Abstract: Determining calibration values for atmospheric sensors that provide measured pressures used for estimating altitudes of mobile devices. Particular systems and methods determine if any uncalibrated reference-level pressure estimates associated with an unstable pressure sensor should not be used when calibrating the unstable pressure sensor, and calibrate the unstable pressure sensor using all of the uncalibrated reference-level pressure estimates except any uncalibrated reference-level pressure estimate that should not be used when calibrating the unstable pressure sensor.

Abstract: In some aspects, a first plug-in module that is installed on a server receives an instruction to install a particular database on a first target server that is near (e.g., less than a threshold number of hops from or having less than a threshold latency communicating with) the server. The first plug-in module creates a first persistent authentication session between the server and the first target server and initiates a first installation of a first database on the first target server using the first persistent authentication session. Concurrently with the first installation, a second plug-in module that is installed on a second server initiates a second installation of a second database on a second target server using a second persistent authentication session. The second target server is near the second server.

Abstract: A method includes receiving interaction data indicating a performance of a specified action by a user of a user device, identifying a last-in-time action associated with the user and an initiation action associated with the user and the specified action, generating, based on the identified last-in-time and initiation actions, a first attribution associated with the identified last-in-time action and the specified action and a second, additional attribution associated with the identified initiation action and the specified action, propagating, to two or more different models, the first attribution and the second, additional attribution, and generating, based on the first attribution and the second, additional attribution, one or more visual representations of the first attribution and the second, additional attribution.
Abstract: Systems and methods for converting metal oxide to metal using metal carbide as an intermediate, include: reacting the metal oxide with carbon to produce the metal carbide, wherein the metal carbide is in a form of powder or pellets; and subjecting the metal carbide produced from the metal oxide and the carbon to electrolysis in an electrorefiner to produce and purify the metal.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides approaches for reducing tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs) in tobacco. Some of these approaches include genetically engineering tobacco plants to increase one or more antioxidants, increase oxygen radicle absorbance capacity (ORAC), or reduce nitrite. Also provided are methods and compositions for producing modified tobacco plants and tobacco products therefrom comprising reduced TSNAs.

Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for sending notifications asynchronously over a telephony network. The method and system include receiving a request over a first telephony connection from a first communication device associated with a first user identifying a second communication device associated with a second user, sending one or more response communications over the first telephony connection to the first communication device associated with the first user, disconnecting the first telephony connection with the first communication device of the first user, and sending a notification over a second telephony connection to the second communication device associated with the second user, the notification including information sufficient to allow the second user to identify the first user or the first communication device associated with the first user.
Abstract: Aspects disclosed are directed to a system and methods that device authentication. The system at least transmits a silent push notification to an application installed on a client device. The silent push notification includes a push token provided by a push service and an embedded secret. A response to the silent push notification can be received with a further embedded secret. The embedded secret and the further embedded secret can be compared to determine if they match. If the embedded secret and the further embedded secret match, the client device can be authenticated.

Abstract: An electronic vaporizer including a heating element for heating a fluid to produce a vapor; a power source to provide electrical power to the heating element for heating the fluid; and a power control circuit configured to regulate a supply of electrical power from the power source to the heating element based at least in part on an operating temperature of the heating element and a temperature setting to prevent the operating temperature of the heating element from exceeding the temperature setting.
Abstract: A high throughput system for depositing seed into germination wells of a germination tray. The system comprises a seed distribution subsystem, and an individual seed transfer subsystem structured and operable to transfer individual seeds from wells in a seed storage tray to the seed deposition subsystem. The system additionally comprises a bulk seed transfer subsystem structured and operable to singulate a plurality of bulk seeds and transfer each singulated seed to the seed deposition subsystem, wherein the seed distribution subsystem structured and operable to receive seeds from the individual seed transfer subsystem and the bulk seed transfer subsystem, and deposit the seeds into wells of the seed germination tray.

Abstract: A base station may include one or more processors and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the base station to perform a process. The process may include sending, to a wireless device, a radio resource control (RRC) message comprising at least one packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) configuration parameter indicating Ethernet header compression for a data radio bearer. The method may also include sending, to the wireless device, information associated with the Ethernet header compression. The information may include a source medium access control (MAC) address and a destination MAC address, as well as a header compression index corresponding to the source MAC address and the destination MAC address. The process may further include sending, to the wireless device, a compressed Ethernet packet comprising a packet header being compressed and the corresponding header compression index.
Abstract: A volatizer is provided including a multifunction cap secured over the open end of a body or other device, the chamber or other part of the device holding an amount of material to be extracted by selective volatization therein and including a thermo-indicator thereon or therein capable of deforming, actuating or otherwise indicating upon heating to a preselected temperature to provide an indication of the proper temperature for volatilization and extraction of the selected and or target compound from the material within the device. Also provided is a method of volatizing a substance.
Abstract: A transaction card assembly is described including: a card body including a Europay, Mastercard, and Visa (EMV) chip and a receiving portion; a removable sheath component including visible cardholder information and an attachment portion; wherein, in a first configuration, the removable sheath component is coupled to the card body via engagement between the receiving portion and the attachment portion, and in a second configuration, the removable sheath component is uncoupled from the card body by disengagement between the attachment portion and the receiving portion, and wherein, in the first configuration, the visible cardholder information is obfuscated by the card body.
