  • Patent number: 10793184
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for controlling an electronic power assisted steering (EPAS) motor in response to detecting engine stall while restarting an auto stop-start engine are described. A controller is to ramp out current from an EPAS motor in response to detecting that an auto stop-start engine is stalled. The controller is also to invoke a stall recovery attempt at the auto stop-start engine in response to the ramp out of current. The controller is also to ramp in current to the EPAS motor in response to detecting that the auto stop-start engine has been successfully restarted based on the stall recovery attempt.

  • Patent number: 10796578
Abstract: A method and system for distributing electronic vehicle accident status information over a network to a remote subscriber portable computing device during and after a vehicle accident may include transmitting a downloadable client application over a communications network to a portable computing device (PCD) for running on the portable computing device and for communicating with the server over the communications network. The server may receive profile information about a person and at least one vehicle from the communications network via the client application. The client application may then receive an accident report name with the client application and then display on the PCD a check-list of actions for completion in order to complete the accident report associated with the accident report name. At least one action controls a camera function of the PCD.

  • Patent number: 10797555
Abstract: A submersible pump electrical motor has a bearing sleeve between first and second rotor sections and mounted to the shaft for rotation in unison. An insert sleeve surrounds the bearing sleeve. A carrier body surrounds the insert sleeve. A carrier anti-rotation ring on an outer diameter of the carrier body engages the bore of the stator. First and second seal rings are axially spaced apart from each other between an outer diameter of the insert sleeve and an inner diameter of the carrier body. A hole in the carrier body has an inner end at the inner diameter of the carrier body. An electrically conductive coil spring within the hole has an inner end protruding through the inner end of the hole into contact with the outer diameter of the insert sleeve, creating electrical continuity between the insert sleeve and the carrier body.

  • Patent number: 10795975
Abstract: A node, of a network of nodes with access to a distributed ledger, receives a request to verify the user has consented to a current version of terms (i.e., current terms) associated with a program. The node obtains, using the distributed ledger, historical consent data indicating a version of the terms to which the user has previously provided consent. The node performs a first verification procedure to determine the user has not consented to the current terms, provides an indication to a user device that the user has not consented to the current terms, and receives, from the user device, a message indicating an acceptance of the current terms. The node performs additional verification procedures to determine that the user is who consented to the current terms and updates the distributed ledger to include a record indicating that the user consented to the current terms.

  • Patent number: 10798515
Abstract: An audio system captures audio data of test sounds through a microphone of a headset worn by a user. The test sounds are played by an external speaker, and the audio data includes audio data captured for different orientations of the headset with respect to the external speaker. A set of head-related transfer function (HRTFs) is calculated based at least in part on the audio data of the test sounds at the different orientations of the headset. A portion of the set of HRTFs is discarded to create an intermediate set of HRTFs. The discarded portion corresponding to one or more distortion regions that are based in part on wearing the headset. One or more HRTFs are generated that correspond to the discarded portion using at least some of the intermediate set of HRTFs to create an individualized set of HRTFs for the user.

  • Patent number: 10792687
Abstract: With the use of a low cost microphone mounted at each nozzle, a sound signature of the nozzles may be captured and stored to be used as a continuous indicator of any changes in the flow rate of the nozzles. By measuring changes in sound at each nozzle, it is possible to determine the change in flow before a change in pressure manifests into a problem in the system. The change in sound will oftentimes be significant for plugged nozzles, or nozzles that have excessive wear and flow at too high of a rate. The invention has the advantage of being relatively low cost with ceramic microphones, for example, and with little or no moving parts required. A closed loop control system may be included to compensate for nozzle degradation.
