires of a sheathed rope is disclosed. For metal fasteners, the sheathed rope is inserted loosely into a thick-walled metal tube. The tube is then rolled to reduce the tube diameter, thereby uniformly embedding the rope into the tube material. The tube is then subjected to either cold or hot forming. After forming, the fastener blank may be threaded. For composite or plastic fasteners, the sheathed rope includes insert locators attached to the sheathing. The sheathed rope having the insert locators is placed in the mold cavity prior to the polymerizable material being injected into the mold. Regardless of the embodiment, the resulting fastener has increased damping due to the dry inter-wire friction within the embedded rope which develops between the surfaces of individual wires upon dynamic loading of a fastened joint.

  • Patent number: 10810512
Abstract: Machine learning models used in medical diagnosis should be validated before being deployed in order to reduce the number of misdiagnoses. Validation processes presented here assess a performance of the machine learning model pre-deployment. In one or more examples, prior to the deployment of the machine learning model, the validation process assesses (1) whether a model achieves high enough performance to be deployed, and (2) that the process by which the performance metrics were computed was both sanitary and comprehensive. This pre-deployment validation helps prevent low-performing models from being deployed.

  • Patent number: 10810007
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for classifying system-generated code. One of the methods includes generating data representing a state of source code files of the snapshot before performing a build process for the snapshot. An instrumented build process is performed for the snapshot, including intercepting each compiler call of a plurality of compiler calls by the build process for the snapshot, and designating one or more respective source code files of each compiler call as source code files compiled during the build process for the snapshot. One or more source code files that are new or were modified after the build process was initiated are classified as source code files having system-generated source code.

  • Patent number: 10810753
Abstract: Disclosed is a technique for 3D reconstruction through a combination of time-of-flight (ToF) and stereoscopy. Use of a single modulation frequency in ToF computation provides a set of ambiguous distances. To determine a single accurate distance out of this candidate set, a stereoscopic comparison of an image pair provides a disambiguating distance. The stereoscopic comparison uses a stored virtual image of at least part of the emitted light, and the detected image of light reflected from an object. The stereoscopic distance is used to determine which of the multiple accurate distances is correct based on proximity. The closest of the multiple distances to the disambiguating distance is taken as the actual distance.

  • Patent number: 10810795
Abstract: Techniques of refining a model of a complex surface can include refining, upon insertion of a new control point, only those blending functions corresponding to the control points adjacent to the control point being inserted. The resulting curves cannot be considered as B-splines because the relationship between blending functions corresponding to adjacent control points no longer has a fixed relationship. Rather, the resulting blending functions, denoted herein as “S-splines,” sacrifice this fixed relationship in exchange for the ability to specify how many blending functions corresponding to adjacent control points are refined when performing exact local refinement. S-splines do not produce excess control points and have a simple representation. While the resulting functions representing the surface are not B-splines, they allow for exact refinement without affecting the blending functions corresponding to control points not neighboring the new control point.
