Patent number: 10794253Abstract: A coolant control system of a vehicle includes a coolant pump that pumps coolant to a second radiator that is different than a first radiator that receives coolant from an engine of the vehicle. A diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) injector injects a DEF into an exhaust system and receives coolant output from the second radiator. A fuel heat exchanger transfers heat between coolant and fuel flowing therethrough. An engine control module is configured to determine a temperature of the DEF injector, control a duty cycle of the coolant pump, determine a vaporized condition of the coolant based on a DEF injector temperature, optionally further, in response to determining a vaporized condition of the coolant, implement a vapor purge by oscillating the duty cycle of the coolant pump, and optionally further identify a low-coolant condition of the coolant control system based on the vapor purges implemented during a time period.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2018Date of Patent: October 6, 2020Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Douglas C. Patent number: 10797698Abstract: An example circuit includes a plurality of light emitters connected in parallel between a first node and a second node. The circuit also includes a plurality of capacitors, with each capacitor corresponding to one of the light emitters, and a plurality of discharge-control switches, with each discharge-control switches corresponding to one of the capacitors. The circuit further includes a pulse-control switch connected to the plurality of light emitters. During a first period, the pulse-control switch restricts current flow, and each of the plurality of capacitors is charged via the first node. During a second period, one or more of the plurality of discharge-control switches allows current flow that discharges one or more corresponding capacitors. Patent number: 10795974Abstract: Techniques for memory assignment for guest operating systems are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method includes generating a license blob containing data representing a product key copied from a record of license information in the host storage upon receiving a user request to launch an application in the guest operating system. The method also includes storing the generated license blob in a random memory location accessible by the guest operating system. The guest operating system can then query the license blob for permission to launch the application and launching the application in the guest operating system without having a separate product key for the guest operating system.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2018Date of Patent: October 6, 2020Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Ahmed Saruhan Karademir, Sudeep Kumar Ghosh, Ankit Srivastava, Michael Trevor Pashniak, Benjamin M. Patent number: 10798216Abstract: The disclosed technology is generally directed to IoT communications. For example, such technology is usable in provisioning IoT devices in an automatic manner with no manual steps. In one example of the technology, upon initial boot, identification information is automatically sent to a provisioning service endpoint stored in the IoT device. The identification information includes an identification (ID) of the first IoT device. Cryptographic information is received from the provisioning service. The cryptographic information is associated with an IoT hub selected from a plurality of IoT hubs based, in part, on the ID of the first IoT device. A message is automatically sent to the IoT hub in response to receiving the cryptographic information. A new configuration file and a firmware update are received from the IoT hub without requiring a user association. The new configuration file and the firmware update are automatically installed.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2016Date of Patent: October 6, 2020Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Nicole Berdy, Konstantin Dotchkoff, Arjmand Samuel, Affan Dar

Patent number: 10796567Abstract: Various aspects generally relate to identifying a vehicle based on a machine-readable optical marker. In some implementations, a server device may receive one or more images of an object and metadata related thereto. In some implementations, based upon the one or more images, an image processing engine may identify at least one non-visible spectrum marker on a surface of the object (e.g., a machine-readable optical marker that encodes information associated with the object). The server device may determine that the object depicted in the one or more images corresponds to a particular vehicle based on the information encoded by the machine-readable optical marker corresponding to an identifier associated with the particular vehicle. Accordingly, the server device may associate information identifying the particular vehicle with information identifying a location based on the metadata related to the one or more images to permit subsequent determination of the location of the particular vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2019Date of Patent: October 6, 2020Assignee: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: Qiaochu Tang, Stephen Wylie, Micah Price, Jason Hoover, Geoffrey Dagley

Patent number: 10795415Abstract: A foldable display has multiple layers, including at least a display layer that creates the display that users see when looking at the foldable display and a stiff support layer that provides the display layer with support despite the foldable nature of the display. An adhesive layer binds the display layer to the stiff support layer. The stiff support layer has a stiffness that is at least six times greater than the stiffness of the adhesive layer and at least six times greater than the stiffness of the display layer. Given the foldable nature of the display, there is typically a hinge system below part of the display. In situations in which pressure is applied to the foldable display (e.g., by a user's finger or stylus), the stiffness of the stiff support layer prevents the display from being damaged despite the presence of the hinge system.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2019Date of Patent: October 6, 2020Assignee: Motorola Mobility LLCInventors: Alberto R. Patent number: 10797716Abstract: An image sensor may contain an array of imaging pixels arranged in rows and columns. Each column of imaging pixels may be coupled to an analog-to-digital converter for converting analog imaging signals from the pixels to digital signals. The analog-to-digital converter may be implemented as a split successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The split SAR ADC may include a coarse section and a fine section. During a reset sampling phase, a reset level is sampled with a predetermined pedestal value is applied to the coarse and fine sections. During reset conversion, a reset code is obtained. During a signal sampling phase, a signal level is sampled using inverted bits of the reset code for only the fine section. During signal conversion, a signal code is obtained. Operated in this way, differential non-linearity of the ADC is minimized.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2019Date of Patent: October 6, 2020Assignee: SEMICONDUCTOR COMPONENTS INDUSTRIES, LLCInventor: Shankar Ramakrishnan
