Abstract: An anti-skimming device includes a base configured to be mounted to at least one of a support structure or a card reader device. The base includes mounting openings configured to receive mounting hardware for securing the base to the at least one of the support structure or the card reader device. An arm extends outward from the base. The arm includes a flange extending such that a gap is defined between the flange and the base. The gap is configured to receive at least portion of the card reader device therein such that the flange of the arm overlaps a portion of a front side of the card reader device.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods, apparatuses, and non-transitory computer-readable storage mediums for video encoding/decoding. An apparatus includes processing circuitry that partitions a current block of a current picture based on a geometric partitioning mode (GPM). The current block is partitioned into two partitions in the GPM mode. Each of the partitions is associated with a respective predictor. A weighting index for a sample of the current block is determined based on a position of the sample. A weighting factor is calculated based on the weighting index of the sample according to an equation that converts the weighting index to the weighting factor. The sample is encoded based on the weighting factor and the predictor corresponding to the sample.

Abstract: Described herein is a coating composition suitable for application to a building panel. The coating composition comprises inorganic pigment, liquid carrier, and a humectant comprising a first ester-containing compound. The liquid carrier may be present in an amount ranging from about 10 wt. % to about 30 wt. % based on the total weight of the coating composition. Described herein are also building panels coated with the coating composition and methods of their production.

Abstract: Techniques for using finite state machines (FSMs) to implement workflows in a data processing system comprising at least one data store storing data objects and a workflow management system (WMS). The WMS is configured to perform: determining a current value of an attribute of a first data object by accessing the current value in the at least one data store; identifying, using the current value and metadata specifying relationships among at least some of the data objects, an actor authorized to perform a workflow task for the first data object; generating a GUI through which the actor can provide the input that the workflow task is to be performed; and in response to receiving, from the actor and through the GUI, input specifying that the workflow task is to be performed: performing the workflow task; and updating the current workflow state of the first FSM to a second workflow state.

The method generally includes receiving a request to generate a snapshot of a virtual volume associated with a virtual machine, in response to receiving the request, preparing a file system of the storage array to generate the snapshot, wherein preparing the file system comprises creating a delta storage structure to receive write input/output (I/O) requests directed for the virtual volume when generating the snapshot of the virtual volume, deactivating the virtual volume, activating the delta storage structure, generating the snapshot of the virtual volume, and during the generation of the snapshot of the virtual volume: receiving a write I/O directed for the virtual volume and committing the write I/O in the delta storage structure.

Abstract: A method for configuring and deploying execution environments for software applications includes receiving a bootstrap execution environment from a data store, the bootstrap execution environment including a software application, the software application including a manifest of dependencies. The method includes executing the bootstrap execution environment and determining whether an enhanced execution environment is available from the data store. When the enhanced execution environment is available from the data store, the method includes receiving the enhanced execution environment from the data store and enhancing the bootstrap execution environment based on the received enhanced execution environment. When the enhanced execution environment is not available from the data, the method includes enhancing the bootstrap execution environment based on the manifest of dependencies to create the enhanced execution environment and storing the enhanced execution environment in the data store.

Abstract: In some implementations, a system may identify, using a machine learning model, a pattern of events based on account information associated with a user. The system may generate a prediction of a time period during which a predicted event, associated with the pattern of events, is predicted to occur. The system may receive an indication that a vehicle, associated with the user, is to travel a route from a starting location to an ending location during the time period. The system may identify a physical location associated with the predicted event based on a location associated with the vehicle or based on the route. The system may generate a new route that includes the starting location, the physical location as a waypoint along the new route, and the ending location. The system may transmit information that identifies the new route to a device associated with the vehicle.

A bid is received, from an expert during training, for a training sample with an amount within a level of available bidding currency associated with the expert. The training sample is used for training a model associated with the expert. It is determined whether the expert is among at least one winner selected based on bids from one or more experts. If the expert is among the at least one winner, the training sample is sent to the expert. The at least one winner is selected based on one or more criteria aiming at expert diversification.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods that use and/or generate image files according to a novel microvideo image format. For example, a microvideo can be a file that contains both a still image and a brief video. The microvideo can include multiple tracks, such as, for example, a separate video track, audio track, and/or one or more metadata tracks. As one example track, the microvideo can include a motion data track that stores motion data that can be used (e.g., at file runtime) to stabilize the video frames. A microvideo generation system included in an image capture device can determine a trimming of the video on-the-fly as the image capture device captures the microvideo.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video encoding includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry determines whether a current block in a current picture is a small block based on a block size threshold. The processing circuitry constructs a motion vector predictor list for the current block based on whether the current block is the small block, at least one redundancy check with a motion vector candidate in the motion vector predictor list being performed in the construction of the motion vector predictor list based on whether the current block is the small block. The processing circuitry encodes the current block based on the constructed motion vector predictor list.

In various instances, the system can generate, via execution of a plurality of machine learning models, a plurality of second intermediary images based on the first intermediary image, wherein a given machine learning model in the plurality of machine learning models receives as input the first intermediary image, wherein the given machine learning model produces as output a given second intermediary image in the plurality of second intermediary images, and wherein the given second intermediary image represents a kernel-transformed version of the first intermediary image. In various cases, the system can generate a blended image based on the plurality of second intermediary images.

Abstract: A channeled seam tape includes a liquid permeable facer sheet attached to an adhesive portion, where the adhesive portion defines a channeled portion. A removable liner covers the adhesive portion and can be removed to press the tape onto a pair of adjacent substrate surfaces. Once the tape has been pressed onto the substrate surfaces, the adhesive portion covers a gap located between the substrate surfaces and adheres to each substrate surface.
