Abstract: A tool for connecting and disconnecting a pair of connectors is provided. The tool has a body. The body includes a first edge that is spaced from a second edge. A first portion of the body that includes the first edge is positioned at a first angle in relation to a second portion of the body that includes the second edge. The first edge has a first pair of spaced guide grooves and the second edge has a second pair of spaced guide grooves. The first pair of spaced grooves and the second pair of spaced grooves are configured to selectively receive portions of a cable and portions of component connectors.

Abstract: A satellite system that includes a gateway, a satellite, and a user terminal. The gateway determines a modulation scheme based on a function of uplink and downlink signal quality and a defined relationship between the downlink modulation to the uplink modulation. The satellite includes an input demodulator configured to apply an input modulation and coding (modcod) scheme; an output modulator configured to apply an output modcod scheme; and an output modcod scheme selector configured to select an output modcod scheme for the output modulator based on the input modcod scheme according a predetermined relationship between input modcod schemes and output modcod schemes. The user terminal providing the gateway a measure of downlink signal quality.

Abstract: A card edge connector is adapted to allow an electronic module to insert and comprises an elongated insulating housing and a plurality of conductive terminals. The insulating housing has two side walls which are spaced apart from each other, the two side walls together define a card edge insertion groove which has an opening, at least one of the two side walls is a terminal mounting wall. The plurality of conductive terminals are provided to the terminal mounting wall and partially extend into the card edge insertion groove.

Abstract: A method for receiving autonomous vehicle (AV) driving path data associated with a driving path in a roadway of a geographic location. The driving path data associated with a trajectory for an AV in a roadway and trajectory points in a trajectory of the driving path in the roadway for determining at least one feature of the roadway positioned a lateral distance from a first trajectory of the one or more trajectories of the driving path of an AV based on the map data. The method includes receiving map data associated with a map of a geographic location, determining a driving path for an AV in a roadway, generating driving path information based on a trajectory point in a trajectory of the driving path, and providing driving path data associated with the driving path to an AV for controlling the AV on the roadway.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a vehicle for maneuvering a passenger to a destination autonomously. The vehicle includes one or more computing devices and a set of user input buttons for communicating requests to stop the vehicle and to initiate a trip to the destination with the one or more computing devices. The set of user input buttons consisting essentially of a dual-purpose button and an emergency stopping button different from the dual-purpose button configured to stop the vehicle. The dual-purpose button has a first purpose for communicating a request to initiate the trip to the destination and a second purpose for communicating a request to pull the vehicle over and stop the vehicle. The vehicle has no steering wheel and no user inputs for the steering, acceleration, and deceleration of the vehicle other than the set of user input buttons.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to circuits, systems, and methods of operation for a memory device. In an example, a memory device includes a plurality of memory cells, each memory cell having a variable impedance that varies in accordance with a respective data value stored therein; and a read circuit configured to read the data value stored within a selected memory cell based upon a variable time delay determination of a signal node voltage change corresponding to the variable impedance of the selected memory cell.

Abstract: A system is disclosed which provides the ability to install a cross arm on a power pole utilizing an electrically isolated bucket which is free of all hydraulic components used by an operator in the bucket to manipulate the bucket. The system also utilizes an in-the-bucket rechargeable battery powered electric tool such as a saw, drill etc. without a need for a hydraulic electric generator in the bucket. The system includes the ability to provide communication to and from and to supply electrical power to remote portions of an electrically isolated boom, by transmitting optical power and control signals through an electrically non-conductive optical fiber.

Abstract: A method of decoding JVET video, comprising receiving a bitstream indicating how a coding tree unit was partitioned into coding units according to a partitioning structure that allows nodes to be split according to a partitioning technique. An intra direction mode for a coding unit may be selected, as well as one or more of the plurality of reference lines to generate at least one predictor for the intra direction mode. A predictor may be generated from reference samples within each selected reference line by combining predicted pixel values based on a projected position on a main reference line in combination with predicted pixel values based on a projected position on a side reference line. The predicted pixel values are weighted according to a weight parameter, wherein the weight parameter is determined based on a shift conversion factor.

Abstract: A method of redirecting search queries from an untrusted search engine to a trusted search engine is a software application that is used to prevent personal information from being collected by untrusted search engines. The software application receives a search query URL for a desired search engine which corresponds to a search query. The search query is compared to a provided plurality of untrusted URL patterns in order to determine if the desired search engine can be trusted. If the search query URL is not found on in the plurality of untrusted URL patterns, the search is allowed to proceed. If the search query URL is found in the plurality of untrusted URL patterns, the search query is redirected to a trusted search engine. At least one trusted URL pattern is provided so that the search can be redirected to a trusted search engine.

Abstract: A natural language processing system has a hierarchy of user intents related to a domain of interest, the hierarchy having specific intents corresponding to leaf nodes of the hierarchy, and more general intents corresponding to ancestor nodes of the leaf nodes. The system also has a trained understanding model that can classify natural language utterances according to user intent. When the understanding model cannot determine with sufficient confidence that a natural language utterance corresponds to one of the specific intents, the natural language processing system traverses the hierarchy of intents to find a more general user intent that is related to the most applicable specific intent of the utterance and for which there is sufficient confidence. The general intent can then be used to prompt the user with questions applicable to the general intent to obtain the missing information needed for a specific intent.

Abstract: Interactive product auditing with a mobile device is described. Example methods disclosed herein include performing, with an auditing device, image recognition based on a first set of candidate patterns accessed by the auditing device to identify a first product in a first region of interest of a segmented image. The disclosed example methods also include prompting, with the auditing device, a user to enter input associated with a first grid of the first region of interest displayed on a display, the first grid including the first product. The disclosed example methods further include determining, with the auditing device, a second set of candidate patterns to use to identify a second product in a second region of interest of the segmented image, the second set of candidate patterns determined based on the user input and a group of products identified in a neighborhood of the first region of interest.

Abstract: Light emitting devices (LEDs) are described. An LED includes a light emitting semiconductor structure that includes a light emitting active layer disposed between an n-layer and a p-layer. A wavelength converting material may be disposed adjacent the light emitting semiconductor structure. The wavelength converting material includes multiple pores, at least one of which contains a second material. An absolute value of a ratio of a coefficient of thermal expansion of the second material to a coefficient of thermal expansion of the wavelength converting material is at least two in an embodiment, at least ten in another embodiment, at least 100 in another embodiment, and at least 1,000 in yet another embodiment.
